"CHARGE!"
Droo guides Vinegar through underbrush and over the stream!
She draws her lance, and yells a challenge at the minotaur.

![]() |

"Oh, dearie me! We're coming, Janira!"
Molly hurries forward and pulls out her shortbow!

![]() |

Presuming Ling is taking some move actions, I'll start the next round so the group can post while I sleep.
Janira steps back again and attempts to stick the minotaur in his tracks with a tanglefoot bag.
throw tanglefoot bag: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
The bag hits the minotaur squarely in the abdomen and will have a hard time swinging her weapon.
mino reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
The minotaur is hampered but not glued to her position. She moves towards Janira and strikes again.
battleaxe 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
battleaxe 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
gore: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
The minotaur keeps missing, a blessing for Janira for who you are at the border of rescue.

Deacon
Oli

Droo
Ling, feel free to take your first round and second round actions now. The rest of the party is up.

Ling runs up to the creek and prepares to jump it (unless he can do so this turn).

![]() |

Molly moves a little closer so she has a clear view of the minotaur, and fires her short bow...
Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 2 - 4 = 7
Piercing Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
...completely missing the massive beast!

![]() |

Ling runs up to the creek and prepares to jump it (unless he can do so this turn).
Take your second action now, please. The others have already made move actions in the previous turn. You can make an acrobatics check to jump, DC 10 to cross where you are at. I'll give you the credit of a 10ft running start to make the jump on this turn.

![]() |

acrobatics: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Ling pops over the creek with no problems.

![]() |

[dice=acrobatics]1d20
Ling pops over the creek with no problems.
Just want to make sure you use your full allotment of action. You would have move, moved in the last round. Now you can jump as part of a move (which you seem to still have movement for) and a standard action or another move action. cool?

![]() |

Sounds good. I'll move another 5' closer but no closer than that as I don't want to provoke an AoO.

![]() |

Deacon continues across the stream with a leap!
acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
hmm, wait to see if I made my jump before completing my second move action...

![]() |

We'll resolve Deacon's movement when he gets the save in.
The team continues to position themselves around the minotaur, closing with leaps over the river. Molly's bow shot sails over the minotaur. As she looks up to the passing arrow, Droo skewers her with a lance.
Janira steps back again and is emboldened by her support. She unleashes an oratory for the ages inspiring courage in the party. “Let us remember the sacrifice of the fabled Yasmin bint Faroud, favored of the Ten, who gave her life distracting Zythrustianax, draconic scourge of the Society, so dozens of junior agents could survive. Her act of benevolence is the epitome of cooperation within the Society!” Inspire Courage: +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls.
The minotaur seems unimpressed and shifts over to try to put an end to Janira.
battleaxe1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
battleaxe2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
gore: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
In her anger, she misses every strike AGAIN!

Strange. Droo, the forum seems to have eaten your post, but I did see it for 12 damage.
Actually, I ate my post when I flipped over to the map and realized I couldn't take the action I had planned on Droo taking. I thought it was funny, but Droo wasn't happy.
Last round.
"That's what I like to see Vinegar, a nice big charge targe--"
"Gormo give me strength to kick butt. Oh no a said a swear. Amen. Leave her alone.
"-the Nine Hells?! Oli? Get the heck outta the way. The other way!"
Cockatrice's Challenge +1 (1/day) (Ex) +1 to damage target, -2 AC vs. others when used, +1 damage when you are the only one threatening the target.
ride Vinegar: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
mwk lance (challenge, inspired,reach): 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 1 = 15 lance damage: 1d6 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 + 1 = 6
"GRRR!"
This round.
Her glorious charge foiled Droo directs Vinegar to keep his distance so she can poke the cowman from afar but with little 'umph' and less panache.
mwk lance (challenge, inspired, reach): 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 5 + 1 = 25 lance damage: 1d6 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 + 1 = 8
"MOOOVE OVER AND GET YOUR OWN COWMAN!"

Oil can 5ft to the spot I have moved him to if you want to charge. I don't know you wanted to.
Can't really. Once Oli jumped across the water, in front of her and Vinegar, (I assume that was Oli''s only legal move) she would have wheeled around the minotaur to get within reach range and then just fight at that range because Vinegar can't 5-foot charge. I wouldn't worry too much.

![]() |

"Whoo! This is a long way!" Molly huffs as she hurries forward a bit more. "Yeah, just a little closer here..."
She fires her bow at the minotaur again.
Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 2 + 1 - 4 = 16
Piercing Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

![]() |

Ling steps up between the diminuative halfling and the towering minotaur and takes his best shot at bloodying the spawn of Lamashtu.
To Hit Nodachi,inspired: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Damage Nodachi,inspired: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Crit Nodachi,inspired: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Damage Nodachi,inspired: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
He obviously doesn't think much of her martial prowess as he commands her to "Stay behind me! Throw some rocks or something."

Despite Deacon's excellent form, his jump comes up close and lands in the drink.
Oli stabs, Droo stings with a passing lance, Molly lands a bowshot to the thigh, and Ling lands a monstrous slice that nearly cleaves the minotaur in twain. The minotaur lies in a pool of her own blood with her soul having left her body in true death. almost down twice her CON!
Janira slumps down on her bottom, exhausted and panting. You.. what...how did you.... big sword. She pauses then to calm herself and take a breath. She applies a charge of healing wand to herself and gathers her composure. Ok, help me up then. With a bit of assistance, she dusts herself off and surveys the group. Oli, be a dear and fish Deacon out of the river, please. I'd like to address the lot of you. Popit, is that you under that enormous helmet? She draws her pen and notebook to scribble some notes and sketch the cave exit. Yes, well. Thank you. I nearly had the better of her, but things can turn rather quickly.

![]() |

With Oli's help, Deacon is out of the river. "Glad I didn't have any armor on to sink me." After a body-shake, Deacon joins the group by Janira.

![]() |

Molly finishes hurrying over to the others. "Well, that sure was one tough cookie!"
Looking at the others she asks, "You darlings alright?"

![]() |

It takes Ling a bit to extract his blade from the massive bone it got wedged in but he finally does so, cleans it off, and starts sharpening it during Janira's conference.
"Sure thing, Molly. The brute was no challenge when we took him on as a team. That must have been some game of hide-and-seek, janira, to have lasted that long and end up here."

![]() |

Droo jumps up onto the table.
"There I was! Gillmen skeletons to the right of me and more to the left of me. I was all alone, except for everybody else! They pressed in on me even as I slashed at them with my rapier like this!"
She demonstrates.

![]() |

Ling gapes at the over imaginative gnome.
"There was a bunch of religious stuff painted on the walls, and a meditative gillman in a pool with a mini city. Interesting stuff." Ling looks anything but interested. "The skeletons were an unfortunate result of a bad plan gone bad by a bad necromancer. As you know I came late and had to catch up."
He carelessly plops his haphazard and largely incomplete notes in front of Janira, then resharpens his blade for the 1000th time.

"Why, I've been composing a song all about it!" Molly remarks happily. She strikes up a song on her lute. "Weeeeell.... Let me tell you a story about a Confirmation, where the caves were dark and the pits were low! Gather round everyone and listen clooooose.... It's time to heeeeeear, a story!"
"Well, first we left from Absalom with a..."
Molly's song is very long and particularly poorly composed. But, it's quite accurate, overly thorough, and sung beautifully to a jaunty little tune.
Perform Song: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Perform Strings: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
At the end of her song she passes Janira the sketches she made of the carvings.

Three days following your test with Janira, you are summoned to a ceremony led by the Masters of Sword, Spell, and Scroll. Kreighton Shaine, who invited you to your confirmation speaks, Congratulations, Pathfinders. You have performed admirably and expertly. Janira has shared your reports of the gillmen’s cave as expected and we are quite impressed with your thoroughness and creativity. May we present to you a personalized wayfinder to signify you as a Pathfinder in the world. Remember always our principle duties: explore, report, and cooperate. Good luck on your future adventures.
FIN. Thanks a bunch everybody!!!!!

Oli hand over notes in time with the song. Drawing of the figures on the wall, the sketch of the city, locations of the traps etc.
"Notes? Err, Vinegar ate them."
