Hello,

I am a first time PbP GM and would like to play #5-11: 'Library of the Lion' (Tier 1-5) with you.

About me: I am from Germany and thus not a native speaker so excuse small mistakes in my posts. My posts usually come around 10am-8pm GMT.
I have been a GM for many years and just started playing PbP as a player and would like to GM my first PbP game with you.

Great to have you in the game. Are you sure you can commit to the expectations above, especially the 2-3 post per day?

This is important as this scenario heavily involves roleplaying and also some quests which necessitate attentive PCs.

I will stop recruiting in 48 hours and will decide which additional characters will be able to participate based on a lottery.

Yes GM Nowruz: 2-3 posts per day should be fine.
Disclaimer: I have GMed this adventure in 2014, but not played it yet. I don't remember much to be honest, but what little I remember I will not spoil to the rest of the party. I am bringing a frontline PC so that I can leave the spotlight centered on the more skilled members of the group. The Visbaron will serve as muscle and fitness coach in this one! :)
(i.e. devout follower of Kurgess and avid competitor in most of Taldor and Qadira's sports competitions! Here's a family picture of Zzorn, with his ex-wife, son, and his ex-wife's new Qadiran husband; of late Zzorn has deployed additional efforts in being present in the life of his son, and has accepted that his wife has moved on. He even likes her wife's new husband! He visits them all often. Very, very often...)

Would I be able to try out a shifter for this? Right now I have a few 2nd level characters that could come:
* slayer
* conjuror
*mindblade magus
* dino druid
* brawler

Which do you think about fit best.

you can play any character you want. With the current 3 players the APL is 2 at the moment so we will most probably play low tier.

I've wanted to create a lion blade for a long time, so I think this scenario would be a good start to his journey. I plan to rebuild level 1 Revio here into a Bard (dawnflower dervish) when I get home and have access to hero lab, if that's okay. In the meantime, here is my information.

BASICS:
a) Experience in PbP: I've been playing PBP for about a year.
b) Character concept and class(es): Bard (dawnflower dervish) and lion blade hopeful. His internal conflict is the strife between worshiping the hated religion of Sarenae and his loyalty to his homeland.

I have to warn you that this is actually quite a dangerous scenario for a lion blade. :-/

Think about it but if you definitely want to play a lion blade then go for it.

Revio if you're still level 1 the fastest way to get to lion blade is this, but I'm not sure if you need a boon for that race.

Fits the campaign though: leading to the War for the Crown AP (which I am running starting Friday for a local group here), the institutions of Taldor are divided (some are still loyal to the Emperor, but several are now siding with Princess Eutropia). So there are many, many reasons why an undercover student of the Kitharodian Academy would join this party I think! :)

Note: as a student of the Kith, and not yet Lion Blade, Revio could still be exploring his allegiances and morality, as he has not been recruited as a Lion Blade yet (i.e. does not have the PrC). He could also decide if he's just in 1st year of university or near the end as a senior, depending on his roleplay preferences! ;) He can also decide whether he's reporting to a handler or not as this point.

I also have an inquisitor of Geryon that is 1.2 level.

@Zzorn Unfortunately, that race is a boon only race at the moment.

As for Heria, I should have a nice backstory when I get back from work.

@Heria Bard3/URog3 is awesome regardless... the spellcasting alone is more than worth it.

Actually my plan at the moment is human Bard 4 / URogue 1 with the accomplished sneak attacker feat. I think that should satisfy the (rather enormous) requirements?

As for dangerous, the only hesitation I have is if this scenario would somehow specifically bar Revio from being recruited. Is this a possibility?

Lol! if the Lion Blades only recruited upstanding citizens they would be an order of paladins and not rogue/bards... if you're NOT a lion blade yet, a case could be made that this mission is what inspired your chatacter to join, if I remember well... ;)

I suspect that it's not a question of morality but loyalty, as in betraying state secrets or other some such offense against Taldor that would cause a potential applicant to be denied.

Outside of the game world, table variation being what it is, I wouldn't want to risk it.

No spoilers, but based on my vague memories of running this 4 years ago, bring characters with skills... too bad Revio is not coming with a bardic knowledge type character...

I'd be happy to run a Taldor-based scenario when you get there and correctly apply the lens of what a spy organization would look for in certain candidates...

I think I will play my slayer, I just have to go and make sure he is updated.
