I can sell my inventory of goods for the scrolls but I would like to be paid back. Also we have to find a place to buy the scrolls that won't draw attention. Jarithe says quietly

"What!" Saul jumps up, his long legs hitting the table and spilling everyone's coffee.

"Scrolls be damned at a time like this, Little Mac. I've got to save my old partner. Now!"

All thoughts of Professor Glenell flee his head... Looks like Saul is about to stand up another woman.

"You want to charge in there and do what? Let your self be known?" Fhingle says. "He knew what he was doing, I am not saying he should die but we cannot just let ourselves be captured. I WON'T let myself be captured again." Fhingle stands up as well, it is not quite as dramatic as Saul

At Fhingle's more reasoned words, Saul sits down again...

"You are right, Little Mac. Can't go charging in... Let's use some thought. Cassius, have you been working on that Jackdaw disguise?"

"Yeah, actually. The first couple of tries looked too goofy. Feathers are difficult to work with, worse than hair. There were a couple that were too literal. But I'm pretty happy with what I've come up with."

Cassius hands Saul a sketch. You can fill in the details as you'd like, since it's a pretty major part of your character.

Cassius hands Saul a sketch of a bird-man outfit, with a long sweeping cape with feathers across the back, and a beak-like mask to hide his face. It integrates Saul's elven cloak that provides so much enhancement to his stealth abilities. It is a loose design, to allow for quick movements, quick changing, and to fit over Saul's armor. The outfit is nearly completely black, with a few gray touches here and there to prevent Saul from looking like an unnatural black spot in the shadows. The interior cape is full of pockets.

"Cassius, this is fine work. Do you have a prototype already sewn then? With this, I could hide in the shadows tonight and sneak forward to release Logan from the cage. Perhaps you could lay down a color spray on the dogs. It could be quick in and quick out... Logan should be sober so that will help..."

"I think night would be better... Jackdaw is meant to strike from the shadows, not step out in broad daylight. Not yet, anyway... not yet." He speaks slowly, with purpose, articulating his thoughts carefully.

Zea breathes a sigh of relief when Fhingle calms Saul down. "Ok. I'll help. I can try to be sneaky or cast a couple spells too. What do you need? I can make us smaller and sneakier. Or maybe we need a litle fog in the park tonight?" she says with a wink.

In my spellbook:

0: All magus cantrips
1: Shocking grasp, frostbite, chill touch, grease, illusion of calm, monkey fish, obscuring mist, reduce person, shield, true strike

Fhingle isn't taken with this idea but nods along, while everyone is talking Fhingle slips out to find Maggie.

"Maggie we may need you tonight, can you gather some info for us on how they are selecting people for these dog fights?" Fhingle then goes to check on Rexus. "Good day, I know yesterday was a lot but we will get in there and find out more for you."

"Before you go, Zea, can you identify this breastplate and mace? They are magical, but we didn't properly look at them. Hopefully we can sell some of this stuff we just got to afford the scrolls we need."

I'll keep the magical heavy mace if no one else wants. Obviously I need an alternative weapon besides the spear given my performance against those skeletons.

We also have a bunch of other items to be sold. And three things that should be appraised? The gem from the wax statue, gold plate, and gold unholy symbol.

Saul gathers the spare equipment in a pile, and hands it over to Zea and Fhingle. He also gives them 158 gold.

"Selling all this gear, and this extra money from our party fund, should be enough to get 10 of those align weapon scrolls."

The gear and misc objects should sell for 1342 so plus the gold totals 1500, enough for 10.

I'm fine with it but Zea is quite sticker-shocked. Do we know if we need the weapon aligned to overcome her DR or just to stop her regen? If it's to stop her regen, we only need a couple holy weapons.

As Saul approaches the place where the Chelish Citizen Group thugs set up the dog house he witnesses how they threaten people that watch the scene too long and usher them to move on.

But when Saul takes a seat on the bench it is feeding time and their attention is on the doghouse. One of the thugs unpacks some raw meat. Teh dogs act up and pull on their leashes that the thugs are barely able to hold them back. The meat is thrown in front of the doghouse and and the dogs are given enough leash to charge in from both sides to fight over the meat.

Out of the dog house comes Logan, on all four, the pain written in his face. His arms with wounds. He crouches closer, trying to grab a piece of the meat. The dogs bite at him, with the handlers pulling them back to not kill him, but also giving enough leash that Logan can't get at the meat. It's a derogatory procedure that leaves Logan with a small piece of the food and another bite in his arm, before he retreats back into the doghouse.

With that, and the money Saul handed them from the Raven's funds they acquire the magic wand at the temple of Abadar and then meet with Saul in his office.
