Round 2
G'Boar: Shoots but misses...

G'Boar is grabbing another arrow to continue his ranged attack against the Troglodyte when he sences the croc turn, leaving itself vulnerable. He jabs the arrow he has in his dominate hand at the non-toothy end of the reptile, attempting to ram the razor sharp broadhead into the creature's vital organs, however the impressive speed of the croc has it clear of danger before the arrow can find its target.

As it finishes a series of gestures and throaty arcane sounds, an awful, scuttling mass of legs and mandibles scrambles forward out of the stairs, surrounding Toldyn and Brock! The sight of a carpet of swarming spiders is unsettling indeed — particularly when the swarm is made up of spiders each the size of a gold coin and possessing blade-like mandibles capable of lacerating flesh with sickening ease. Toldyn and Brock are covered in the creatures, suffering 1d6 ⇒ 4 points of damage each. So you roll d20-4 and have to score a 10 or more, or you lose another HP and have to check again at -5, and so on. Click here for details on dying. The good news is Brock helps you out below!!
Harethvain: With the crocodile dead, Harethvain instead casts a ray of frost at the swarm of spiders covering his colleagues, but the spiders are too nimble and small for him to kill more than a handful...
Toldyn:
Brock: DC11 Fort save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
DC14 Concentration check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Luckily, Brock is not affected by the venom from the spider bites. The attack is enough to break his concentration, however, and his inspiring oration comes to an abrupt halt. He runs away from the swarm, hoping to shake the arachnids loose as he goes...and stops by the fallen Terpsicore. He kneels, makes an arcane gesture and utters a phrase, and healing warmth spreads over the prone woman, stabilizing her. (And healing 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 HP!)
Tasskar: DC16 Concentration check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Spider swarm: The swarm focuses its attention solely on Toldyn, who goes down in a screaming pile on the floor. Now motionless, the half-elf somehow is moving towards the staircase...

Deciding to take active measures to end the existence of the Trog, G'Boar casts his bow aside and sprints towards the abhorrent manifestation of disgust, drawing his sword, death in his eyes.
"Damnú ort cac ar oineach, póg mo thóin!"

For Round 3, G'Boar closes the 30' gap between himself and the caped crapsader!

G'Boar - wondering what your melee and damage modifiers are? You should have +3 attack (2 from STR and 1 from BAB). You get +2 to damage for strength. For a while you had a bonus from Brock's bard performance but that ended when he was swarmed. Troglodytes are not 'animals' so you don't get favored enemy bonuses. Also, for ranged attacks you use DEX and BAB for attacks but don't get STR bonus to damage unless you have a composite bow. Thought I'd check since this is a learning game and I don't want to assume =) Thanks!

Male Human Ranger-1 | AC 17 T 12 FF 13 | HP 13/13 | F +4 R +5 W +2 | CMB=3 CMD=16 | Init +3 | Perc +5

On my last longsword melee attack, there is a +1 base attack bonus (bab), +2 Str modifier, and +2 flanking bonus (with Terps). I might have added an additional +2 to my damage for the flanking bonus (unsure if the bonus was for both atk and dmg or just the atk, so I could have screwed that up). I was puzzled how to do damage x2 from the critical hit/ confirm since the [dice] code doesn't multiply...

For ranged attacks, the Ranger gets his +1 for his bab, +3 for his Dex bonus, and then if it is within '30 feet he gets a +1 to hit Feat bonus (point blank shot). G'Boar has a composite longbow (it is the only possession he still has from father), so for damage rolls he gets his strength modifier (+2) and then another +1 if it is within '30 from point blank shot.

I have had an absolute blast with this experience... I only wish I could find more games to participate in!

Got it! The flanking bonus only applies to attack roll, but I didn't look at the map and forgot that. Awesome, dude!! For crit damage you just roll the damage again.

Unfortunately, you don't get an AoO when the opponent takes a 5' step. That's one of two exceptions to getting an AoO when leaving a threatened square. So, I will take your first roll and add a flanking bonus to it, which will definitely hit, but take your second damage roll (because you've rolled enough natural 1s!) Flanking only gives an attack bonus - not damage - so you will do 9 points of damage. ;-)

With a final, mighty swing, G'Boar brings down the troglodyte leader!! A search of the corpse reveals it had a masterwork scimitar, a fine cloak that looks especially resistant to damage, and a set of keys. In the large wooden chest next to the throne you find a masterwork short sword, 15 shurikens made from cold iron, two flasks of acid, two potions, a wand, and amethyst, and 247 gp in assorted coins.

On the way back out, Maldor Brock catches up with you, looking worse for wear! You collectively mourn the loss of Kayla, and shudder at the loss of Toldyn. He offers to take you to the Pathfinder Society's Grand Lodge in Absalom, where he will sponsor you for membership. He explains that the Pathfinder Society is a large organization of explorers, archaeologists, and adventurers who undertake missions across Golarion.

Of course, back at the Happy Cow, your patron is pleased to see you return, and especially the treasures you discovered. He will let you keep one weapon or armor and one magic item each, but insists on taking the jade statue of an angelic being, the banner with the bird of living flame, and the wand. The treasure found is turned in, but Rhanloi Ehlyss pays you each 250gp for exploring the tower.

Congratulations - you have competed the adventure!

The keys open doors that Terpsicore has already opened, or were to the manacles. The magic items you will eventually identify as a cloak of resistance +1; wand of summon monster I; potion of cat's grace; potion of lesser restoration; and in the altar room you found a scroll of shatter and a scroll of shield other.

Male Half-Elf Wizard-1 | AC 12 Touch 12 FF 10| HP 7/7 | Fort +1 Ref +2 Will +3 (+5 vs mind-affecting, enchantment) | CMB -1 CMD 11 | Init +2 | Perception +3|

Though the cloak would be useful to Harethvain, he recognizes that G'Boar is more likely to need it, given his proximity to the front of combat. The scroll of shatter, of course, Harethvain could transcribe into his spell book at a later date (shield other is not on the wizard spell list). The potions could be useful, though not particularly to Harethvain.
