No worries Catina, we all experience some problems in RL. I just want to stress that this is an important moment in the campaign, so being consistent now is quite important.
Petals |
Sorry things are rough at the moment Catina. Hope they get better soon.
GM Giuseppe |
Are the summons still around?
If you mean Faustinia's summons, yes, of course they are. Thrax's summons, on the contrary, were all defeated.
Petals |
Yep, that is what I was asking, didn't know how many turns took place between winning and getting attacked.
Petals |
she wasn't demoralizing, she was trying to get him to stop before they had to treat him like an enemy and kill him. Lawful good, give people a chance. But moving on.
GM Giuseppe |
Hey Faustinia, did I read wrong or the lantern archon was supposed to attack?
Lady Faustinia Xerysis |
Hey Faustinia, did I read wrong or the lantern archon was supposed to attack?
You read right. It's not attacking, I was trying to find a way to visually describe it casting detect evil.

OK, that's fine. Thanks ;)

Petals falls to 0 hit points.
Don't forget, a character at 0 HP is disabled, not unconscious! You can still take either a standard or move action, but any standard action will deal 1 damage to you afterward.
GM Giuseppe |
Yes. Go ahead and assume that you used your channel energy without healing Thrax.
Lady Faustinia Xerysis |
Hi all,
Apologies, my next post will be a bit delayed. I was busy tonight preparing for an important meeting at the courthouse tomorrow, and I should be free to post after that! Thanks for your patience.
Catina Bon Durati |
Channel energy: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 2) = 6
Channel energy: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 5) = 12
Channel energy: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 1) = 10
Channel energy: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 5) = 12
That should put everyone at full.

Just one thing I was wondering about, just to be sure we get this right: Delvehaven was initially sealed by the Pathfinders. Thrune loyalists opened it, had a look around and then sealed it again? I think I forgot about that when writing my questions. Not sure how much it matters for now, but just wanted to check

Going on vacation tomorrow morning, don't know how well I'll be able to keep up, though so bot me as needed. And have a lovely weekend!
GM Giuseppe |
Hey everyone, sorry for my absence. I'm attending a conference and there's no wi-fi available in my hotel, unfortunately. I will be back in a two days in the worst case.
In the meantime, please bot me as needed if I'm a player, or keep roleplaying among yourselves (if you wish so) if I'm the GM.
Lady Faustinia Xerysis |
Hey all, sorry for the silence. Everything went great on Friday, but I've been feeling too sick to post lately. I'm hoping to post again soon after I recover just a bit more - say within 24 hours or so.
Varius Liberare |
Glad things are okay, and get well soon!
I'm also going to a conference from Thurs-Sunday. I will have internet, but the question of free time is a different one.
Petals |
My wife has surgery today, so I'll be less than active. Plus a bit of recovery, hopefully no more than this week. Meaning I get to be both Mom and Dad and will have less time for posting. I'll try though, just warning.

Quick question: are we assuming that we head to the Massacre House (or whatever our next destination is) the same day as our fight in the Devildrome? Or that we go there the next day?
Catina Bon Durati |
I'm with Petals. Next day sounds much better. Catina's new spell list for the day after is in the spoiler below.
We also have the issue of Thrax's 'loot'.
+1 mithral quarterstaff - Keep as backup bludgeoning weapon?
Amulet of natural armor - Could go to Varius
Pearl of power - Faustinia?
diamond dust - Keep, as generic spellcasting supplies
Hellcaller Cup - Selling this seems odd, story-wise...
0th level 3 spells. DC 13
- Light
- Read Magic
- Stabilize
- Mending
1st level. 4 spells, 1 Domain spell. DC 14
- Bless
- Bless
- Protection from Evil
- Shield of Faith
D True Strike
2nd level. 3 spells, 1 Domain spell. DC 15
- Bull's Strength
- Spiritual weapon
- Hold person
D Aid
3rd level. 2 spells, 1 Domain spell. DC 16
- Magic circle against evil
- Dispel magic
D Protection from energy

I will go with whatever you decide. There seems to be some consensus on going there the next day, so unless you tell me otherwise I will do so.
Petals |
Happy with the suggested distribution of items. Plus yeah, I agree very much with keeping the cup, even though it is of no use statistically.
Lady Faustinia Xerysis |
Spells for the next day:
3rd: haste, stinking cloud (DC 18 Fort), summon monster III (school spell)
2nd: glitterdust (DC 17 Will), summon monster II, summon monster II (school spell), --
1st: grease (DC 16 Ref), liberating command, mage armor (school spell), --, --
0th: detect magic, light, read magic, prestidigitation
Happy with the suggested distribution of items. Plus yeah, I agree very much with keeping the cup, even though it is of no use statistically.
Um, I think you'll find that, statistically, the cup makes Faustinia is the best Devildrome summoner in Westcrown.
Catina/Loot: Let's keep the quarterstaff for now. One more day of not getting to sell it probably won't be that big a deal. Also, I can hold on to this second pearl of power, but since I already have one you could take this one this time!
Lady Faustinia Xerysis |
Something that just struck me: for this particular visit with the killer nuns, should we be wearing our Eyes of Westcrown disguises with the white face masks? I guess I'm not sure whether the Sisters of Eiseth would have heard of our organization, or what its reputation would be with them. I don't imagine it would be very good, but I also don't know if we want them to know our faces even if they don't know our association. Would Arael have any input on that?
Varius Liberare |
Our plans seem rather fluid and Faustinia hasn't agreed to anything yet. Here's my suggested 'complete' plan.
1. Petals tries to coerce the ashes out of the sisters, which may draw them out to attack at worst. In which case no door bashing.
2. If the Sisters just lock us out, Petals bashes, or just takes 20 lock picking a door.
3. To draw the baddies away, I recommend Faustinia summon an earth elemental or similar critter that can get behind the other door.
Either way, I think we should talk first. No penalty for failure.
Lady Faustinia Xerysis |
Little did you know, I was apparently writing my post when you posted this! :)
I do like the earth elemental idea. I also agree that there's probably no real harm in trying to goad them with just talking first, as long as we don't send anyone in so vulnerable as they would like.
GM Giuseppe |
Paizo website has been down for most of the day, by which I mean "european" day. I'll try to make a post before going off to bed, but posting in the evening is usually not easy for me due to RL impedements. I'll do my best, otherwise I'll post tomorrow morning.
Petals |
Sorry about the bad day, but am jealous about the convention. ENJOY!!!
GM Giuseppe |
Hey guys, could anyone clarify the plan for me?
So far, I've got this:
While Faustinia starts to summon an elemental, Petals will place an illusion far from the door, then bash the door with her hammer. Catina will cast bull's strenght on Petals before she bashes the door.
Now, I've got a few questions:
1. Is Petals bashing the same door as the one in front of which she places the illusions?
2. Where is Faustinia summoning her elemental?
3. What is Varius doing?
Please place your characters on the map and mark the area of your spells, summonings and illusion so to simplify my task. This plan is a little complex, and it seems to me that it would have needed more player discussion. You don't seem to have agreed on a single course of action yet, and I'm not sure how to proceed.
Petals |
I believe the plan is as follows.
Start: Petals goes back, tells them no, we won't enter, unarmed and naked. Try to get them to come out and negotiate. If they do, go to path 1. If they don't, go to path 2.
Path 1: They come outside. We try to talk to them into selling the ashes. If they agree, path 1.1, if they don't, path 1.2
Path 1.1: Make a deal, go home happy, with no violence.
Path 1.2: Try to force our way in when they try to go back inside, once they open the door that is, go to Violence.
Path 2: Petals says let her try one more time to convince the others to go inside. We go just out of sight, casts an illusion of us talking to make them think we are still there. We head for the other door, Faustinia summons an earth elemental and intructs it to attack the first door when Petals starts pounding the other door (after Catina casts Bull's Strength on Petals). Go to Violence.
Violence: we fight.
Hope that is right.
Varius Liberare |
I swear there is nothing more confounding in pathfinder PbP than a locked door.
To clarify what Petals is saying and what everyone is doing:
1. Petals tries to negotiate. Either they fight us or lock us out.
If they come out to fight, we fight. I imagine what Faustinia does will depend on the context.
If they refuse to deal, Petals and Varius will take on the door they came through. Faustinia will then summon an earth elemental at the -second- door to make some noise and split their attention.
Lady Faustinia Xerysis |
Hey all, not feeling so well today, I'll probably need another day to post.
Petals |
The site still seems to hate me, but checking up to make sure everyone is still out there and well. Hope all of you had a happy Halloween, if you have Halloween where you're at that is. If not, hope you had a happy Tuesday!
