One of the healthier trees lashes out at Spugnoir as he tries to throw a bomb. This hurts Spugnoir, and the tree gets a hold of him, but that doesn't save the other tree. It goes down in flames. Which releases Darius.

But now that the trees are all surrounding the party closely, they lash out in full fury. Which has all hanging between the trees, grappled by vines.

Spugnoir is not stopped by tying him up in vines. But he feels the pain as the trees keep lashing out at him as he throws his explosives. He bombs away the two wounded trees.

Grergof gets used to his situatiuon. He get so good at taking down trees, he could make a living of it. Elsewhere less resisting trees are cut down by lots of woodcutter. But Grergof could put a swath of destruction into a forest within minutes. There is not much left of the tree for the others, but it's still holding on to them.

What little is left of the tree is almost cut down by Darius.

Abomentolor's lightning doesn't affect the tree at all.

Looking around and kicking some of the broken wood he complains. "Those fights are the worst. All that effort and pain for nothing but firewood." Just then the witchgate comes into his view again.

"Well, this is interesting..." He walks over, pulls out his dagger and tries to pry of one of the bigger gems from the bones. "It's this s~#*ty bone arc that has us stranded here, isn't it? How about you try that flail of yours on it?"


I could tyr to set up a bone eating acid that could dissolve it.

The arc is definitely more stable than normal bones. The magic, they are infused with are giving them extra strength. But some gems are shooting off and some bones are splintering.

As Grergof lays heavily into the thing with his flail, the arc starts losing. After a few minutes of heavy bashing, Grergof manages to smash a gap into it. With that the magic fades, and the remaining bones fall apart.

Taking 15 minutes to collect the shinies nets gems worth about 5000 gold.
