Male Varisian Human Ranger (Urban Ranger) 15 (AC: 32 [T: 19, FF: 26] | HP: 136/139 | F+17*, R+21*, W+15* | Init: +8* | Perc: +22*)

Taking a move action in place of his standard action...

Unable to throw off the vile priestess' spell, Ziranu's right hand whips across his torso, and draws forth his scimitar in a flash of sharp steel to confront the strange zombie, his back to the cold stone.

Searok's turn

Male Dwarf Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 15 (HP 229/229 AC:30 T:16 F:29 Saves F:+20 R:+11 W:+9 CMB:+21 CMD:37 Init:+1 Perc: +18 Intimidate +24)

Searok will stand up and take the AOOs.

He will then swing at the nearest zombie.

Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

You need to make a will save if you want to stand up. The spell is still in effect.

Male Dwarf Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 15 (HP 229/229 AC:30 T:16 F:29 Saves F:+20 R:+11 W:+9 CMB:+21 CMD:37 Init:+1 Perc: +18 Intimidate +24)

Will save DC19: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Okay, lots happening in this post, let me know if there's any confusion about any of it.

Searok powers though Andaisin's spell, managing to pull himself to his feet. The zombies strike at him during this window of vulnerability.

Three are adjacent, but one of them hasn't had his turn yet since doing an AOO on Shaeda, so only two get to attack Searok

Short Sword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 81d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Short Sword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 121d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Neither manages to hit him, and he hits one of them in retalliation.

A zombie moves closer to Shaeda to flank her with his fellow, and strikes.

Short Sword: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 151d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

But he too misses.

Another charges Tronar, to protect his mistress from the half-orc's spell.

Charging Bull Rush: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Tronar is shoved five feet, with the fountain behind him. Tronar, let's say you can make a reflex save to see if you wind up standing on the edge of the fountain, or are pushed into it.

The zombie provokes both from Searok for charging out of an adjacent space, and from Tronar for the bull rush.

Andaisin struggles against the Lash still around her throat, and casts another spell. Her feet lift off the ground, and she steps onto the air as if it were solid and walks upward and away from Tronar, escaping the magical whip.

Although Tronar is up now, and if he makes his save to not land in the fountain I'll let him follow Andaisin and keep within the spell's range.

I put an icon on her token to indicate that she's now standing on air, so even though she looks adjacent to Searok, she's about 10 feet above him.

Male Half-Orc Arcanist 13 (AC: 16 (20 Shield) (21 haste) [T: 12 FF: 14]) | HP: 122/122 | F+13, R+11(+12), W+13 | Init: +3 | Perc: +13 | 130’ Darkvision

my updated CMD is 17 with the Protection from Evil. :) so does that mean the zombie failed? plus I do have that rapier in my non-whip holding hand; does he provoke or have improved bull rush?

Yup, went off your character sheet, so the 16 fails. And he does not have Improved Bull Rush, so you can attack.

Male Half-Orc Arcanist 13 (AC: 16 (20 Shield) (21 haste) [T: 12 FF: 14]) | HP: 122/122 | F+13, R+11(+12), W+13 | Init: +3 | Perc: +13 | 130’ Darkvision

attack at zombie bull rush: 1d20 ⇒ 19

holy crap! I might hit

AOO damage to zombie bull rush: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Tronar will do what he needs to do and move past the zombie to keep his target within the range of his whip. AOO

whip drain STR, DEX, CON: 1d6 ⇒ 5
total damage = 7 pts to STR, DEX, and CON

Then he will ready his feet. move action: to move under her. use my standard action: to ready another move action and parallel her horizontal movement (so Move and then Ready to move)

Male Half-Orc Arcanist 13 (AC: 16 (20 Shield) (21 haste) [T: 12 FF: 14]) | HP: 122/122 | F+13, R+11(+12), W+13 | Init: +3 | Perc: +13 | 130’ Darkvision
GM Kamro wrote:

I usually just keep the information at the top of each post up to date on temporary effects. I can add CMD in there if you want? example AC is temporary up to 22 due to magic effects.

Male Dwarf Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 15 (HP 229/229 AC:30 T:16 F:29 Saves F:+20 R:+11 W:+9 CMB:+21 CMD:37 Init:+1 Perc: +18 Intimidate +24)

Attack (AOO): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Between Searok and Tronar's efforts, the zombie is finished.

Shaeda is up.

Female Halfling Whipmistress 16 (AC: 37 (*+2 Light Fort) (*+1 Haste) [T: 15 FF: 35] CMD 28 (+4 vs disarm/trip) | HP: 162/163(0NL) | F+19*, R+14*, W+19* | Init: +4 |Perc: +6)

Shaeda will attempt to trip the zombie to her south...

Whip to Trip: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27

And she will heal herself...

Fervor: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5

The zombie goes down.

The one to the north strikes at Ziranu:

Short Sword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 151d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

And misses.

Ziranu is up.

Male Varisian Human Ranger (Urban Ranger) 15 (AC: 32 [T: 19, FF: 26] | HP: 136/139 | F+17*, R+21*, W+15* | Init: +8* | Perc: +22*)

"Once again Shaeda, zhat zombie protection would serve well now," Ziranu grates somewhat louder, as the zombie's weapon shrieks along his armor, and he attempts once more to resist Andaisin's vile spell and stand...

Will Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Male Half-Orc Arcanist 13 (AC: 16 (20 Shield) (21 haste) [T: 12 FF: 14]) | HP: 122/122 | F+13, R+11(+12), W+13 | Init: +3 | Perc: +13 | 130’ Darkvision

[dice=Will Save]1d20+5

dude? you made the will save. ("The spell is Greater Command, Will DC 19.") did you want to do anything like stand up and shoot her! or is this some sort of big dramatic, drawn out pause? :P @GM, we are lifelong friends IRL. and poking at each other is part of our gameplay

Female Halfling Whipmistress 16 (AC: 37 (*+2 Light Fort) (*+1 Haste) [T: 15 FF: 35] CMD 28 (+4 vs disarm/trip) | HP: 162/163(0NL) | F+19*, R+14*, W+19* | Init: +4 |Perc: +6)

Shaeda protects Ziranu...

Whip to Aid AC: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29 vs DC 10 to give +5 Dodge to AC

"How's that? Now get in the fight you lazy fool!"

Errr, even if you fail to get up, you can melee attack from the ground!!!

Male Varisian Human Ranger (Urban Ranger) 15 (AC: 32 [T: 19, FF: 26] | HP: 136/139 | F+17*, R+21*, W+15* | Init: +8* | Perc: +22*)

Unintended dramatic effect; within a few minutes of sending out the above message, a software update started that closed my browser and Outlook, and then restarted the system! Given the hour, I wasn't inclined to wait it out. Glad to see you were both paying attention, though! :P

Male Varisian Human Ranger (Urban Ranger) 15 (AC: 32 [T: 19, FF: 26] | HP: 136/139 | F+17*, R+21*, W+15* | Init: +8* | Perc: +22*)

Oh, there will be no melee attack from the ground...

Regaining his footing, and smiling grimly at the dubious yet seemingly effective "protection" of a length of leather cord flailing around his knees, Ziranu immediately drops the scimitar. In the same fluid motion as his hand rises, he knocks an arrow to his longbow that shimmers green when drawn, and looses the shaft at Andaisin...

Aspect of the Falcon-Gravity Bow-Enhanced Longbow Attack against Andaisin: 1d20 + 7 + 4 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 4 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 22

Attack Damage: 2d6 + 1d6 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1, 4) + (6) + 4 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 19

Female Halfling Whipmistress 16 (AC: 37 (*+2 Light Fort) (*+1 Haste) [T: 15 FF: 35] CMD 28 (+4 vs disarm/trip) | HP: 162/163(0NL) | F+19*, R+14*, W+19* | Init: +4 |Perc: +6)

Good man!

With her agility lowered by Tronar's spell, Ziranu's arrow finds its target.

Short Sword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 121d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

A zombie tries to take advantage of the opening created by this attack, but fails.

Searok's up

Male Dwarf Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 15 (HP 229/229 AC:30 T:16 F:29 Saves F:+20 R:+11 W:+9 CMB:+21 CMD:37 Init:+1 Perc: +18 Intimidate +24)

Searok will next turn his attention to the other zombie attacking him.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Attack 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Damage 1: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Damage 2: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Ooof!

The zombie on the ground lashes out at Shaeda.

Short Sword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 111d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

But misses.

Lady Andaisin, her movements sluggish from Tronar's spell, makes a desperate last attempt to rid herself of the arcanist. Her hand crackles with sinister dark energy, and she lunges downward at him.

Touch Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

...And totally whiffs it.

Stick a fork in her, she's done; Slay Living was her best shot. She can hold the charge, but she's not lasting another round. And she provokes from Tronar and Searok.

Tronar's up after that

Male Dwarf Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 15 (HP 229/229 AC:30 T:16 F:29 Saves F:+20 R:+11 W:+9 CMB:+21 CMD:37 Init:+1 Perc: +18 Intimidate +24)

Attack (AOO): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Damage (AOO): 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Yes! Max damage!

Male Half-Orc Arcanist 13 (AC: 16 (20 Shield) (21 haste) [T: 12 FF: 14]) | HP: 122/122 | F+13, R+11(+12), W+13 | Init: +3 | Perc: +13 | 130’ Darkvision

Tronar takes his AOO that is probably moot at this point.

attack: 1d20 ⇒ 17 +2 if she is human

damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

human bane if she is human: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 4) + 2 = 9

If she dies, then I'm not sad. If she is alive and the whip paralyzes her, then we can take her in.

whip drain if she is alive: 1d6 ⇒ 3

total STR, DEX, CON damage = 10

Andaisin has just enough time to look shocked that she missed before Searok and Tronar clobber her. She hits the ground, dead.

Shaeda's up

Female Halfling Whipmistress 16 (AC: 37 (*+2 Light Fort) (*+1 Haste) [T: 15 FF: 35] CMD 28 (+4 vs disarm/trip) | HP: 162/163(0NL) | F+19*, R+14*, W+19* | Init: +4 |Perc: +6)

Shaeda attempts to trip the last standing zombie...

Whip to Trip: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25

Success, the zombie falls.

He attempts to strike back from the floor.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 211d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Misses.

Ziranu's up.

Male Varisian Human Ranger (Urban Ranger) 15 (AC: 32 [T: 19, FF: 26] | HP: 136/139 | F+17*, R+21*, W+15* | Init: +8* | Perc: +22*)

His grim smile only widening, Ziranu steps back a few feet, his longbow ready to loose an arrow should the zombie attempt another attack, and defers to his dwarven companion Searok to deliver the killing blow to the vile undead punching bag...

You're up, Searok

Male Dwarf Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 15 (HP 229/229 AC:30 T:16 F:29 Saves F:+20 R:+11 W:+9 CMB:+21 CMD:37 Init:+1 Perc: +18 Intimidate +24)

Searok will pound the prone zombie!

Attack 1: 1d20 + 11 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 11 + 4 = 28
Attack 2: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 4 = 19
Damage 1: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Damage 2: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

There are two prone zombies adjacent to you, so I just went with the more damaged one, so you finish it.

As Searok dispatches the zombie, you all hear a strange metallic scraping sound. Looking toward the fallen Lady Andaisin, you see that the scythe she wielded is now moving of its own volition, dragging itself across the floor.

Suddenly the blade detaches from its handle and flies to the cleric's right hand, chopping it off at the wrist....and then fusing with her dead flesh.

With a horrific shriek, Andaisin opens her eyes and then lifts into the air. Her eyes glow red, her skin goes pale as death, and her form stretches into some ghastly half-humanoid thing with a the scythe blade in place her of hand. With her voice full of both agony and triumph, she speaks.

"Yessss, my princess! My apotheosis is at hand!"

She slashes at Tronar with her claws.

Great Claw: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 202d6 + 9 ⇒ (4, 4) + 9 = 17
Normal Claw: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (15) + 16 = 311d8 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

Tronar's up

Male Half-Orc Arcanist 13 (AC: 16 (20 Shield) (21 haste) [T: 12 FF: 14]) | HP: 122/122 | F+13, R+11(+12), W+13 | Init: +3 | Perc: +13 | 130’ Darkvision

so since I never let go of the draining whip, is it still attached and doing damage?

I did some searching on the forums, and the best I could find is that "While in effect, these penalties function just like ability damage", and she's now an undead creature and immune to ability damage, so I believe she is immune

Male Half-Orc Arcanist 13 (AC: 16 (20 Shield) (21 haste) [T: 12 FF: 14]) | HP: 122/122 | F+13, R+11(+12), W+13 | Init: +3 | Perc: +13 | 130’ Darkvision

Right then. I will drop the whip.

Tronar takes a cautious step back via dimensional slide no AOO and casts Magic Missile at the new undead, scythe wielder.

MM: 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (3, 3, 3, 4) + 4 = 17

Shaeda does a double take as she sees the woman's transformation, and then comments, "well now, you don't see THAT every day!"

Female Halfling Whipmistress 16 (AC: 37 (*+2 Light Fort) (*+1 Haste) [T: 15 FF: 35] CMD 28 (+4 vs disarm/trip) | HP: 162/163(0NL) | F+19*, R+14*, W+19* | Init: +4 |Perc: +6)

She looks "Large" can you confirm? I guess I'm up eh?

Hey Searok, did you ever use that luck I gave you?

Shaeda will attack the downed zombie...

Whip Hit: 1d20 + 11 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 11 + 4 = 19 Disarm, Reach, Trip
Whip Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

... and take a 5' step forward to be able to provide Bodyguard to Searok as he moves against the BBEG.

If Ziranu, or anyone else wants me to BG them, you need to 5' and stick with me.

Does the BBEG look "tripable?"

Yes, she is large. She appears to be floating off the ground, so probably not tripable.

Tronar's missile strikes the monster, and Shaeda's whip strikes the zombie.

The zombie, still prone, tries to stab Ziranu.

Short Sword: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 171d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

He misses.

Ziranu's up

You around, Ziranu?

Male Varisian Human Ranger (Urban Ranger) 15 (AC: 32 [T: 19, FF: 26] | HP: 136/139 | F+17*, R+21*, W+15* | Init: +8* | Perc: +22*)

Ziranu's grim smile slowly fades with the transformation of Andaisin into some scythe-armed undead abomination, turning to horror and resolution by the time her scythe claw descends on Tronar.

The ranger swiftly sidesteps the prone zombie's sword-thrust, nocking two arrows to his longbow as he stands astride the twice-dead corpse of another zombie, next to Shaeda, and unleashes his emerald-slick hail of missiles...

The following removes all Favored Enemy bonuses to attack and damage, assuming that Human is neither a type nor subtype anymore for Andaisin

Manyshot-Rapid Shot-Deadly Aim-Aspect of the Falcon-Enhanced Longbow Attack 1 against Andaisin: 1d20 + 7 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 7 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 - 2 - 2 = 29

Apologies; I wasn't around, actually. Had to execute a solo 1,200-mile journey by rental vehicle over the last couple days, but I'm back in action!

Ziranu's first arrow pierces the monster deeply.

Searok's up

No worries, a lot of people don't post over the weekend anyway, so I always wait until a weekday before trying to poke the thread awake.

Only one roll. The Cleric's version would have it work on EVERY d20 roll you make over the next round, which is amazing for like a multi-attacking archer.

Andaisin floats backwards from the barbarian's blow and begins to cast once more.

"I won't let you destroy what I've created, my magnum opus! It's time for you to DIE!"

This time at least the word is not a command you feel compelled to obey. But it rips across the battlefield like it was flung by a siege weapon, and explodes in your midst.

Sound Burst, DC 15

Sonic: 1d8 ⇒ 1

Okay, that description may have been a little dramatic for the damage roll. Maybe you're all just getting real tired of the sound of her voice.

The Cleric's version is indeed AMAZING for that ability. Good thing there are such amazing Clerics out there willing to hook up their multi-attacking archers!

Kamro, a quick question if I could: how many of my arrows struck Andaisin? Needing to gauge the risk/payoff of using Deadly Aim again to strike...

Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Only the first, her AC is 22.

Tronar and Shaeda are stunned.

The zombie will stand since no one threatens it at the moment, and step south to threaten the casters.
