So it seems that interest has died down so I think I may just end the recruitment here. Also I am thinking of just doing 2 groups since a few of the interested parties haven't responded to anything and there is no need for 2 groups of 3 and 1 group 2, instead 2 groups of 4. It would be the guards and wanderers.

Here are some options, and I would like to see what everyone would like to do:
Max Each Level
Average Each Level
1d4 + Difference of HD (So a d6 HD would get 1d4+2, d10 HD would get 1d4+6)
Roll Like Normal
Something Else (Please Make a Suggestion)
My apologies for slow response times, been busy with family and work on account of the holidays. As for hp method, I'm good with whichever method you go with. I'd prefer a method that gives plenty of hp, since my character isn't going to have many regardless of method, but any of them work.

The 1d4 one was in a thread somewhere. There was talk about having a random HP but with a little more control so that no one ended up with 10 HP at level 5.
You can email then or post them to the spreadsheet on the site. Also if you tell me your characters name I will give you one of the character pages to edit in your info.

My character's name is (still) Chetna Kamala Udipti, a samsaran transmuter who studies the ability to heal and improve the mind and spirit rather than focusing on the mundane physical aspects of the Great Art. Alchemy may be able to turn base metals to gold, but to transmute a damaged mind into a healthy one is a far more noble pursuit.

My character's name is Jīqì Rén Xióngmāo, or Xiongmao for ease of typing. FYI, I used google translate to help me come up with it, for all it's accuracy, so if it doesn't mean what I think it does, blame it, not me, and I'll change it.
Almost done with stats at present. Any restrictions/rules on gear or wait on doing that part?

@Caelesti & Xzaral I have given you each a character page in the character manager section of the site. You can edit in your info there. Also, Xzaral, is the first "letters" Jiqi? If not you can edit in the correct spelling on the page.
@Sir Frog I do not believe I have received your email address yet Sir. If you could get that to me I will give you access to the site that has houserules and other info on it.
And I still have a few opening, so if anyone else that had interest in the game wanted to join you are welcome.

Your character page should be there now, and you should be able to edit it.
Oh and I forgot to mention, use the wealth by level chart. If you have any questions about anything, like crafting, etc., just ask. Also everyone gets two traits.
We will use the 1d4 + Difference method. That way everyone gets at least average, with most getting above. And just so everyone knows the numbers:
1d6 = 1d4+2 (3-6)
1d8 = 1d4+4 (5-8)
1d10 = 1d4+6 (7-10)
1d12 = 1d4+8 (9-12)

Tchzzack's stats are posted if you want to give them a look see
I'm assuming full HP for first level, and my -1 con balances out with my favored class bonus.
1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 71d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 51d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 51d4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
31 sound right?
also a question on bullets;
Adamantine says +60 gp to cost of ammunition, can I get Adamantine Cartridges for 75 gp (67 gp and 5 sp with the 10% off)

Xiao Feng |

Assuming max hit points at first level, which for Xiao would be 18 (12 + 2 (Con) + 3 (Toughness) + 1 (favored class).
1d4 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
11 + 2 (Con)+ 1 (favored class) = 14
1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
5 + 2 (Con) = 7
1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
7 + 2 (Con) + 1 (Toughness) = 10
1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
8 + 2 (Con) + 1 (Toughness) = 11
18 + 14 + 7 + 10 + 11 = 60 hp
That's actually 6 points higher than my average, so I'm cool with this.

@Caelesti The rules for purchasing additional spells are the same as normal.
@Tchzzack The HP looks right. And for the bullets, Metal Cartridges cost 1 gp 5 sp (10% of 15 gp) and you would add on the adamantine to that so it will cost you 61 gp 5 sp. And it is not a 10% off, the cost is 10% of the normal, so 100 gp becomes 10 gp.
@Xzaral Nope, no special armor rules. You can wear armor like normal.
@Xiao Feng It looks good with a quick look over. And the DR/Armor thing is pretty simple, you take your Armor Bonus and Natural Armor Bonus and treat it as DR instead of AC. Because of this there is no Touch AC, and AC is now called Defense since Armor doesn't actually apply to it.
And to everyone, yes it is max HP at first level.

![]() |

@Caelesti To clarify what I mean, it costs you.
Cost to Write It: (Spell Level ^ 2) x 10 gp
Cost to Copy It From Another Wizard: Half the Write Cost
Total Cost: The two above added together
Now for the Spellcraft checks, DC 15 + Spell Level
Your Spellcraft skill is an 11 (+2 if Specialized School)
If you take a 10 on all the Spellcraft checks your total will be 21 (23), so you can copy, by spending the necessary gp, any spells of 6th (8th) level or lower.

Gotcha! I had looked at the rules when I got my UC, but it was only a cursory one. I had planned on going back over it later, but the opportunity never came again, so actually getting to use it for this is good for me. I can explain it better to my own players when I actually do implement it.

Xiao Feng |

I've selected my two traits, but I need to ask about one in particular that I want to use.
You have mastered the deadly fighting arts of your people, and when you
wield a masterwork version of any sword, you become one with its blade. If you act before your opponent during the surprise round, you gain a +2 trait bonus on weapon damage rolls for the surprise round only. This additional damage is precision damage.
It's a Tian regional trait in the Humans of Golarion book. It would work great for my character, but I wanted to get your permission first.

UltraFennec |

Ooooh, steampunk in the dragon empires? That sounds deliciously fun!
...well, and I don't see a post anywhere saying that you've firmly, officially closed recruitment (unless I missed it, but I don't think so), and I have a kitsune ninja that I was just making for a jade regent game...but this could be more fun I think.
So if you've still got room for people, I'm up for some SteamFu too. I can post concept as soon as I find the sheet I wrote it down on.

UltraFennec |

Yulai is a bit of an odd kitsune. Where most have a mischievous streak, Yulai respects boundaries. Where most kitsune are jovial in either of their forms, Yulai is more reserved. Where most kitsune are auburn-furred, Yulai is nearly snow-white. The shamans said it was a blessing from Daikitsu. Yulai is pretty sure that's bunk.
A ninja far from her native Minkai, Yulai has spent the last few years traveling across Tian Xia seeking the heads of the three oni that kidnapped her mate-to-be and fled the country. She still has no idea why they wanted him, but she hasn't seen him since, and has heard just enough rumors on her travels to be sure that, at the least, the abductors are still alive, and that needs to be corrected post-haste.
So, I guess the group I'd fit into best would be the Travelers, since she's kinda roaming right now.

![]() |

@UltraFennec I have added you to the list as a Traveler. Now this makes the travelers full so any new players will be put into the Guards until it is full.
Also, UltraFennec, I added you to the permissions of the site we will be using for the game material and tracking of things. As this will be acting as a playtest of sorts I would appreciate your feedback on things.
And as another note, the game doesn't take place in Tian Xia, but rather a homebrewed kingdom that still functions very similar to it. So anything that is Tian Xia specific can be changed to match with relative ease, mainly just names.
I will be getting the map of the kingdom up soon, with info and flavor as well.

Xiao Feng |

Put my character up in the Combat Manager (yay!!!!) Made some last minute changes:
*named his weapon (The Golden King Saber)
* added dodge and deflection bonuses to CMD score
* changed rage power from strength surge to lesser spirit totem (this change came about while I was developing a little more detail on Xiao Feng's backstory and decided to take more of a manhua [chinese comic] approach to doing the character)

Xiao Feng |

LOL, I read that as Manhwa which is the Korean comics. I was like "NO! Not Chinese, Korean." Then I actually read it. Stupid varieties of comics with very similar names. But otherwise I am familiar with Manhua, Manhwa, Manga, Comics, and other forms of Graphic Novels.
LOL...
Yeah the names are a bit confusing. I got into them after watching movies like "A Man Called Hero," "The Storm Riders," and "Dragon Tiger Gate." Got "Storm Warriors" last year and I'm waiting for "Storm Riders: Clash of Evils" to release over here on DVD to add to my collection. Heard good things about Weapons of the Gods, but I never read it. Hoping to do so soon, though.
Yeah, I forgot about the DR increasing by 1 every five levels. Went back and changed it.
