Hanna goes to check out the market, wondering if there was anyone selling anything suitable for being a familiar, she had never bothered in the past but now she’s looking for every advantage she could get

Shayde, Shadow's Champion |

Shayde lurks around, honestly surprised nobody has questioned about him yet. Was security truly this lax? Or was he getting some of his old skill back?

"I see. This is very useful news. Sadly, the templars and the demoniacs among them may have been here for quite a long time. I thank you all for the information. Please, rest a while."
Ilbareth turns to shayde.
"you can stop skulking around now. It's safe here. It just makes you look more suspicious."

Before going to bed, Lina finds the chain shirt they picked up somewhere. She rests well, and after washing up in the morning comes out, wearing her scarves and the masterwork chain shirt, as well as both Starknives on her belt.
"Horgus never returned my sword," Lina declares, like she didn't forget about it until last night at 3 AM.

Shayde, Shadow's Champion |

Shayde cracked the barest hint of a smile, before going back to stoicism. "I am called Shayde. I had wondered how long it would be before someone spoke to me. And relative safety aside, I am more at home in the shadows." Still, Shayde did relax slightly, though he remeained alert. He was well aware that this small bastion would be easy to infiltrate, with the right tricks.

Azlana could actually use the Ranseur we got off of the orc, it's up to her. Otherwise, I propose selling that +1 Ranseur, the +1 light shield we found, and the masterwork longbow we found. I don't know the value of the ranseur, but the shield and longbow will sell for a total of about 687gp. That puts the party funds at a bit over 2000 gp

Azlana |

Good call. I'll take the Ranseur so we have a magical weapon if we find something where we need that.
Lina, do you want my sword? I hardly ever use it anyway. I would be happy for you to have it.
We could use the party funds to buy a wand of cure light, and then distribute the rest? It wouldn't be much per person, but it would give us all a little bit of money to buy mundane gear.

Lina Weaver |

"It's lovely of you to offer, but I don't think I'd be able to make as good of use with a heavy blade. I was just...making light of the situation, I guess."
I agree on the wand. GM is anyone selling a Wand of Cure Light Wounds?

Lina Weaver |

Excellent. The +1 light wooden shield is worth 1153gp, the masterwork longbow is worth 375gp, selling for half is 764 gp. The wand should be 750gp assuming it has a full 50 charges, leaving us with 1707gp, split five ways is ~340gp each

Shayde, Shadow's Champion |

Sorry for being slow!
There was a pause as Shayde considered the situation.
"Yes, I suppose I do need rest. There will be long days and nights ahead."
Shayde also considered the creeping necessity of changing his armament. If his arm continued to be uncooperative, twisted as it was by whatever force, he would need to abandon two-handed weapons. Time to decide what to replace them with.

Hanna approaches the cages and the merchant "I take it that you are selling these animals? would you happen to have any that are appropriate as a familiar"

Shayde, Shadow's Champion |

Shayde probably won't do any shopping just yet... he has enough one-handed stuff to get by, and not enough money to afford anything very good. Will be keeping an eye out for better replacement gear, though.

while no reputable merchants seem to be selling thieves tools, there is a strange man in the back using extremely fine intranets to work on what appears to be a clock. He doesn't seem to be selling anything at the moment, but he's likely the best shot without going to some of the more shady merchant types.

Lina quickly remembers that as much as she'd like to have a nicer set of tools, most people would probably be suspicious of her motives, even though she would never steal from somebody who didn't deserve it.
Nevertheless she is fascinated by the man working on the clock and approaches. "I'm sorry, but can I ask why you're working on a clock, now of all times?"

"I-i. Flowering lattice, but.. all Roses. a... snake with silver eyes. Seems intelligent. Weasel? Rat? Uhm. Uhm. Dragonfly. Moth."
she nods, “a flowering lattice sounds better than most of them, I could weave the flowers through my hair... silver eyes on the snake? Do they do anything? May I see?”

"I work on clocks. If I did not, what would I be? I can't let the apocalypse stop me from doing my job."
the man continues working on the clockwork with fine tools, tiny, precise things."did you want something?"

The merchant holds up a finger, and opens one of the cages, taking out a viper. The merchant is oddly confident in it, considering he's holding it with his bare hands. It's eyes practically glow with silver, and it's scales catch light in odd ways, making one sparkle now and then.
"it's a little sweety, but it seems to unnerve people. I've honestly had it for so long, I donno... if you want it, you can have it. I don't think I'll ever sell it for any amount of money, but maybe I can give it away."

The animal is calm and slightly wraps around hanna's arm. 'I don't breed animals, I catch them. I-i-i, look, most of these animals are to be made familiars, and several aren't even smart enough to be affected by being raised from birth unless already a familiar. In short, n-no, I don't know.""

once the party has completed what little shopping they wanted to do, ilbareth is waiting foe the group.
"come. I need to introduce you to someone.
on her way to the small meeting room
"I cannot thank you enough for all you've done, and i regret I must ask you to do more."
when she gets to the small room, she gestures to an angular man who seems to be in his late seventies.
"meet Quednys, founder of blackwing."
