Invisible, Vladamir, Sejanus and Avasir all take a good look around. They see nothing that would indicate a trap.

Avasir sees that there is nothing but other cages behind the basilisk.
The basilisk is starting to get more agitated. Vladamir, Invisible, Avasir and Sejanus can I have a fort save from each of you please?
The basilisk pen walls are floor-to-ceiling iron bars an inch in diameter and 6 inches apart, like a jail cell.

fortitude save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
I was trying to see what was so odd about the bars, but wasn't sure what kind of check to make. Sorry for not being specific.
If Vladamir is still able to do so, he moves north to his current position.

GM Ietsuna |

Ahh ok. There isn't anything odd about them as such. I was just trying to get across that they are old and could be broken by someone of the appropriate strength. The iron bars are corroded from moisture and are not well mounted into the stone.

GM Ietsuna |

Vladamir, High is Good: 1d100 ⇒ 70
Vladamir manages to successfully avert his eyes from those of the basilisk.

After confirming what the others saw, and seeing no other creatures in the cages behind, Avasir moves back towards the curtain.

Hearing about the basilisk, Lirianne is going to holster her pistol, put one hand on the right wall, close her eyes, and keep moving forward with her left hand outstretched until she touches someone or the wall at the far end of the corridor.

Syl'las averts her eyes and moves along with the group..

GM Ietsuna |

The whole party manages to pass the basilisk without serious incident. At the end of the corridor you find a locked door leading into the complex to the east.

GM Ietsuna |

Invisible sees a long corridor ending in a large room. There are a number of corridors that lead off this one to the south also. The floors, ceiling and walls here are all the same type of stone as the entry hall.

Did I misunderstand the direction of the moaning? "down the corridor" is further down the current corridor, not "through the door", correct?
Avasir creeps softly towards the two doors and listens to see if the moaning is coming from either of them.

![]() |

Syl'las follows along with the others. She tries to find out where the moaning is coming from.

GM Ietsuna |

Sorry for the confusion. The moans are coming from directly in front of you Invisible. I will give you a chance to reposition before I post the contents of the room Invisible is looking into. I have indicated the moaning sound's with a green circle.

Realizing that he's only getting further away from it, Avasir returns to the corridor he and Invisible and stood at before, and follows him in.

Revealed the room Invisible can see in to
This room appears at first glance to be an operating theater, as it contains cots draped in clean sheets and tables neatly stacked with surgical implements and dressings, but mixed among the surgical implements are whips, scourges, and other tools of torture.
Three Lissalan priests lie face down on cots in this room, stripped to the waist and unconscious from pain and religious ecstasy. Two tieflings move between the priests, peeling away skin in the shape of the Sihedron rune. There is also a snake curled under one of the cots.
