Seeing an opening in the southern wall, Xerxes walks into it, hoping to arrive at the other side of the creature.

Francis moves into a better position and launches a blast of electricity at the beast over Sh'yl's shoulder.

Karter readies a grenade as Xerxes works his way around back! Meanwhile Francis hits it with an arc of electricity!

Sh'yl is up!

Once again Sh'yl break the fight and moved away from the creature [occ]withdraw[/ooc], hoping to be in a better place to fight it with his comrades.

Sh'yl once again falls back as the monster reaches its tentacle out at him again!

Xerxes finishes his circling manoeuver, arriving in the octomonster's back and striking with all his expertise.

Karter steps into the open and switches out the grenade for a loose rock and hurls it at the octo.

"Glad to see you could join us!" yells Francis over the loud noises and echoes in the caves.

Seeing Xerses joining the fight, Sh'yl go back and strike at the creature.

Working together now, the party quickly brings down the alien fish creature!

That creature was certainly a worthy foe, it managed to wound me quite badly. Does anyone have any medpack?

Sorry, have nothing of the sort... but in the creature's lair it could be.

Francis moves to explore its lair for the missing shipmates.

The caverns to the north are mostly full of seaweed and dirtied water.

One central cavern the octofish seemed to be guarding. Ready to go in?

Sh'yl followed Francis, lightsaber ready.

Feel free to retcon heals and whatnot if needed/if you have them.

Hundreds of remains float in this large bowl of water, which churns with bones, scraps of flesh, and the carcasses of strange alien fish. Just visible through the roiling stew are humanoid bodies floating int he water, wan corpses drifting near the bottom of this cauldron like sleeping guardians.

Two figures hang from the ceiling above, bound hand and foot with thick strands of seaweed and sinew and weighted with heavy ingot of silver-Sandara Quinn and Jack Scrimshaw! Sandara is still conscious and looks in fairly good health considering the situation, but Jack looks quite wounded and pale.

A nasty, female octoid goblin creature lives in this cavern with a younger whale-faced creature of the same type. The younger male is a bloated monstrosity with a gaping, toothy maw. You can see that the two figures at the bottom of the pool are moving, hungry in anticipation of the fresh flesh they might be fed!

The pool is 15' deep; a DC 10 Swim check is required to stay above water. If you fail and start slipping under, you'll have those chained things at the bottom to contend with....

"Let's drag the thing we just killed in here and toss it to those creatures. They can feast on his corpse and leave us alone." Francis offers.

I'm afraid I've used my only potion.

Xerxes wades in the water, reaching for the smaller foe.

Then he strikes at her, seeking to silence her before she can react.

Xerxes finds out the hard way that her rubbery hide is quite tough!

Francis moves forward to the edge of the pool and invokes his otherworldly powers as he bathes the area in piercing fire.

So there are these two creatures and two more creatures at the bottom of the pool?

Yes. You can tell the creatures at the bottom of the pool are undead but they are also chained up so you only have to worry about them if you sink to the bottom.

The Brinebrood Queen begins casting a spell with the help of a wand in one of her tentacles. Full-round casting, which I think still applies to wands iirc.

Meanwhile her bloated offspring surges forward to protect the Queen, trying to eat Francis!

Having wandered off and gotten lost in the simple maze, Karter follows the clash of combat to the pool, ”Karter to the rescue!”. He ignites his last plasma grenade and hurls it at a spot behind the whale.

Xerxes seems to have lost his touch and Karter's grenade only singes the two foes! The Whale tries to bite at Sh'yl now:

The Queen casts a spell and touches Xerxes' metallic shirt, causing it to frost over!

"Damnnit!", Karter slides out his dagger and throws it at the whale.

Francis lays, unconscious, in the belly of the beast.

Karter's dagger clatters against the far side of the cavern and sinks to the bottom of the pool while Francis is slowly digested. Better than sinking to the bottom where the lacedons could eat you I guess.

Sh'yl hits the whale and leaves a gaping wound in its side! It is not looking good! It roars and tries to bite back at the kasatha!

Meanwhile the Brinebrood Queen laughs as Sandara lets out a moan and blood runs down her face to drip in the water and excite the octopus, which also tries to bite Sh'yl!

The octopus then disappears as BBQ stabs at Xerxes with a harpoon!
