Absolutely it was Aevelyn's idea to do this job! Sorry her initial post did not indicate it clearly enough.
Shiloh Darrow
I thought that was your meaning but I wanted to make sure.
Breezelee "Breeze" Krolmnite
So, do three of you know each other coming into the scene? Just want to be sure I'm right. It's going to take Breeze some time to be trusting of that, lol!
Cherry Candlewick
Hey Breeze is it OK if our characters know each other a bit already? I am thinking Cherry came into town a few weeks ago looking for work (and opportunities to do religious stuff) and met Breeze, who tipped her onto this job. I just wanted to put in a connection since I feel like Cherry would be unlikely to have joined up with this group otherwise.
Shiloh Darrow
Yes Shiloh is Aevelyn's lady in waiting while Nysene is Aevelyn's bodyguard.
Distrust is totally fine and completely understandable. It actually tends to take people time and shared experiences to trust others. Trust is one of those things that is earned. I doubt the three of us trust each other completely either.
And so that I have mentioned to date Shiloh has told no about her eidolon, Valrah.
Breezelee "Breeze" Krolmnite
Sounds good to me. Breeze has known Staelish for a while and if you had been with the gang for a bit that would make her less skittish and give you an introduction to the team as well.
Shiloh Darrow
Also Breeze what would happen if I got you catnip? Because I really want to do that ;)
Cherry Candlewick
Cherry basically grew up in a convent and hasn't spent much time with non-humans (except for, well, herself...) so you're probably the first catfolk she's actually known. So she's been friendly and kind of excited. (She is probably still wondering if asking if she could pet your fur would be rude, LOL.)
Aevelyn BlackHair
Lol, if I eventually develop a drug habit, catnip might be an interesting choice!
Actually I think Catnip Addiction is already a racial trait for catfolk :P So I think you will need to select a different substance ;)
EDIT: Samy, what would you say about a carriage (100 gp) drawn by two light horses (75 gp each, 150 gp total) for Aevelyn's 200 GP purchase? The total is 250 gp for the lot so I need your approval for this. Since it would be used for traveling from point A to B, I don't see it as being world-breaking here. If this is a no-go, then I will think of something else then.
Shiloh Darrow
Catnip will happen at some point as will people trying to pet you Breeze. I like this group :D
Aevelyn. I could throw some gold at that if Samy is ok with it. I mentioned something like that before so I am totally fine with traveling in style

Aevelyn, Shiloh, that's perfectly fine by me. Do it whichever way you prefer.
There are actually rules for catnip as a drug! In the Familiar Folio! I think it would be hilarious.
Tavitha
Sorry I didn't get anything in over the weekend. Anyway, picked Tavitha's real name and her baby's, and bought some more equipment. I went all out for a masterwork backpack to serve as the Papoose, bought a separate waterskin, and 5 lbs. of powdered milk for now.
Unbidden Malediction grew up still honored by her people, but also feared due to their superstition. Although their community was insular, there were other races that shared their cavernous 'city', and she spent much of her time with youths of other races -- shunning her own kind's layered wrappings, and often skipping out on her training. She came to learn a little of the surface, and even met a few uplanders who passed thru their caves over the years.
As she came of age the clan's Caller decided she had grown too distant from her own kind and needed stronger ties to the clan. The Caller took her as a wife, though the Owb forbid her to ever bear a child, decreeing that such a tainted youth would be put to death on its blanching. When Unbidden Malediction first knew she was pregnant she took the life of her 'husband' and stole off into the caverns. The furthest place she knew of was the surface, the Uplands, and she decided she would go there.
She reached the surface not long before giving birth. Although her son would never undergo the blanching, she named him Luminous Gloom per their traditions. Though born a creature of darkness, the Owb would never steal his light. Meanwhile she chose to take the name Tavitha for herself, the name of a Drow friend from a childhood, and a name more similar to the Uplanders she now lived with.

I really want to play in the Darklands. Sadly my one attempt the DM dropped out.
Tavitha that seems rather interesting. She seems like she needs a hug
Tavitha
I really want to pick up the book on the Darklands... =P
I hope I didn't go too dark or cliche with the background; I just wanted Tavitha to have a good reason to leave home and to begin worshiping Laivatiniel along the way.
Shiloh Darrow
I for one love a dark backstory, or dark stories in general. Angst and drama are my favorites!
Shiloh Darrow
Are we able to see the baby or just the bundle?
Nysene Ratarion
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Am I the only one that giggles every time I read the 'speak with babies of its kind' part of that feat? :3
Also, don't exactly have a hometown pinned down yet but I do think that Nysene would've spent some time at Citadel Dinyar in Isger in the past...
Shiloh Darrow
Now that you mentioned it I smiled.
Shiloh Darrow
My cats are flipping out from the catnip!
Shiloh Darrow
Yep. So far Shiloh has told no one about her.
Cherry Candlewick
Sorry about inconsistent posting the past few days. I've been in the middle of moving back to school and I'm finally settled in and starting classes tomorrow, so I should be back to a more regular schedule from now on. I'll have an IC post up in a bit.
Aevelyn BlackHair
I just noticed a HUGE flaw with the composition of this team we have. Not only do we not have any way to heal ourselves, but no one is trained in the Heal skill either! This is something we will need to remedy once we reach 2nd level, he he.
Of course if Nysene dies here, then I think we all know who the replacement character should be ;)
Shiloh Darrow
The spell is not even on my list or anyone's list I think. Hehe we are wise! Wands are going to be very helpful.
Though since I am planning on being the support character I would be willing to sink one level into cleric. I could pick up a Phylactery of Positive Channeling once we have the gold for it of course. But that is completely contingent on Samy saying I can channel positive energy.
Cherry Candlewick
I have Cure stuff on my spell list. I just didn't take it at first because I only get 2 spells at first level and felt it wasn't Cherry's style :) but I am planning to add it next level.
Shiloh Darrow
Brilliant! I still have never bothered to look into the Inquisitor.

We'll let ideas bubble to the surface for a few days before making any hasty decisions. Maybe somebody dies and we'll remake a character. Maybe we'll use the Ultimate Campaign rules for retraining a level. Maybe I'll allow for just a straight out rebuild. We'll see. I'll let it percolate a few days.
Nysene Ratarion
No worries Samy; I mainly just wanted to throw it out there as a potential option since I'm not that attached to Nysene's current build yet, seeing as we've only just started :)
Of course if this guy and his dog manage to beat everyone to death then we'll all be rolling new characters anyway :P
Breezelee "Breeze" Krolmnite
Samy, I don't know where I saw it but I'm pretty sure that if you score a hit in Pathfinder, you do at minimum one point of damage even if you roll a zero or below on damage dice, like when I hit the Second dog. I don't know if anyone else knows this rule, or if I am mistaken with it, but I'm pretty sure I saw it once upon a time.
Cherry Candlewick
Ahh darn, I think I forgot to include the penalty from being sickened on my round 3 rolls. So those should all be 2 less than what they are, whoops.
Aevelyn BlackHair
Not in official PF rules Samy. A '1' rolled is just an Auto-miss. Now there are house rules out there that incorporate Critical miss rules, or Fumbles as they were know before, but that is entirely up to you if you want to incorporate them here.
