“She’s a few hours up the Dagger River. She never was good at hiding places, and she liked to brag too much about where she’d been and what she’d found. Bragged too much. Looked down on people,” he trails off, then says, “Hells, I can draw you a map.”
You follow the map he has drawn and see a halfling and a bald human harassing a female half-orc in front of a cave! At the sight of you the human sneers "We will deal with your bodyguards first, and then we will be back for you."
He takes a potion from his belt and drinks it. His muscles are bulging and it is obvious the potion increased his strength.
If you want to retroactively prepare yourself for combat that is fine.

Hanlin prepares himself for the likelihood of things getting ugly. He produces a small glowing flame in the palm of his hand as he urges Sunny forward.

"That was a very near thing. We appreciate your healing, Ulisha."
The Foreigner examines their fallen foes. "These assassins were more determined than would seem warranted by the offer of mere gold. Why did they fear failure more than death?"
Raising his waterskin, the Foreigner slakes his thirst.
"We've followed the leads in your journal. We've been to the mausoleum in Gralton and to the mists in the Forest of Veils. We've dealt with the Razmiri priest in Allenstead, retrieved alien artifacts from the Numerian borderlands, and harvested arachnids outside Daggermark."

Returning after a few private moments behind some nearby shrubbery, Krieger absorbs the half-orc's explanation of Daggermark assassins' code of conduct.
These killers fear their leaders and the recriminations of their fellows more than they do their targets. This Daggermark assassins guild merits further investigation. And their activities and clientele need careful monitoring. I'll include these recommendations in my report to the Society.
Krieger addresses the half-orc, "Ulisha, your Silverhex is a fine weapon. Can you tell us more about it? The offer of a discount will appeal to some. The knowledge you've acquired about the Riverlands will be of even greater value to the Pathfinder Society."

![]() |

Palomia offers a sniff of disdain as she considers the weapon. "Yeah, I'd like to know more about what we're possibly buying before we actually buy it. You know, buyer beware and all that - no offense. At first glance it does look like a nice weapon for someone skilled with blades, though."

GMG |

She looks at Krieger "Err, who are you good sir?"
Upon seeing that the other pathfinders seem to accept the newcomer she answers Palomia "Silverhex is an ancient silver sickle. It has the capacity to store a single spell that can be released on a hit. I will give the Society a discount of 2000 gold pieces, which is almost a quarter of it's value."

![]() |

"Well...that *does* sound pretty cool," Palo responds. She looks at her companions. "What do you guys think?"

![]() |

Hanlin asks to have a look at the sickle, being trained in its use. "Its a bit big for me but it DOES look like a fine blade. Do you have any documents about its history? Pathfinder's need history and a story to go with such a fine weapon. I'm sure if we had that combined with the discount we may be able to convince those up the ladder that its worth buying!"

"A quarter of its own value, eh?"
I'm sure it's the finest quality silver and it is ancient, but really? 8,000 gold pieces for that?
Linria sizes up Ulisha, trying to get a read on her honesty. "How do you figure it's worth as much as that, Ulisha? As Hanlin said, maybe you can tell us more about its history. It is something of an antique, isn't it?"

GMG |

"I discovered the sickle in a collapsed stone circle here in the riverlands.
Do you see these engravings on the blade? Those engravings were used millania ago, as I am certain one of your experts could confirm. Unfortunately most druids are not exactly known for making a paper trail. A weaponsmith can probably also confirm that the smithing style is ancient, and a wizard might have something to say about the way the enchantments are laid on the blade."
She waits for a moment "But I am willing to join you and come to the nearest lodge to talk to one of your officers if that is what you want"

![]() |

Krieger nods in approval. "Ulisha, you have much to offer the Pathfinder Society. Please do accompany us to the lodge and speak with our venture officers. We also invite you to consider joining the Society. There is always a need for capable field agents."
