Lady Faustinia Xerysis |
Hm. I think you should be able to, since I can when I click on the map link at the top of the page (even on mobile). It wouldn't hurt to check the edit permissions, though.
Catina Bon Durati |
And I'm back. It's been a pretty good weekend, with a rather tough multi-table special (Siege of the Diamond City) to close the Sunday. Any, I've read up and post my action shortly.
Giuseppe, two points:
- It seems like the link to the maps in your profile line doesn't work. The one at the top of the campaign does work.
- I'm going to assume that Catina's DR/silver doesn't provide any protection against the natural attacks of devil, since they have the same DR type.
GM Giuseppe |
You're right Catina, the link wasn't working anymore. I tried to fix it, but apparently I can't seem to solve the problem.
As for your DR, I think yours should apply. Is there any rule out there that spells out that the attacks of a creature who has DR of a certain types ignore similar DRs? I think Catina's DR/silver should provide her protection against the natural attacks of devil. But that only as far as I know. Are you referring to any particular rule?
Catina Bon Durati |
I've done some searching, and you might be right. I could have been thinking about an earlier version of D&D. All I could find was this, in the Universal Monster rules, under 'Damage reduction':
Some monsters are vulnerable to magic weapons. Any weapon with at least a +1 magical enhancement bonus on attack and damage rolls overcomes the damage reduction of these monsters. Such creatures' natural weapons (but not their attacks with weapons) are treated as magic weapons for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction. Some monsters are vulnerable to good-, evil-, chaotically, or lawfully aligned weapons. (...) A creature with an alignment subtype (chaotic, evil, good, or lawful) can overcome this type of damage reduction with its natural weapons and weapons it wields as if the weapons or natural weapons had an alignment (or alignments) that matched the subtype(s) of the creature.
So, it works as I thought for DR/magic and with DR/alignment for creatures with an aligned subtype, but not with other types of DR.
--
About the link in your alias. It seems like the link is only partialy there. I've had this as well, in the past. Each field of your profile only holds a limited amount of characters. You could solve it by putting the second link in the 'Classes/Levels' field, or by using a website such as bitly.com to shorten the URL.
Varius Liberare |
I can edit the map now, thanks!
There were some updates in positioning from last round that I don't think took. Varius and Alessandro both took 5' steps back one square. The lemure then hit Varius, so I assume it followed. So I think the current layout would have Petals double-flanked unfortunately. So I'm moving Varius, Alessandro, and the dretch south one square.
Also, I think I was adding a sickened pentaly that should no longer apply as the sickened effect only lasted for the last act.
GM Giuseppe |
So I'm moving Varius, Alessandro, and the dretch south one square.
The lemure looks at Varius with a disdainful expression. "Really? A dretch? Are u confusing me with some havoc-wreaking demon? This is a deliberate insult! I protest!"

Since Faustina succeeded on the knowledge rolls, I won't bother. I should also take a rank in Knowledge (religion) next level, since it corresponds to my favored enemy.
Maybe you already knew this, Alessandro, but a single rank may not do that much compared to what you can already do unless you can make it a class skill:
Favored Enemy (Ex): At 1st level, a ranger selects a creature type from the ranger favored enemies table. He gains a +2 bonus on Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival checks against creatures of his selected type. Likewise, he gets a +2 bonus on weapon attack and damage rolls against them. A ranger may make Knowledge skill checks untrained when attempting to identify these creatures.
Lady Faustinia Xerysis |
Oh! Also, if I managed to blind the one you attacked, you should get your sneak attack dice on that too!
Catina Bon Durati |

Hey everyone, sorry for the silence. My laptop is having some problems and I was forced to leave it for repair. I hope they will solve the problem as soon as possible.
Lady Faustinia Xerysis |
Hey all, I just wanted to check in while Giuseppe resolves his laptop issues.
I realized that I never got around to saying congratulations to everyone for getting through the play's trials! It looked pretty bad at times, so I'm proud of us for working together and surviving. And of course, a thank you to Giuseppe for running it. :3
GM Giuseppe |
Hey everyone, reparing my laptop is taking more time than expected. I was told that I'll be probably getting it back on Monday. But since I can't stand the idea of letting this wonderful campaign slow down too much, today I woke up early in the morning and reached an internet point. From there, I've put together the post you can read in the Gameplay Thread. Hope you'll like it.
I'll try and visit the internet point again tomorrow morning, in order to make another post.
Also, Faustinia, thanks for the kind words. It was a great experience for me as well, and I must say that everyone did a wonderful job.
GM Giuseppe |
Oh, also, if you want to spend your hard-earned money on some new purchase, now it's the right time to do so. I don't think you'll need to describe the details of your particular transactions in the Gameplay Thread. If you list everything you want to buy/sell here in the Discussion Thread, I'm sure it will suffice for our purposes. I'll look over them with my phone and give you the OK ;)
Petals |

Alessandro Esposito |
There's nothing I really need, plus I want to save for a +1 weapon. I'll just purchase (1) potion of lesser restoration for 300 gp or 150 gp if I can get it from Ariel.
Petals |
How much more do you need for the weapon Alessandro? Petals is happy to loan what she has (no interest though if you don't pay her back she does have a BIG hammer). Any boost to the group in general is a happy thing.
Alessandro Esposito |
It's okay. I can wait. I appreciate the offer though. I have around 1600 gp. I'll need 2000 gp for a +1 weapon.
Petals |
If you change you mind, you are welcome to it. Down the road, Petals unknowing plan is armor. One arrow in the throat is enough for the poor elf girl.

Approved as well, but I would like to know where Petals would go to in order to buy the poison.
Petals |
There is a lady that many of the barmaids in the area know, who will sell them a little something to slip in a drink now and then if a customer is being too handsy, to encourage sleep or the runs or something like that. Not as strong as what she's buying today, which she thinks might be important to take someone out of the equation without having to raise too many suspicions.
Is that okay place to grab it from?
Lady Faustinia Xerysis |
Here are Faustinia's prepared spells for the day of the mayor's dinner:
2nd: glitterdust (DC 17), invisibility, locate object, summon monster II (school spell)
1st: color spray, grease (DC 16), identify, mage armor, summon monster I (school spell)
0th: dancing lights, detect magic, read magic, prestidigitation
Catina Bon Durati |
Yes that will do. Also, Catina, you still have the circlet.
Ah, that's nice. I'll re-add it to her character sheet. I though it was just on loan for the performance, but I assume that this part still 'counts' then? I had made a point earlier of returning it to Robahl, but that probably got lost in the shuffle.
Speaking of which: What about the boons that we got earlier for befriending different member of the cast. I'm assuming that the boon for the Visbaronettes is permanent, the boon for Millech is used up. What about Calceinica's boon to grant skill bonuses. Was that only for the performance yesterday, or also during the Cornucopia?
GM Giuseppe |
Calseinica's boon is not usable anymore. The one from the Visbaronettes is permanent, although you will lose it soon as well.
As for the circlet, that was my fault. It got lost in the shuffle, as you say, but after the performance Robahl insisted that you keep it, as a sort of personal "thank you" for you outstanding performance.
GM Giuseppe |
Hey all, my laptop is back and so am I! Next post is a huge one and although I've been working on it on my smartphone it is so full of codes that I will need to completely rework it on my tabletop. It's evening already here, so I won't be able to post within the day, I'm afraid. Anyaway, expect a huge post tomorrow morning!
Let's get this thing moving again!
