Sad to see you go Jelloarm
Foxy Quickpaw
Hey gang,
I think this is where Manteca is going to step off the ship. I've been getting way busier at work lately, to the point where I'm sometimes working way later (record so far is 2 in the am), plus the missus and I are going to need to help pack her parents up from their house and try to find a new apartment to live in ourselves. I'm dropping down to likely a lurker status on the boards, so I just don't think I can keep up the posting as the quirky lovable shirren, much as he would hate to abandon this awesome little found family.
Thanks for an awesome year of RP, and I hope you all enjoy the epic ending of the AP - it's well worth hanging around for. :) I grant full permission to Foxy to use Manteca as an NPC - maybe he stays on the ship as medic, or finally figures out the heaps of innuendo that Imagine has been piling on ;) I'll leave that up to you to decide.
See you, space cowboys.
Take care. Keep in mind:All work and no play makes Jelloarm a dull boy.
If real life stops being mean to you, we'll still be here.

t looks like Paizo just declared war on Therenger. All of his posts have been eaten.
I'm sure once he contacts customer service everything will return to normal and nothing bad will happen again ever. =)

Thanks, Foxy! I'm still getting a couple games a week IRL, and got asked to be a Venture-Agent for the local organized play scene at a new venue, so I'll still be getting my gaming in - but more and more of it at a table and less at my keyboard. Wishing the team the best of luck, and hope you all enjoy the rest of the AP - Book 4 is my personal favorite :)

Thanks Imagine! Yes, due to a "little hiccup," my Paizo account, and every trace of my activity, was accidentally deleted. My posts have been restored but my character profile is still missing almost everything. I remember enough to wing it and hopefully that detail will come back.

I'm scratching my head here at the tactical situation. The ghoul that had been attacking Maxim escaped through the front door where Boreal is standing; Boreal should get an Attack of Opportunity. That ghoul has 24 points of damage against it so one more hit should drop it. I guess, as a noob, I'm still feeling out where the tactical rules end and the story nearrative cuts in. Not that I'm complaining - I'm not going to throw a fit if my character dies - that needs to be a possibility or else there's no tension to combat. And I knew coming in that Solarians are likelier than most to get the brunt of it and go down.
Very happy when cleverness is rewarded. Is this combat over?
Maxim Petrovich
You're right - I am very used to the enemy standing their ground until they are dutifully killed. This totally changes the combat mindset in a good way. :)
Ok, so by (abandoned) you mean not in melee - that's ghoul 3 who has a gun.
But wait, If Boreal killed the one that was attacking me, that means that in round 2, the one that had been attacking Boreal in round 1 instead attacked me with bite, claw, claw. I assumed he killed the one that was attacking him, since that's how his crit on the cleave would have worked out. Did Maxim get attacked or Boreal in round 2?
Maxim Petrovich
Thanks for the clarification - that makes sense. I think what's confusing for me is when we as players don't specify which enemy we're attacking. Unless I missed something obvious, Eric did not declare a target in round 1, and in round 2, it's not clear which ghoul Boreal hit with the crit. I'm confident that you have this straight but for a player who is experiencing his very first ever Starfinder combat it's impossible to keep track. I don't need anyone to do anything different, just 'splainin myself. I really want to learn how this all works but it's like full language immersion.

Hey guys, could you please have your header read "current HP/max HP"?
I can't tell if I should heal you if I don't know if/how much wounded you are. =)
Maxim Petrovich
Hey guys! Say, I'm still very new to Paizo, but I'm learning that many players here are not only in many, many other campaigns, but also have very busy lives outside of this little slice of gaming heaven.
When I created Maxim, I thought of Zaphod Beeblebrox, minus the extra head, figuring that style of character would get on well with Imagine and Imani, and be a foil for EH-RK and Boreal. Unfortunately, we lost Imani right away and Imagine's wry humor has fallen off. So the dynamic is not as strong as it might have been.
I am more than happy to continue playing Maxim as the brash, flippant, and discourteous plot driver, as long as those qualities are not contributing to the slowdown in activity which seems to have coincided with my arrival.
If we need to shake up the party and introduce new charatcers that play better with others, I'm happy to do that too. I'm hoping still that this campaign picks up speed as we get farther along into this act. Also, as I am currently only playing in this campaign and one other, and I take breaks aways from my day job periodically to check and post, I can happily push this story until you guys have more bandwidth to jump back in.
Maxim Petrovich
Well like I said, if the interest is still there and we've just hit a slow pocket for the usual reasons, and nobody is opposed, I can push things along between combat encounters. I'm game for daily posting to move the plot forward if others want to post as they have time.

Hey guys,
I'm an elementary school principal and this is the last week of school for us so I'm super swamped at work. I'll do my best to keep up but feel free to ignore/bot/whatever me this week until at least next Wednesday.
Thanks, Niles

Sorry...sorry.
I'm, ah, I'm kinda changing careers...again.
I quit a stable job that I sort-a disliked and will now be enrolling in an 8-week class to get a certification in a field that is MASSIVELY in demand, wherein I hope to get a much, much better job that I like.
I hope.
Anyway, yeah, I have -not- been in a right head-space of late, and, alas, some thing had to go by the way-side. And Imagine does -not- tolerate people trying to drive her while not in a right headspace. *shudder*.
I know we're kicking around other characters and, yeah, I would change from Mystic to...literally anything else that's not a Mystic, if some stars aligned.
Those stars being 1) That we have an opening for it and 2) That I have time to work on the character.
Actually, no, if we allowed for me to bring in Gorn StealBreaker, my Panzer Sturm! Armor Storm soldier, I could do that fairly quickly.
Making Lord Borak the Soldier/Envoy would...take a bit more investment.

How do we want to play this? The marrowblight has never been described to us as friendly so seems ripe for an ambush. We could just smash the vehicle into the side of the hut and come out shooting. Shock and awe style.

There are two sections of the Starfinder Core Rulebook which relate to this situation. First, I'll assume we're in an All-Terrain Transport (pg 229) since its the only vehicle in the list that can accommodate all of us and a driver, and get around Eox outside. Full speed is 450 ft (50 mph), which easily outpaces the ellicoth. We could choose to do this as a vehicle chase, page 278, or I'll just ram the transport into the ellicoth, which does 7D8 collision damage.
Unless we can keep pace ahead of it while EH-RK snipes it death, we lack sufficient firepower to take this thing out conventionally, so a collission seems like our best chance.
Ruling?

All of what Maxim said is exactly what I thought would happen.
It seems reasonable that an ATV would have a top speed of 50 MPH, and it seems reasonable that that would be faster than an animal.
I have a few nicknames for some tactics that I employ on a regular basis (we have already seen "infinite hit points" ... that didn't work. ._.) This I call "infinite range." To wit, it means that if I have 1 inch more range than you, if I have a way to maintain that, I will do that.
Lotsa range comes in so -very- rarely, that I'm actually happy that we found a way to use that sniper rifle's range. (most adventure is in a space ship or building that precludes such things.)
Foxy Quickpaw
I missed the part about may speed. With that you're actuall faster than the ellicoth. It's tedious to roll that out, as you will win with these tactics, if I don't try to screw you over somehow.
So please feel free to describe yourself, how, after some fleeing and shooting, you run into the ellicoth, killing it. But I'd assume, that the vehicle is then at least heavily damaged.
