GM NotEspi |
Welcome, welcome!
Something about me - I've been running live games for a few years now, and I do have a few campaigns in PbP under my collar as well, but - If you find anything that can be improved, feel free to point it out.
Let's get to it then. I need the following from you.
Character Name:
Player Name (one that should appear on the sheet):
PFS-ID:
Faction:
Day Job Roll (if any):
Feel free to add notes or comments about what you would like to point out in regards to your character. Afflictions, rare special abilities I should know about/read up on, etc.
Some extra stuff to keep games flowing:
Since we are sort of pressed for time in these specials, in case of an extended period of absence, I would like your permission to bot the character, or delegate this to one of the other players in the thread (in case of interest - I wouldn’t simply say “X bots Y” and carry on). With the following in mind, would you agree to being botted?
Me (or the players botting you) would try to not use any consumables in your inventory, or abilities or class features with limited use (x/day stuff such as spells, channel energy, stunning fist, inspiration, and so on) until deemed necessary to ensure the survival of one or more characters in the party.
Botting posts would be as sterile as possible, to not put words into your character’s mouth. We do this because we try to not post something the character would never say due to their convictions, life philosophy, or whatever other reasons they might have. It’s always better if you (as the ‘owner’ of the character) come in later, and fill the blanks if needed.
If you agree to the above, please set up a bot me section in the character profile containing your most common rolls and listing any feats that might alter said rolls.
Additionally, please make sure to put relevant information (initiative, perception, saves, other common rolls, etc) about your character into a spoiler included in all your posts. This can be done with the Classes/Levels field in the character profile. If you have questions how, don't be afraid to ask.
Again - Welcome! And have fun!
Yarricki |
Character Name: Yarricki
Player Name: Gerarrd
PFS-ID:[b] 24861-12
[b]Faction: Silver Crusade
Day Job Roll (if any): None
I have a bot me spoiler in my profile.
Malachite Stoneheart |
Character Name: Malachite Stoneheart
Player Name: DM DoctorEvil
PFS-ID: 75247-8
Faction: Scarab Sages
Day Job Roll: none
Malachite is an oread monk of the sacred mountain archetype which gives him some unusual abilities. At level 5, he gained immunity to all diseases. He also has some stances which give him different abilities if he starts and ends his turn in the same space.
I will come up with bot actions as you suggest, but should usually be able to post once/day unless I provide other notice.
Odo the Bold |
Character Name: Odo the Bold
Player Name (one that should appear on the sheet): Bill Dunn
PFS-ID: 53494-1
Faction: Liberty's Edge
Day Job Roll (if any): With my lack of skill points? None.
Botting is fine as necessary. Odo likes to try to use diplomacy when possible, uses Battle Cry to kick off dangerous-looking fights, otherwise tends to wade in with his +1 cold iron scimitar.
Oddball characteristics: aside from the Battle Cry feat, Odo has Lucky Halfling which can be used once/day to help nearby PC successfully make a save.
links to d20pfsrd embedded for easy reference, but I do have the books, of course
Raimdol Adjor |
Character Name: Raimdol Adjor
Player Name: Kalderaan/Cary Usrey
PFS-ID: 11954-1
Faction: Grand Lodge
Day Job Roll (sailor): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Botting for me is fine as necessary. I will keep my spell list up as a spoiler on my character sheet. Usually cast as appropriate while strongly avoiding melee. I have wands of shield and mage armor. These are necessary since my AC is 13 otherwise. Feel free to use if botting.
Yarricki |
Hi folks, I will be away from internet next week, will be back once we start on Monday the 5th.
Odo the Bold |
I'm currently in another online game that's finishing up this week and if I have my count right (which I didn't when I initially signed up), I expect to be leveling up to Paladin 6.
I've updated the signup spreadsheet and it takes the calculated APL from 4.6 to 4.8. So I don't think that changes anything significantly...
GM NotEspi |
Raman, could you submit your info and day job rolls (if you have any)? I have most of the stuff covered already in the doc I made (maps and handouts in the campaign header and my post headers, but just to make sure.
On the topic of the maps and handout document, I would like to ask everyone to open it and check their info.
If you wish to add a custom token for the map, please do so under the table. Otherwise I will use your avatar images. Yarricki, you should add thunder's token as well. Thank you all!

Hello to you all. I hope you are well.
I saw that you are missing a player and just wanted to ask if you would be ok if I joined your game.
I am a long time PF player but just started with PFS and do not have a char in this tier. If you do not mind I would play Enora the iconic on lvl 7 - my id is # 314670-1.
I hope that would be ok and I wish you a great day!!
Enora - Iconic character |
That is great - thanks a lot GM NotEspi! I will jump right into the gameplay section! ;-)
GM NotEspi |
Right. Straight to the point, then. Usually, having 6 players in a game is perfectly fine. This scenario only permits 5, however, so someone will have to go. I don't like making these decisions, but it has to be done.
Enora, I love your drive, but - I do apologise, but I am going to ask you to not participate. I have decided based on the fact that Raimdol signed up for the game in advance, and one other issue, which I will address via private messages. I'll keep you in mind for my future games to make it up to you, and offer you one of the spots before running lotteries.
I do hope this will not cause bad blood between us, and will contact you via PM soon.
As for Raimdol - you could have let us know that you would not be available for the first few days. This could have all been avoided if you'd have done so. However - I understand that sometimes plans change unexpectedly and stuff happens.
In any case, since we are essentially in base camp, it is inconsequential from the scenario progress standpoint.
Thank you all for understanding.
Enora - Iconic character |
Of course. ;-) thanks nonetheless. Have fun.
Magabeus |
This is Yarricki's player in my capacity of PBP VL.
To clarify why the PBP VO team limited the number of players to 5 for older scenarios (seasons 0 to 3): we have noted that playing these scenarios with 6 players often marginalizes combats.
These scenarios have been designed for 4 characters, using the books available at the time. Since then the average power level of PCs has gone up and we can now also play scenarios with 6 players.
As PBP VO team we decided that limiting older scenarios to 5 players for this convention would be better.
GM, thank you for your clear statement and Enora, thank you for stepping out.
Yarricki |
On another note: I will be at a convention this weekend, so do not expect any posts from me.
Raimdol Adjor |
Sorry for the issue all. I'll work to stay on top of things.
Raimdol Adjor |
Also...was I able to purchase the wand (endure elements) before we left? No worries either way, but I'll start using it now if I was able to. :D
GM NotEspi |
I calculated the overland travel speed for Thunder based on the tables in the CRB. They are, however, a bit iffy. An unencumbered horse, for example, would be able to hustle at around 10-12 miles/hr, which seems way too slow somehow. Or it's a really slow jog.
In any case, the calculation was based on an axebeak's base speed, with snow (*0.75 multiplier for frozen/tundra environment) and some difficult terrain mixed in. I think we can safely assume that an axebeak can keep up with a dog, however, given that dogs are 20% slower compared to the bird. And unless you have any sort of barding with gear on the companion, it should be doing fairly well even if carrying Raimdol (STR 22).
Yarricki |
Thanks, and my apologies if I came on too strong.
Raimdol Adjor |
Folks, what is the command for the OOC blue? I am accustomed to italics for that, but everyone seems to be using blue text.
Thanks!
Odo the Bold |
It's [ooc] and it's close tag.
I'm not much of a fan of italics on a messageboard. It's harder to read on a computer screen.
Yarricki |
No problem GM, we all have other things that also want attention.
Malachite Stoneheart |
Just a heads up -- I will be leaving for Spring Break/campus tours with the family tomorrow AM. Travel may keep me from posting during the trip, but if I get the chance, I may be able to sneak one or two in.
We return Saturday evening, but with Easter on Sunday, I may not be fully back in the saddle until Monday.
Feel free to bot Malachite as necessary.
Raimdol Adjor |
Team - to clarify, I hasted everyone, including Thunder.
Haste gives the following:
When making a full attack action, a hasted creature may make one extra attack with one natural or manufactured weapon. The attack is made using the creature’s full base attack bonus, plus any modifiers appropriate to the situation. (This effect is not cumulative with similar effects, such as that provided by a speed weapon, nor does it actually grant an extra action, so you can’t use it to cast a second spell or otherwise take an extra action in the round.)
A hasted creature gains a +1 bonus on attack rolls and a +1 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves. Any condition that makes you lose your Dexterity bonus to Armor Class (if any) also makes you lose dodge bonuses.
All of the hasted creature’s modes of movement (including land movement, burrow, climb, fly, and swim) increase by 30 feet, to a maximum of twice the subject’s normal speed using that form of movement. This increase counts as an enhancement bonus, and it affects the creature’s jumping distance as normal for increased speed.
Odo the Bold |
Battle Cry's effect, in a nutshell, is:
When you do [give a battle cry], allies within 30 feet who can hear you gain a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and a +4 morale bonus on saving throws against fear. This effect lasts for 1 minute.
Yarricki |
I put it back to the state it was in after my post and then moved Raimdal back 30 feet as per his post
Malachite Stoneheart |
Do you think we will be able to defeat this creature? Malachite has its eggs in his pack right now. I can try to give them up instead, if you think that an effective approach.
Yarricki |
Does not hurt to try that. This sure is a tough fight.
Raimdol Adjor |
With the hit you delivered Yarricki, this beast is toast. I'm sure it is on its last legs. :P
We can take it!
Raimdol Adjor |
Hey team. I am going on vacation starting tomorrow. I'll be gone for a week. I will have very limited access to the game while I am away.
I will try to jump in where I can but wanted to set some expectations.
Feel free to bot me as you please. My list of available spells is in my character sheet.
Yarricki |
Hi GM, how far are we into the scenario? I have signed up for Solstice Scar B with Yarricki, which starts May 7th. I can pick another character for that, so if we are not ready then that is not a big deal.
I know Odo is in the same boat as he signed up for the table I will run.
Replaces Yarricki hat with convention organizer hat
Also can you make sure you get the boon rolls and reporting out of the way before or on April 30th? Thanks!
Odo the Bold |
I knew I had something else coming up but I had forgotten what it was. Thanks, Yarricki!
