Homework!

Step one for this adventure is for you to do a brief self-audit and provide me some important background information.

Please go to this folder and fill out the documents with your name on them.

One is a spreadsheet audit of your chronicles. This is to confirm that you are in fact at exactly 33xp and to provide me a list of what scenarios this character has played.

The other is a background document where you provide me some key stats, tell me about unusual or particularly effective things you do, and write up a little story in character for me.

While you are doing this, I will be getting everything together so we can get started. Please post here to let me know you're getting started, then again when you have completed your homework.

I use an excel spreadsheet (which you can view at this location) which shows all XP and fame earned, and all gold and prestige expenditures. Is that adequate or do you really really want a level by level breakdown?

I am on vacation until the end of the week and don't have my chronicles with me but can start filling in the background based on sessions and some online sheets I can access here.

I finished the audit sheet and still need to do the background sheet. Marta will be spending 3228 at the beginning of the scenario (includes purchasing an extra lesser metamagic rod of extend and some other misc. things like potions), and 11K at the end of the first scenario for a ring of tactical precision.

Sorry for the late update. On vacation now till the 17th, so slower on checking on things.

Will start working on the audit and background but apologies it's going to take me a while. Also, some of my chronicles are hardcopies which I don't have with me. I'll fill in what I can first though.

Vacationing in St Augustine, FL and will head down to the center of Florida to visit my mother tomorrow. We head home Friday.

Fendahl's character sheet is updated to 12th level. Audit still in work. I was able to pull all but two scenarios and dates from Paizo. The other two sessions were never recorded and GM abandoned or neglected reporting. I have the chronicles at home and will update Saturday.

I just wanted to clarify the "essay question": I am looking for a description of a single event or adventure that was either extremely significant to your character, or otherwise stands out as an important chapter in their time as a pathfinder. Something that helps define the who the character is.

At the beach in Florida sounds pretty great. Winter is just starting to bite here.

I was probably off the mark on my essay for Fendahl then. I will take another pass at it once we reach home.

And Luisila I really considered strongly about playing Omrax on this just for the chance to reunite one last mission. However a paladin would not mesh well with the party makeup. He also does not bring the variety of strategic or tactical options on this type of potentially lethal mission.

I very much enjoyed running Ironbound Schism for Fendahl and Kirrah.

Playing on this side of the screen with the Death Kitty and her Master will Hrmmm, definitely be a treat!

Updated background and audit form. Should be pretty close now. I think I am off by one PP someplace, but I will find it before we start.

So it appears we have 4 full (or nearly so) casters, with two large animal companions. Unless I am mistaken, I would assume Marta fills one of our main front-line fighter roles, possibly with Kirrah and/or Fendahl, although Luisila may be the toughest of us all.

Summons would probably provide our punch if we need to hit like a full-BAB fighter.

GM - Is it too soon to dot into the game play? I will be traveling to Seattle a week from today for business. If we expect to start by then, it would help to keep the thread visible on our main campaign pages.

I was thinking along those lines as well. Can Fendahl and Myrdon summon as a standard action?

Four casters that can all do 6th level spells should help make it easier for the damage dealers.

I played with Myrdon and Aegis II in a high tier Race for the Runecarved Key. You two pack quite a punch! And that was with Myrdon casting 5th level spells.

Luisila is designed to take a hit and keep healing/buffing the frontline (her own physical damage output is terrible). She will likely spend a lot of time adjacent to Marta and Kirrah.

Fendahl can summon cats as a standard. Augmented Dire tigers and lions with starlight summons. Unfortunately none having celestial template. DR can be a problem.

Marta's big weakness is her AC. She can get a nice AC but she needs to have a mage shield and shield of faith going, cast shield, and activate her judgment to do so. If any of the spellcasters could help with that it would go a long way towards making her a durable front liner. Otherwise, unless she has some beef up front with her she will not last until round 3 or even 2.

She carries a pearl of power and runestone of power to allow a caster to cast mage armor on her for free (at double duration using her rod) if any of you have that spell. I'm guessing, even without looking, that with that many casters we have that covered.

Also, if anyone is knowledgeable about the erratas, could you check her character sheet in case I missed one? I just now updated it for the dusty rose prism/wayfinder errata I stumbled across.

Haste and blessing of fervor will also help. My Fighter 10 doesn’t have a great AC and rarely has healing support. She gets through by destroying the enemy quickly (~3-4 rounds).

I believe saving throws to be more important than AC at these levels. Unless they roll a 1, a frontline opponent at Level 12 WILL hit any reasonable AC with its first attack. You are really boosting your AC to try and fend of iteratives (and even then they still have a 5% chance of rolling a 20).

Marta will have Luisila’s healing and summoned critters to support her on the front line. Fendahl brings up a good point about DR –– is Marta able to overcome DR OK?

I can get Fendahl and Kirrah 's AC close to 35-40 with barkskin and one or two other pre-buffs. Kirrah can fill the front line role for awhile . Although after her initial pounce, her effectiveness drops.

It does not stack with mage armor, unfortunately, and gives a smaller bonus. So it has little use for me at this point.

So, I've done my best with the audit, but it appears as though I'm now left with about twice as much gold as I thought (3,953 VS 1,765). I don't know what to say. I can't think of anything else I'd have spent gold on.

That's actually why I do this audit - half the time players find they have shorted themselves somewhere. Look over your gear, and if everything is accounted for in your tracking sheet, make a note of the correction so I can mark it on your chronicle.

Alright, sorry this took a while, but I think I've completed Myrdon's audit correctly, and also levelled him up (as well as Aegis II, his animal companion). I'm still short of the Essay Question, and need a bit more time to think about it. And also some purchases to make at the start of the scenario.

It looks like not everyone is noticing the additional sheets in the Audit spreadsheet. The first sheet is the chronicle audit, the second is a breakdown of attack, damage, saves, and other key values. I know it's a lot, but it really does help me to keep things moving later one.

Oops - yep, totally missed the 3rd tab. I have updated with Fendahl's stats.

I had a couple questions:
1) For long term buffs...how long is long enough?
For instance, extended barkskin is 160 mins (almost 3 hours, so is usually active most combats, but not cast in the morning).
Extended Greater Magic Fang for Kirrah the Lion is 16 hours. So is cast every morning, but would run out before the next morning.

2) Fendahl may change shapes, so his primary attack can vary wildly by his current form (Dire Tiger is most common).

Do you need similar stats sheet for Animal Companions?

I don't need a full sheet for animal companion / summoned creatures, but if you have abilities that boost them notably above normal, mention them.

Looks like I've accounted for everything. Record my starting gold as 823 (since I discovered I had the money, I spent most of it on a powerful new wand from a previous Chronicle for Qadathra!).

Some of the numbers are variable, like the dragon ferocity bonus which gives a +8 to the first attack and +6 to the second attack. Another one that pops to mind is furious focus, though I don't have that one. How would you like us to handle that?

I also have some spells like heroism and heightened awareness that apply more often than not. I added them in. Other less frequent bonuses I put a ~ in front, such as the inquisitor judgment bonuses. Strip the tilda and the spreadsheet will include the bonus, otherwise it does not go into the calcs. Is that OK?

I'm sorry, I don't see where we're supposed to put this stuff.

In addition to the audit sheet, I see a page each for:

- basic information ("Name, job, 'n all that rot, eh?")
- "Shenanigans" (which I interpret as weird shit, or at least obscure or complicated, not routine or simple)
- a short story

Excel can be structured as 'workbooks' which have multiple 'worksheets'. If you wait a few seconds for this one to load you will see a couple of tabs at the BOTTOM of the window. You may travel from worksheet to worksheet by clicking on the tab. The information you are looking for is accessed via the second tab.

Sadly, it is not. Only effects that are always active count, with the exception of Crafter's Fortune, which John Compton has stated is allowed for crafting day jobs.

Thanks for the clarification. I knew there was some restriction like that, but I hoped with 20 active ours...
