Lini watches a while until the pile is high enough. "Wonderful, it's always a pleasure to do business with you. Goodbye, until next time." she says and disappears with the payment and the mirrow in a swirl.

A long walk through the Hungry Mountains later.

The ruined remains of old monastery walls break from the dust of the Virlych landscape like jagged glass on a dirty barroom floor. Several guard towers reach feebly upward, their upper levels crumbling away. Only the sharp, bloodstained blades of Renchurch Cathedral give any hint that the area is more than just a forgotten fragment of an earlier time.

(D3) Rancid brown sludge collects in this muddy cesspool like pus in an open wound. Thick, oily bubbles rise to the surface of the pond, releasing noxious fumes and the stench of decay.

Then he walks over and watches carefully as he approaches the building looking for danger. If he sees nothing he heads in.

(D5) The ruddy glow of torchlight flickers from behind the crumbling stone stalls of this decrepit stable. Several carriages and carts clutter the grounds outside, the stench of poorly concealed corpses wafting from their warped and rotten boards.

The Whispering Way still uses these ancient stables for their original purpose, as evidenced by the parked carriages and corpse-carts outside. The carts contain the naked, maggot-ridden bodies of six human men, their throats slit and their mutilated corpses piled in a heap under grimy sheets.

You hear strange noises from something that might be horses inside.


There are going to be undead horses in there, I know it.

Grergof steps into the stable. What he sees there is for sure undead, but only in shape a horse. The bones are covered in smake and here and there a flame. Five of those horses stand in the stable eager to trample everyone entering.

The holy bomb has the desired effect on the 'horses'. And they all suffer in the holy light.

It becomes crowded at the entrance and only one horse manages to reach Darius, but the only thing it will bite with this clumsiness is the dust.

All the horses exhale smoke, that hinders sight. Surprisingly the smoke is cold.
Only 5ft sight. DC16 Fort or sickened.
