A man who is very weak - barely able to speak - raises his hand when Kayanor asks about "Skagni".

"Me. I am Rognvald Skagni..."

You manage to revive him enough to talk, and he explains a few things you find interesting.

First, most of the rest of the prisoners are slaves from the Lands of the Linnorm Kings - members of the Blood Ram tribe to be exact. If you just let them go without helping to get them out of the city, there will likely be many problems. Many are not currently fit for travel, either.

He is appreciative to hear that you destroyed Runa and Hjort, as he has had a pretty bad time of it since his capture.

He is even more thrilled to see that you brought his chest.

Skagni knows all about the Shadow Lodge mission to the Keep of the Huskarl King and he urges you to go after them and stop them. Should
the Lodge get the weapon hidden there, they might cause serious problems for the Pathfinder Society and among the nations of the north. Though he doesn’t know exactly what the “weapon” is, Skagni has read of its abundant power in ancient verbal tales passed down in the northern tribes of the Realm of the Mammoth Lords and knows that it’s something to be feared. The old historian studied the keep for many years and can provide you with a map to its location. He suggests that he can help you scour through any recovered journals and letters to gain further insight into the Shadow Lodge's plans.

No one seems to know what is behind the door, but they know that Glorfan was afraid to open it.

Darathys gets back on his feet, and thanks Titus for healing him. "Thank you, man. I've been a tad foolhardy, I admit..."

He responds to Kayanor comment about slavery.

Slavery is usual in my country, I see nothing wrong in it. Except when someone is put to it without proper contract.
These men don't seem to have been properly bought and use, I accept to help them get out of this country.

He gets to help each one as much as he could, using his wand if necessary to help them get better. He adds after Kayanor turns toward the door

May be it's something about this weapon ? Either way we could find something useful in it.
May a guardian of some sort is in there, like an undead creature ?

She goes and casually leans up against the door, one leg bent so her foot rests on the wall.

Upon opening the door, the blast of cold from the room beyond is sharp and shocking. The room seems dimly lit by a soft blue light and the floor twinkles as though wet. In the west wall, opposite you, stands a tall, slim door made of a dark, bluish metal and carved with hundreds of runes and sigils. Looking up, the room disappears into a cold, cloudy haze.

If you enter:

The floor here is covered with slippery ice. It costs 2 squares of movement to enter a square covered by ice, and the DC of Acrobatics checks on ice increases by 5. A DC 10 Acrobatics check is required to run or charge across an ice sheet.

Thessaly grunts with her nose wrinkled in bemusement at the idea of an icy room beyond. "The hell?" she mutters, and stomps in after Dulcie, stepping a little to one side and looking around.

LOL - Ok, no one wants to be the sacrifice, so let's do it this way. Since so many seem to know what's coming, the red herring here (the door) is sort of a bust. Also, technically, this last encounter really isn't necessary - without the faction mission, it adds nothing really necessary. However, there is 1 prestige point tied to it, and a chronicle item. So, if you want to get those last two things, place yourself anywhere in the room. If you do not, you can safely wait outside. For those who have meta-game knowledge, go ahead and act on it - you have GM permission this time only! (For those who don't, this is my way of saying, don't line up like bowling pins... cause you aren't beating this stealth.) Once you have decided, make a quick post describing your bravery or your cowardice so I know you made a choice. Fair enough?

She catches herself, turning to face the creature, and a smile overtakes her face.

She stands tall, bringing her feet together as she holds her rapier out towards the dragon.

"You should not have done that."

Wow, I didn't post last night because I was too tired to sort out tactics, but it seems no really thought was needed on my part...

Due to the overwhelming attacks from Kayanor, Darathys and Dulcinea, the poor little dragon was quickly dispatched!

The door, covered with runes, clearly seems to be something designed to make sure nothing gets in... or perhaps to keep something out. In any case, everything you try to do to open it fails - this particular job will require someone with much more power and experience.

Eventually to decide you must move on, and make a final detailed search of the lair. You discover an occasional note, a journal, and some other papers that all prove interesting. They are detailing Caggrigar’s journey to the Worldwound with an elite team of Shadow Lodge agents; that the lodge left Vermund in charge after Melkorka Skur took the remaining reliable agents and set out for the Keep of the Huskarl King; and a single, unfinished letter from Caggrigar to someone named “the Spider” in Almas that talks about the “great power” contained within the keep that the Shadow Lodge could “harness and train” to take down the Grand Lodge in Absalom once and for all. The end of the unfinished letter mentions the failure of “our illustrious leader” and hints at support should the Spider wish to usurp control of the lodge entirely.

Before Thessaly has time to process the appearance of the dragon, it is dead! Impressed despite herself, Thessaly gives a grudging nod to the quick reactions of those who felled it.

I know GM Fuzzfoot is mostly MIA for a week or so, but that's no reason to stop from pushing on in character.
