"Oh, how horrible! Any idea what this evil force is?"
"And this other cave? What is down there?"

Ling observes the discussion but does not contribute. Instead he gets closer to the miniature city to take a better look, provided the gillman does not object.

"Oh, how horrible! Any idea what this evil force is?"
"And this other cave? What is down there?"
I do not know what caused their transformation... The other tunnel is the way out. He buries his head in his hands and begins prayer.
Ling, as a reminder.
Rising up from the pool is a column of rock with steeply sloped sides and a flat top, as if someone had sawn off the top of a massive stalagmite. A miniature city carved from this same stone occupies nearly the entire surface. Tiny trinkets such as ancient coins, polished semi-precious stones, and ornately braided loops of string are scattered throughout the diorama, and pale cave frogs clamber atop it. The smooth cavern floor is covered in gravel and pebbles along the edge of the pool, and several foot-long centipedes prowl among the gravel in their search for prey.

![]() |

I assume that the surface/model city is below eye level?
Ling is unsure what to do with the intriguing model, but is fascinated by its detail.

![]() |

Not a religions man and not much of one for toy cities, Ling dismisses it and wades off towards the passage to the east.

![]() |

"Let's make some quick notes about the model and then take care of this evil."
"Notes smotes, I remember things best with my gut. I'm for the smiting. Why I remember this one time we all together in the woods and this swarm of killer mosquitos attacked Deacon, and Vinegar and me had to save the day. I remember it like it was yesterday."

Ling, please update your stats in the Character Details spreadsheet in the header above.
The cave’s damp air becomes increasingly stale as you
continue down through this tunnel, and as you approach
this area, the stench of decay grows increasingly evident.
The passage turns to the east and opens into a small
cavern littered with bits of broken glass, rotting pieces
of paper, and other unusable detritus.

Molly moves closer to the battle and plucks out a jaunty tune on her lute. She begins to sing a song about how the great Pathfinder Gloriana Featherbottom defeated skeletons in her younger days with only a wayfinder, three pieces of chalk, a pink feather and a pound of soap! Despite her song's absurdity, the ingeniousness of Miss Featherbottom is quite inspiring!

(Assumedly) seeing the bag of bones crumble, he returns the favor to Oli and moves into a flank with him on the one with the tattered yellow boot.
Fair assumption.
Ling swings the nodachi with both hands in a powerful motion and catches the skeleton in the remaining spinal cord, severing it in half.
Deacon will owe an action so we can move this along today, Skelly doesn't stand a chance here.

The final skeleton is dashed apart by Oli's morningstar.
The body of a male dhampir lies facedown toward the back of the cavern. Creatures: The deceased dhampir was a necromancer who used this cave as a secluded place to practice his craft, but following a mistake while animating a dead gillman, his creations turned on him.
Among the fallen bodies, you find a note written by the dhampir that details plans to start an army of undead made from the “fish people” who have been frequenting this cave.
Following a search you find: +1 amulet of natural armor and +1 longsword.

During that search, Deacon finds a secret passage from this tunnel in the north wall. Will the party follow the passage or take another path?

"Got it! ...Hey, where's that go?"

![]() |

Molly finishes her song with a flourish, then smiles at Droo.
"Mystery and adventure! "
She slides her lute out of the way and searches the body. She slips the amulet around her neck with a smile, and passes the magical longsword off to the others. "Anyone want a fine blade?"
Just as they're about to move on, Molly strikes up a soothing tune on her lute, before setting off down the tunnel with the others.

![]() |

Hmph. What would a bard need with an amulet like that.
A sour grapes mental response soon follows the thought, even though he would have snagged the item had he gotten there first. Thing is, he had no way of knowing what it was until a magic caster told him.
I don't need it anyway. Those skeletons couldn't touch me!
"Well, a secret door seems intriguing. How do you open it?"

![]() |

"In all the books I read about adventures they go through secret passages and finding treasure and more fights."
Kicks and punches fly about, " guard, turn, parry, dodge, spin, ha, thrust, chop, punch, stab."

![]() |

The mechanism for the secret passage is simple enough. Light shines 10 ft from the secret door. You begin to hear the faint sounds of combat and a familiar woman’s voice half-shouting and half-reciting, “As the legendary Gregaro Voth successfully battled the wild beasts in the deepest reaches of the Mwangi Expanse, so shall I defeat you, foul servant of Lamashtu!”
You emerge from the cave and Janira is facing off against the minotaur from before. She takes a step back and attempts to disarm it with his whip.
