After some consideration, I've decided to cut the survival tracking portion of the campaign. I find it tedious to monitor, which makes my posting infrequent when I need to do so.
I'm not sure what I'll replace it with, but I'll inform everybody when I find out.

GM,
What's your view on knowledge checks when the appropriate knowledge is related (within reason) to the characters backstory? For instance, Rolar fought with a mercenary company all over southeastern Nirmathas but I do not have knowledge geography. Am I am to just assume he has no knowledge of the region at all or is he allowed to know major landmarks and the such based on his backstory?
That's a good question. Usually, I'd just post common knowledge in a spoiler, but I think I might have a better idea.
Is anybody opposed to adding Background Skills to this game?
Background Skills:
Background Skills are an optional rule introduced in the Pathfinder Unchained book. Essentially, you have two free skill ranks per level to place into specific skills. This represents your character's job or interests prior to their adventuring career.
The skills are: Appraise, Artistry, Craft, Handle Animal, Knowledge (engineering), Knowledge (geography), Knowledge (history), Knowledge (nobility), Linguistics, Lore, Perform, Profession, and Sleight of Hand.
Artistry (Int) is a new skill like Craft, Perform, and Profession, in that it is actually a number of different skills, the most common of which are choreography, criticism, literature, composition, philosophy, and playwriting. Like Craft, Artistry is a skill focused on creating something.
Lore (Int) is a new skill that represents a more thorough and more narrow area of knowledge than the Knowledge skill allows for. The category of a Lore skill can vary widely from that of another Lore skill. It could be regional (such as a city or country), about a discipline (such as cryptography), or related to a narrow set of people (such as famous musicians). The scope of region-based Lore skills can also refer to specific subcategories, such as taverns in a particular region.

My apologies, guys! I fear when I built Sekter, I already did with Background Skills. My bad! In that matter - I'm all for Background Skills, and if for some reason we decide not to go for it, I'll modify my sheet accordingly to remove them.

I personally love background skills! They allow us to add the flavor a character needs to be filled out, without having to sacrifice our more class dependent skills.

Hey team! Sorry about the lack of updates - Paizo’s outage unfortunately was combined with some issues here at work and I’m having to put out some fires. I should go back to normal posting next week. Please feel free to bot me!

Hey folks, we still playing? All the forum issues messed up my routine and I haven’t check the post since last week. Looks like I didn’t miss much as no new posts are up.

Sorry, I’m here. I got out of the habit of checking every day and now I keep forgetting!

I’ll be back in gameplay thread tomorrow and back on track to be posting once a day

I promise I'm going to get better about posting! My wife and I are having baby #4 tomorrow, our first girl, AND I'm taking my capstone class to finish up a degree. Ironically, it's not a time issue. It's a remembering to get on and check the thread issue!

Alexandra was born on October 1st at 1:30pm. We’re back home and adjusting to life with our new little one. I’ll defer to the majority about recruitment as I have no preference. Fewer people means less work for the GM modifying encounter CR’s.
Sorry about my lack of posting! Between the forum servers being down, then my loss of stable internet for a few weeks, and the election season (I work in politics) getting rougher and rougher, I have been out of the swing of things online.
I will post later today when I get done with my canvassing!

Hey Nisa, can you provide any more info on your companion? I'm trying to differentiate what I as a person know vs. what Rolar knows. It appears it's talking to you telepathically? Is this a visible companion? If I saw you whispering to it would it be obvious you're talking to it or would it appear you are talking to yourself?
Yes, sorry for the confusion. It is a Tiny Wood Elemental that is more or less part of my conscious, and it speaks to me telepathically. While its bonded to me that is the only way it can speak, and it works to give me the Alertness feat (I lose it while it is materialized.)
It can speak out loud as well but only when it materializes. You can hear me talk to it out loud. While normally a character could just speak to it in their mind, my character developed talking to it out-loud so she would feel less alone while surviving in the woods for a few years.

GM R0B0GEISHA,
Was I supposed to take damage when I got hit by that bolt? I didn't see a reflex save or a damage roll but the narrative said it hit me in the shoulder.
Also, how does initiative work in pbp? It looks like it's a bit flexible as three of the PC's get to act first in any order, but after that who goes? I didn't see where the undead ended up in any initiative order. Does it go before me? after me?
It was an attack roll that I rolled in a spoiler, but I forgot to mention the damage. Rolar took 9 damage from the trap.
Initiative tends to vary from GM to GM. I run it in blocks.
For example, the initiative order rolled like this: Skalla, Nisa, Dalvin, lynx, Rolar, Rayne, then Keloch. Rather than have each actor post in order, I separate them into blocks that can sort of act simultaneously.
In this case, Skalla, Nisa, and Dalvin can act first. Then I'll post the lynx's actions while resolving the PC's turns. Then Rolar and Rayne can act. Then I post Keloch's actions. And on and on.

Yep, that makes sense. I'll wait for the Lynx then take my move. Thanks!

Ack!! I’m so sorry, I’m still here. I’ve been playing Kingmaker on the PC and it’s totaly distracting me!

Argh!!! Sorry again! I was at a Leadership Team stratigic planning offsite and nobody bothered to tell me BEFORE I got there that there was no internet and very intermittent cell phone coverage.
Guys, I want to apologize for the glacial pace. Lately, I've been struggling quite a bit with posting consistently with all of my games. Unfortunately—when I do that and let things slide—it makes me feel even worse about it, which just leads to me avoiding posting even more.
A recent conversation has me fired up, and I'm going to try to set a more consistent pace for the adventure. A good PbP game requires consistency and communication and I've been failing on those fronts.
I was planning for what comes next in the AP and all of the encounters seemed pretty high. So I crunched the numbers on XP and you hit level 3. Congrats!
Your kinetic blast surrounds your foes in elemental matter. Whenever a blast with this infusion deals damage to a foe, that foe becomes entangled for 1 minute. The foe can remove this condition as a standard action with a successful Escape Artist or Strength check (with the same DC as for saves against your kinetic blast) or by dealing an amount of damage to the entangling matter equal to double your kineticist level (the matter has hardness 0). If the foe was already entangled by this infusion and fails its save against a second instance of this infusion, the increased amount of elemental matter fuses to the ground, causing the foe to be rooted in place as though anchored to an immobile object.
Unfortunately, it seems like the only companion that really benefits from Skalla's song is Drako. The Con buff would help Nisa, but only when she has an odd Con score.
