Glad for a chance to delay inviting themselves into the warehouse Derik decides it would be a good idea get into the boat, but decides to take his armour off just incasae. It isn't meant for swimming and climbing in. He removes it and carefully puts it away in his pack.
Derik says. "By your leave my good companions, I shall scout with Eolowyn in the boat."
Climb: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Thanks for that little digital dice
Not sure where the boat came from, but I'll follow your lead... or not.

I'm guessing my climb check fails miserably and I fall into the water.
Derik swims to the side of the boat and jokingly says to Elowyn, "Join me for a swim? The water is lovely. He then offers his hand asking to be helped into the boat.
Swim: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

[ooc]The boat is on the map, which is now on the top of the screen, also, there was no climb check required. However, I like your way better.
As Derik splutters from his fall, and Rutilus stands on the pier laughing, Marcus and Boff make their way in to the building. Darkness fills the warehouse, the ambient light from outside blocked by a filthy, oily film on the structure’s few windows. Darting illumination comes from light reflecting off the water through a splintered hole in the floor. Throughout the warehouse, crates, boxes, and barrels lean against each other in vaguely sorted stacks. A lingering smell indicates some of
the contents are certainly spoiled.
As far as the crate goes, it is precariously suspended over a hole in the floor. You recognize this crate as the one you are after. How do you get it? Also, the warehouse is dark. So please keep in mind your vision limitations, and please try not to metagame.

Eolowyn smiles at Derik's offer
"No thank you Derik, did you know it is very hard to get all that salt from the water out of your hair?"
Eolowyn helps Derek into the boat and casts of. She tries to make a trip around and underneath the pelican warehouse.

Trying to suppress giggles, Rutilus slowly makes it after Markus and Boff. Instinctively, he reaches for his spell component pouch hanging on his belt, but then remembers that he did not pray to Pharasma this morning for the appropriate incantation. He readies his shield and club slowly, while adding: "Yea Boff, if you have a torch, now's the time. You don't wanna trip and fall in the water like Derik here?"

Marcus, if you look at the map, the chest is balanced precariously over hole on broken floor boards. the hole is approximately 10x10
Eolowyn and Derik begin their voyage around the warehouse. Boff lights a torch, and no sooner is the warehouse lit, than a scurrying noise erupts from among the crates!

Derik with no knowledge of boats does his best to try and help Eolowyn. Not knowing what to do he watches her and tries to follow her lead while he pleads, "I'm trying, I've never been on one of these things before."
"It would be a lot easier if this thing came with reins and a stirrup!" he thinks to himself, careful not to let the thought escape his mouth within earshot of the elf.

Eolown, you will not be able to make your perception check until Round 2. So you and Derik will be continuing your trek around the warehouse for Round 1. That being said, you 2 can keep your perception checks, and in Round 2 you will act in Initiatve order.
Rutilus swings awkwardly at the rat, and misses, almost falling over! But he is able to recover, and take up his defensive stance. Eolowyn, blissfully unaware of the fight in the warehouse, continues sailing around it. The rats attack! Dire Rat 1 attacks Rutilus, but misses him. Boff, with eyes wide open more than normal, thinks uh oh! He is a bit unsure of what to do because he is holding the torch, yet wanting to help his friends fend off the rats. He decides to move adjacent to the nearest rat between Marcus and Rutilus while waving the torch toward the rats.
I am not sure where I can place the torch to draw my 2H weapon. I am laughing at myself for being in this silly situation (newb extraordinaire), but if anyone has ideas, feel free to yell it out.

"Remind me never to try boating again! I thought it would be as easy as riding a horse, but it cannot be compared to that!

"Aye, couldn't agree more." says Derik with a smile, continuing to struggle with the boat and glad that the boat ride was nearing its end.

The thing is, the scenario does not give me speed or anything for the boat. So, up to this point I had simply been moving you slowly to reflect that you were taking a gander. Now that you rae trying to move quickly however, I don't see why you couldn't paddle the boat backwards and get back to the pier in 6 seconds.
Eolowyn paddles the boat furiously in the opposite direction, bumping it into the pier.
The last rat snaps at Boff, but can't seem to land a hit.

Annoying thing is that ooc I know that the fight is probably ended when we arrive at the scene. Oh well, it is the thing that Eolowyn would do. Hope Derik manages to climb up to the walkway ;-)

Eolowyn walks into the warehouse, after the fighting is over
"My what a dark place!". She kicks one of the dead rats. "Figures, rats in the harbour. I hope you did not get bitten, these critters usually carry diseases."
When she sees the crate balanced where it is she exclaims "Hmm, some serious climbing is in order I guess!
She lights a lamp and starts to see if there is a point above the crate where she could tie a rope and climb down from that. Obviously she takes care not to disturb the precarious position the crate is in.

Rutilus makes sure that none of his fellow combatants were not bitten and not in need of healing. Than, with a torchlight in one hand, and the shield in the other, he moves slowly and carefully across the warehouse, searching for any interesting tidbits.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Derik follows Eolowyn's lead not being able to see in the dim light. Observing the position of the crate he says "Just as we were told, easy. It would have been no fun if had to just walk in pick up the box."
"Shall we bring the boat below if it is possible. If the box does fall let it be into our waiting arms." he adds not relishing the thought of more time in the boat.

![]() |

Boff stands off to the side and looks at the rat stuck to the end of his blade. Hmph, dis look tasty. He proceeds to hold the end of his sword over the burning torch. There is a crisp hissing noise as the rats hair is burned away while it cooks.

![]() |

"Boff, stop burning that rat or do that outside, it stinks like hell!"

"Boff what's wrong with you!"
Derik quickly rumages through his pack and tosses something Boffs way. "You can't eat rat without the proper seasoning!"

"Boff what's wrong with you!"

LOL!
The water is approximately 15 feet below the warehouse floor. The boat could fit. There is a crane that could possibly used to raise the crate off the floor.

![]() |

"Eolowyn, shall we try and navigate the boat into position below?" says Derik.
"Удобный способ избежать обжарки крысу, если вы не голодны.." he adds as he starts to make his way back to the boat.

![]() |

Boff isn't quite sure what all the stink is about (excuse the pun), but senses others don't share his love for rat meat. As such, he dowses the torch and scrapes the charred rat off his sword with his foot.
Me work crane when boat under crate. Say when ready.
Boff makes a big grin, like an innocent child, waiting for the go signal.

![]() |

Seeing Boff's eagerness to operate the crane, priest's already pale skin almost turns white. A disaster in the making, that's what it is
"No Boff, please, do not touch the crane controls. If you make a mistake, the crate could seriously hurt Eolowyn or Sir Derik!"

![]() |

Eolowyn grimaces when Derik brings up the rat,
"Еда крысу, купание в этой гавани, она является как отвратительно. Вы должны сделать некоторые гребле на этот раз. Вы не можете позволить девочка делать всю работу." she replies
They then return to the boat and try to bring it under the hole

![]() |

In order to get the crane onto the crate... you will need to attach something for the crane to hook onto. This will require someone to walk out on the planks and make an acrobatics check. Or, once the boat is under, you can collapse the floor intentionally and hope for the best.

![]() |

Once Derik and Eolowyn position the boat under the chest, Marcus tells them, "Make sure that you are out of the way on the boat. I will try and attach a rope to the chest so it can be lowered safely. If I fail, I don't want the chest to crash down on you."
He then waits till they have positioned themselves on the boat in case the worst happens. After they signal they are in place, he removes his armor, pack, weapons, pouches and anything else he has on him, except for his travelers outfit. He then grabs some rope and walks carefully onto the planks to attach it to the box.
Ok, *gulp*, here we go. He is +3 once everything is removed instead of +2
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Hoo Yah !!!
Once the rope is attached, he carefully makes his way back and helps Boff lower the chest onto the boat.
