It is a little distracting. If you can easily find one that you're happy with, that would be great. But I'm sure I could learn to live with it too, so if you can't find another avatar in five minutes then just keep that one.

I have written up some more of the background for Cherry, but it's still definitely subject to change. I need to also look at everyone else's characters and see if I can tie in my backstory to any of them.

I don't know that much about Asmodeus in PF lore so I also need to look over more campaign setting stuff about his church's doctrines to figure out more of how Cherry will respond to things. I wasn't aware of him being a misogynist deity at first and can't seem to find much information about it? But since the ruler of Cheliax is a Queen and she worships him, I figure that any sexism in his doctrines is still enough to let me be his inquisitor without that being too exceptional.

There's also the fact that outside the Whore Queens (which are in Hell more or less what Abrogail is on the material plane, women who clawed their way to the top in a system rigged against them) and Erinyes, pretty much all devils are male, reflecting a men-first society in Hell.

But certainly Golarion and Cheliax would be more tolerant than Hell. By definition the planes are more extreme than the material plane, since they reflect certain ideologies "purely". In the material world, Golarion's society has been established as comparatively enlightened, so I wouldn't say that women in Cheliax have it anywhere near as bad as in Hell -- if only for the simple fact that not everybody in Cheliax worships Asmodeus, and the Asmodean church has to live with and adapt to the morals of all the rest of the religions around them.

Short version: Absolutely do not worry about being an inquisitor. Be what you want to be.

Hmmm...normally I would say that it'd be a mix of Asmodeus (despite the misogyny) and Abadar but given the flavor of Wannabe Hero...hmm...

I'm thinking that a lot of Nysene's internal conflict might be on a subconscious level. Like, she's seen the evidence and grown up among the 'might makes right' and 'the strong must rule the weak for their own good' sorts of viewpoints and they even make sense to her. But buried underneath all of that is the wish that she didn't have to resort to violence and intimidation to protect her homeland's interests. That maybe instead of having to use 'tough love' (so to speak) to keep people in line, it would be possible to use it to make the weak stronger and to help them stand on their own two feet.

So...it sounds like on the surface it would still largely be Asmodeus & Abadar but I'm thinking there's a lot about Torag's dogma that speaks to her on a personal level, too.

Re: start time - I should more or less be good with that, though I am working the next two nights (Thursday & Friday) so I might be a little sparse until Saturday morning depending on how busy or slow work ends up being. I'll catch up if need be :)

Don't worry about slow DAA. It will no doubt take additional days from the first gameplay post to the first combat, so you should have plenty of time to finalize the character. As should everyone. Start of gameplay doesn't need to match up with end of chargen. You just need to have enough of your character to be able to get in her head a little and do some RP.

I am sharing this so you get to see how I feel about my job and because it is adorable.

Ok so I am going to change up her meeting with the Eidolon, Valrah, a little bit. She met Valrah on her way to the coven. Valrah saved her from what would have been an bad encounter with some men she passed on the country roads. The men were chased off before to much damage could be done but both Shiloh and Valrah were injured. They felt a connection.

By bonding to Shiloh the Eidolon was able to avoid Heavens radar, since they are never happy to have an Angel leave. The Infernal blood that is commonly present in Chelaxian blood had a strong effect on Valrah.

Mechanically this gives the Devil subtype. And I am going with Valrah willingly leaving Heaven but not necessarily for Hell more for freedom.

Shiloh did not tell Valrah that she was heading to a Hag Coven, primarily because she was not aware that was her destination. I will work on fleshing that bit out some after I have gotten some sleep.

I have added a little to the appearance part and her religious views are now on the profile. Also some bits on her personality.

Down the line you may receive approaches from potential romantic interests. If it is not too uncomfortable, please indicate whether you would like to receive approaches (if any) from: male, female, both or neither.

This does *not* necessarily have to correspond with your character's actual preference (although it certainly may) -- for example you could play a woman who constantly trips other women's gaydars and gets approached by women, but actually has no interest in them.

While I envision Aevelyn as being straight here, she is still intrigued about intimacy with another female. I would imagine if someone catches her fancy, she would be willing to...experiment here ;)

As to the potential romantic stuff. Normally my PCs fall in line with mine and like all genders but in this case I am going to go with ladies. Not that is currently something she has considered but the idea of being with a man does not seem appealing, never has for her. So she likes girls but has not idea currently. I am perfectly fine with men trying, if the right one shows up maybe but I doubt it.

So I am having issues figuring out what to spend the 200gp on since it must be a single item and non-magical. So I am torn between the fuctionality of getting a composite longbow for my Eidolon. So it has a ranged weapon or on a single gemstone she would wear as an amulet. The gem has appeal because of the Night Hag. They have the Heartstone with all of its wonderful magical effects. And I am wondering if I get the expensive stone would I be able to later get it enchanted to grant the bonus to saves and disease immunity/resistance that a Heartstone grants its holder?

She would have lost the one the Hags gave her that was going to be her Heartstone, since that is way more money than I would get as a level one. But she would try to replicate it.

I'd buy a collapsible trampoline, but that's just me. :P

My home campaign has an inside joke where whenever someone is looking at the equipment list and doesn't know what to buy we always suggest a ridiculous amount of live chickens... a chicken is only 2 cp... that's ten thousand chickens! Too bad it's only one item :P

I'm fine with romantic advances from NPCs of either gender. I don't see Cherry as having much experience with romance, so who knows what her preferences are at this point.

(Like DAA most of my PCs tend to mirror my own preference which is straight, but I think I'll leave Nysene's a little more open. As to which she prefers more, if any, well...we'll find out as we go!)

I may be scarce over the next 2-3 days as I'm off to the countryside and don't know how much free time or net connection I will have. Odds are that I will be able to do at least occasional check-ins, but don't be surprised if I'm on low activity. Normal activity should resume late on Sunday.

Sunday actaully works great for me. My Saturday just filled up.

Concerning the money. Samy do you have an issue with the Heartstone and my, assuming the game keeps going, enchanting it like a Heartstone.

But I have had another idea. Aevelyn and Shiloh could go in together and buy a horse or two and a nice carriage so that we can travel in style :D

I don't see a problem with Shiloh buying an expensive gem that she can enchant later on.

But unfortunately we can't wait and hold a spot for him forever, so I am revoking Jedoric's invitation and moving to the next person. I will be sending a PM to the next person.

Ok I was just wanting to make sure. Some people have issues with putting enchantments on items the are different than the standard. Not a cloak of resistance but a necklace instead.

OK all the Eidolon needs is a feat and I am not sure what I want there but otherwise she is done. Please let me know if anything need to change or I messed something up.

And would you be ok with our PC being distant cousins? I am having Shilohs father die before the baby she was swapped with was born. In a society that men run it is very likely that her mother would return home. This, at least in my mind, would give them a reason to not only bring Shiloh back home but to put their two problem children together. The two most likely never spent much time together before this.

DAA: After looking through the Wiki, I saw two good candidates for a city. The first is Westcrown and the second is Corentyn. As you can see on the map Westcrown is closer by far to Longacre plus it has a bunch of Noble houses in and around the city. So, with Samy's approval, I will select Westcrown as the city she is from.

I do like the distant cousins aspect too! It will bring an interesting dynamic to our role-playing too :D

Ok so Shiloh would have been born and raised under your House when her mother sought refugee after the murder of her husband. I am putting her pappa as being from Senara, assuming Samy is ok with that. It is a lovely little city in the creepy woods and full of Devil-Spawn. It would be those woods Shiloh returns to to find the Hag Coven.

Nysene I looked into the Godclaw and they seem fascinating! I had never heard of them before this.

All of the above is okay. For Breeze's questions, yes Rogues have d6 hit dice and two of the bonus feats (Single Mother and Wannabe Hero) are done but the third (Substance Abuser) is still under consideration. If Aevelyn decides against, and you're cool with it, then you're welcome to it. :)

I'm gonna start working on a gameplay thread first post. Expect it within the first hour or two.

The first gameplay post is away. Of especial note is that none of the information roleplayed in the recruitment thread has occurred. No crusade of any sort has been waged against Cheliax in recent times, and Abrogail Thrune II rules the country with a solid grip.

Depending what Aevelyn decides, I could take it. Would the every hour issue include sleeping hours?

Doesn't really make a difference to me. If you want not, that's fine. I've known plenty of people who need to have a cigarette first thing in the morning before they can do anything else, so I could see it including sleeping hours. But either's fine by me. It really doesn't make any difference to me whether you have the first drink/cig/hit 1 minute from wakeup or 60 minutes from wakeup. The main point is using substances all along the day in general instead of just being able to do it once per day at some convenient time (like after all the day's adventuring is done) and be done with it.

Longacre probably doesn't have a lot of catfolk, which presents some questions in conjunction with being Local Tough. The trait says you were born here -- are your parents/siblings dead, or did they move away from Longacre? Or are they still here. Longacre's stat block does state that there are "51 other" (not human, not halfling) people in Longacre so that could include half a dozen catfolk if we want it to.

Samy: I think I will go ahead and pass on the Substance Abuse feat for now. I do like the idea she did partake of such substances earlier in her life and was 'cured' at great expense to her family. Another black mark against her, he he. I may consider having Aevelyn go through a relapse when she gets addicted again as the game progresses.
