If any of you have questions that I overlooked in my haste to get this campaign going, please post them here yet again.

Also, all statblocks should be finalized, and I'd like everyone to get the standard:
(AC xx / HP xx / F +x, R + x, W +x / Init. + x / Perc. +x)
down below the names.

Otherwise, if everyone is ready to go, we may begin!

Reporting for duty - let's get this game started!

Merisiel - Rogue 1 (AC 17/14/13; HP 10/10; Fort +2, Ref +6, Will +1; Init +6; CMD 16; Perception +7)

Inmate of Maximum Security, reporting for duty :-)

AC 12| HP 6/6| Fort:+2, Ref: + 4, Will: +2 / Init. + 2 / Per. +1 Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1

Reporting for duty!

(AC 15 / HP 18 / F +4, R -1, W +7 / Init. -1 / Perc. +5) Male Human Cleric of Asmodeus and Ruzel: 2

Reporting for duty.

Great! Expect the first gameplay post to be up soon. This is going to be great!

Edit: 1st post is up! Get in there and start roleplaying! Now would be a great time to introduce yourselves and your crimes to your fellow inmates.

AC 12| HP 6/6| Fort:+2, Ref: + 4, Will: +2 / Init. + 2 / Per. +1 Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1

I went ahead and made the first post. My apologies to my fellow prisoners. I find the first post to be the most difficult. However, I couldn't wait to get the proverbial ball rolling.

Inactive

Somehow, I think it's time we talk about how much PvP we're gonna allow here. I feel like I'm gonna have my clothes lit on fire soon! :)

(AC 15 / HP 18 / F +4, R -1, W +7 / Init. -1 / Perc. +5) Male Human Cleric of Asmodeus and Ruzel: 2

Yeah. I was certainly debating that. :) Of course doing something like that prematurely might just end any chance Artorius has for escape, so he can temper his anger for now.

(AC 15 / HP 18 / F +4, R -1, W +7 / Init. -1 / Perc. +5) Male Human Cleric of Asmodeus and Ruzel: 2

How do I get the little header to appear. I seem to have forgotten exactly where to put it.

AC 12| HP 6/6| Fort:+2, Ref: + 4, Will: +2 / Init. + 2 / Per. +1 Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1

If you're talking about the stats, I put my stats in my gender box. Erodin put his in his classes/levels box.

Some great roleplaying guys! Don't worry about action yet, I'll be making something happen soon enough, I just wanted to make sure you all got in a preliminary meet and greet session.

Merisiel - Rogue 1 (AC 17/14/13; HP 10/10; Fort +2, Ref +6, Will +1; Init +6; CMD 16; Perception +7)

@GM Gluttony: Glad to hear you are still here ;-)

@Erodin: I have no problem with a little PvP, as long as it does not escalate to the point of actively trying to kill one another - being evil does not necessarily mean being incapable of working cohesively with a group (especially if you are Lawful Evil); it just colours how you achieve your goals...

Inactive

Alright, I just moved my stats to the gender box to be more consistent.

Definitely wouldn't try to kill anyone in the party, or do (too much) harm. I'm expecting a long, dark future with y'all.

Merisiel - Rogue 1 (AC 17/14/13; HP 10/10; Fort +2, Ref +6, Will +1; Init +6; CMD 16; Perception +7)

Glad to hear it; I foresee us trying to flank together a lot, after all ;-)

(AC 15 / HP 18 / F +4, R -1, W +7 / Init. -1 / Perc. +5) Male Human Cleric of Asmodeus and Ruzel: 2

Indeed.

Erodin, I was thinking, maybe we can link our backgrounds slightly. My character was condemned for the crime of sedition (in addition to a few others) and it could very well make sense that the 'vile and illegal' books that you were smuggling instead of your regular items of interest were a part of the sedition. We wouldn't know each other directly, but it could seek to connect the world a little more. What do you think?

GM - Should we make the sense motive in the RP thread to read whatever spoiler is there?

(AC 15 / HP 18 / F +4, R -1, W +7 / Init. -1 / Perc. +5) Male Human Cleric of Asmodeus and Ruzel: 2

I hope my rolls don't continue along this terrible start. :)

Ouch, double nat 1s! Anyways, you are correct about making the rolls and then reading the spoiler.

Inactive

@ Artorius - I'm all for tying backgrounds together. It seems pretty straightforward to say that I was smuggling vile propoganda for your people, but they got captured/killed. Then the authorities went in to arrest the suppliers as well. Maybe I was also providing weapons for your cause without realizing it. If we just invent the name of a contact person, that'll make it easier to draw the connection. We'll see if an opportunity arises.

(AC 15 / HP 18 / F +4, R -1, W +7 / Init. -1 / Perc. +5) Male Human Cleric of Asmodeus and Ruzel: 2

That works for me. Some random names I came up with off the fly, feel free to choose one (or make up one) that you like best.

Anhas Serottin
Odenir dimeye
Gwain Biridin
Worphus Gartack

(AC 15 / HP 18 / F +4, R -1, W +7 / Init. -1 / Perc. +5) Male Human Cleric of Asmodeus and Ruzel: 2

GM - how close are we chained near one another and how much leeway do the shackles and ankle restraints give? If we tried, could we clasp hands or pass something from one prisoners hand to the hand of another prisoner?

You're ankles are only secured to the other prisoners ankles by a chain, so you could move those all you want. Your hands, however, are bound fast to the wall above you, making it impossible to exchange or pick up anything with them. Your hands are bound loosely enough that simple gestures are possible.

Male Human (Brevoyic) Fighter (Polearm Master) / 4

Though I am speaking in Necril and Infernal, for my last post I didn't use spoilers because it seems all the PC's understand at least one of the two (whew...) and it just flows better.

A LN Brevoyan in our midst? Out with ye!
Just for reference:

Necril only: Erodin
Infernal only: Ezra
Both: Jethryk and Artorius

(AC 15 / HP 18 / F +4, R -1, W +7 / Init. -1 / Perc. +5) Male Human Cleric of Asmodeus and Ruzel: 2

Obviously, I posted that OOC comment on a Kingmaker alias by mistake.
Speaking of languages, my character was studying other languages before he was nabbed. Eventually I plan on taking multiple ranks in linguistics. I am personally leaning toward learning -

Giant
Yukai (The half-orcs/orcs)
Halfling/Iraeni (The barbarians)
Goblinoid

(AC 15 / HP 18 / F +4, R -1, W +7 / Init. -1 / Perc. +5) Male Human Cleric of Asmodeus and Ruzel: 2

My apologies to any Bengali or Tamil readers. I only used those languages because the scripts are unfamilar in the west and work well for the mystery of the Necril and Infernal languages.

I am not trying to suggest that Bengali is the language of hell or that Tamil the spoken tongue of the dead.

I wonder if elsewhere in the world people use the Latin alphabet similarly?

Agree - on to the next day!

(AC 15 / HP 18 / F +4, R -1, W +7 / Init. -1 / Perc. +5) Male Human Cleric of Asmodeus and Ruzel: 2

Well, nothing left to do but try to escape!

I hope this plan works. I suspect that peeling/ripping off a patch will create the genuine artical, but I could be completely wrong. Considering how our hands are shackled, ripping it off with my mouth seemed to make the most sense. I can potentially get close enough for Erodin to grab. If need be I can even try to dislocate a shoulder - painful, but better than being executed.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Artorius: Aaaaaah! I just dislocated my shoulder but I'm halfway towards Erodin. If you just dislocate your shoulder I should be able to pass you the picks.

Erodin: Aaaaaaah! There goes my shoulder but I still can't reach! Jethryk, help us out!

Jethryk: Aaaaaah! Ok I've dislocated my shoulder as well, but now we can get Erodin the picks! Finally!

Ezra: Um, guys... I dunno if is is a bad time to bring this up but, I can cast Mage Hand...

(AC 15 / HP 18 / F +4, R -1, W +7 / Init. -1 / Perc. +5) Male Human Cleric of Asmodeus and Ruzel: 2

Hilarious! Yeah, I know Ezra has mage hand, but my character certainly doesn't. It could be extremely useful if someone drops the lock picks. It won't be me. No sir, not with my fine hand eye coordination and steady hands...

AC 12| HP 6/6| Fort:+2, Ref: + 4, Will: +2 / Init. + 2 / Per. +1 Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1

I don't know. It could be amusing to watch...

Well, I'll try to not let it go as far as everyone dislocating their shoulders.

(AC 15 / HP 18 / F +4, R -1, W +7 / Init. -1 / Perc. +5) Male Human Cleric of Asmodeus and Ruzel: 2

Using grease on the area in front of the door is a really good idea. My character will comment as much once the whole situation with the veil and (hopefully) tools are resolved. He's a little focused on the matter at hand at the moment.

I guess we wait on the GM now.

AC 12| HP 6/6| Fort:+2, Ref: + 4, Will: +2 / Init. + 2 / Per. +1 Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1

Thank you! It will be a better idea if it works.

The matter of the veil and tools is certainly a pressing issue. I don't think anyone wants to be shackled a moment longer than necessary. Hopefully, all will go well.

Terribly sorry friends! I've been terribly sick for the past two days and haven't had much access to the internet. It also slipped my mind to notify you.

Anyways I'm right as rain now, so, on with the escape! I'll post in gameplay in a few.

AC 12| HP 6/6| Fort:+2, Ref: + 4, Will: +2 / Init. + 2 / Per. +1 Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1

Don't worry, Oh Gluttonous One. I'm sorry to hear that you were sick! That's simply terrible.

I'm glad that you're doing better now!

Inactive

Sorry to hear, that sucks. Glad you're back!

Merisiel - Rogue 1 (AC 17/14/13; HP 10/10; Fort +2, Ref +6, Will +1; Init +6; CMD 16; Perception +7)

Glad to hear you are feeling better :-)

(AC 15 / HP 18 / F +4, R -1, W +7 / Init. -1 / Perc. +5) Male Human Cleric of Asmodeus and Ruzel: 2

Glad to hear you are better.
Considering that we wish to taunt the guards and anger them enough to enter the cell and attempt to silence us, do we need to make rolls for that or can we deliberately fail our diplomacy rolls to decrease their attitude to hostile (or blood thirty)?

During out watch period did we happen to hear the name(s) of the two guards outside our cell on this watch or any tidbits of information about them (married, seeing someone, hates another guard, had a child, etc)?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

When I made the group perception check it wasn't quite good enough to hear much through the heavy door, however you could try listening now if you'd like. Also remember that there's a rotation of guards, and you don't quite know how many or who's who.

As far as diplomacy checks, those would be unnecessary. You've all been such good quiet prisoners that you haven't had the chance to learn that the guards will enter the cell at the slightest hint of raised voices (which I'm telling you now because I'm assuming that's what your next course of action is.

(AC 15 / HP 18 / F +4, R -1, W +7 / Init. -1 / Perc. +5) Male Human Cleric of Asmodeus and Ruzel: 2

I guess then the off-color remarks I'll be having Artorius make regarding their faith and their mothers will just add extra fuel to the fire...

AC 12| HP 6/6| Fort:+2, Ref: + 4, Will: +2 / Init. + 2 / Per. +1 Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1

I'll have to post in the morning, my villainous comrades. I'm sorry. Classes ran longer than anticipated.

(AC 15 / HP 18 / F +4, R -1, W +7 / Init. -1 / Perc. +5) Male Human Cleric of Asmodeus and Ruzel: 2

While I am loathe to use my limited spells so freely, we do need to get out quickly and quietly and the chance the guard will fail his will save is rather high. It seemed prudent, especially for the added bonus of making him taint his soul with (maybe) the slaying of his friend before we send him to his own death.

Despicable... I like it!

(AC 15 / HP 18 / F +4, R -1, W +7 / Init. -1 / Perc. +5) Male Human Cleric of Asmodeus and Ruzel: 2

I try.

Ezra, since you go first, you could probably move to the door and close it - or alternatively you could ready an action in case Wencelas doesn't fall under the effect of the murderous command (or just delay till after his turn anyway, since after he tries to murder his buddy, we need to murder him)

(AC 15 / HP 18 / F +4, R -1, W +7 / Init. -1 / Perc. +5) Male Human Cleric of Asmodeus and Ruzel: 2

How delightful! He chopped the hand from his friend in a gruesome display.

A question on initiative for PC's - When a group of PC's are clumped one after another in the initiative order should we just post when we are able or should we post in order? I know the former has the advantage in speeding things up in large combats to prevent waiting.

Hmmm. What are everyone else's thoughts on Artorius' suggestion. Since this combat is going to be short, everyone stick to initiative order for now, but I'd like to know what you guys think.

Inactive

I'm fine with out-of-order posting with clumped initiative. When the PCs initiatives are clumped, we're basically acting together anyway, since we can each delay to await the other player.

AC 12| HP 6/6| Fort:+2, Ref: + 4, Will: +2 / Init. + 2 / Per. +1 Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1

I am fine with out of order posting with clumped initiative.

Fair enough.

By the way Ezra, you can act whenever you want, seeing as your readied action was unnecessary.

Sorry villains, been dodging relatives all day, post up as soon as I can.
