Galter cuts into one of the apprentices! Tobian's ray flies wild and nearly hits what might be an explosive component on a shelf! Temujin finishes off the injured apprentice, allowing Thomson to move and hurt the other!

Taergan Flinn exits through the door for a few moments. He then returns with the two adventures, ragged and beaten but still mobile and alive. They both look quite confused at this turn of events but upon seeing you their faces dawn in understanding. "You did it! How did you convince Taergan to let us free?"

"Never mind that, he's not listening to that foul daemon right now and that's all for the better!" Verus cuts in. "Right now all I'm concerned about it dealing with her."

Ruckus organizes all the extra weapons and supplies the group has found along the way and offers them to Verus and Branda. He also breaks out his healing wand and makes sure everyone is in fighting condition.

Verus and Branda are at 9/32 and 4/12 HP respectively. It doesn't have full stats so I'm not sure how much ability damage (if any) that they have but they are also old, which is dragging their stats down.[/ooc]

They will take the armor and magical swords.

"Come on, you know they're right! Just help us for a little bit longer and we'll get you somewhere safe." Verus begs Flinn. The alchemist considers it for a bit and says, "Give me an hour to shut down the golem."

He then exits through the door with a few tools to work on dismantling the alchemical golem.

Ruckus gives his portion of the weirding watch to Verus, then uses his psychic powers to remove fear in his allies and shield himself from harm.

Once everyone is ready, he suggests Verus activate his watch, and when everyone with a piece is hasted, his face twists in rage and he growls, "Let's kill a f#@$in demon!"

Ruckus will enter the last fight with his dark half in charge.

I think to make things less crowded I'm going to represent Branda's and Verus' help by giving everyone a +2 to attack in the fight, as if they were aiding you every round.

You move past a room featuring empty cells and a deactivated alchemical golem. Taergan points the way to Anobaith's lair.

This dark den is the stuff of nightmares. Foul-smelling incense wafts skull-shaped puffs of smoke into the air. The room’s floor is marked with sinister sigils. A pile of furs and flayed skin acts as a makeshift bed for the room’s lone occupant, who sits demurely with her legs folded under a sheer, white gown marked with unsettling stains. The fiend resembles a classically beautiful woman in form, but her hands and feet are withered and charred, ending in black, skeletal claws. Elegant white scars cover her blue skin, and her grotesquely beautiful face is framed with blackened ram horns. A red eye glares above her brow. A menacing snake slithers out from behind her gown—a hungry, fanged tail. An actual snake, one with blue runes running down its back, slithers nearby.

Tobian hastes the party! Ruckus' missiles hit both Anobaith and the snake! He also notes that the missiles hitting the snake nearly knock the life right out of it!

The snake slithers up to Thomson and bites!

Anobaith casts a quick spell and catches everyone but Tobian in a cone of foul energy that brings crushing despair down on the party!

"The power of Mileren's Mesmeric Mirror will protect you!" The spiritualist is suddenly surrounded by a pair of illusory duplicates.

I forgot to ask, any type of knowledge checks to determine resistances and such for these enemies?

With my trace ability I should have had another +2 to init, sorry. I also get to act in the surprise round. Without retconning too much...I will move up to Anobaith and then take 2 attacks (full round) on Anobaith vs. her FF AC since my init+2 would beat hers. :) I also ignore 3 points of DR if it is more than DR/magic (since I have a magic weapon). I'll use the +1 holy scimitar...

Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 12 + 1 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 17 + 2d6 ⇒ (5) + 17 + (4, 5) = 31

Haste Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 12 + 1 = 20

Will save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 crushing despair and 1 negative level. Both of which wouldn't affect my attacks this round...so I hope they hit :)

Good Hope:+2 morale bonus on saves, attack rolls, ability checks, skill checks, and weapon damage rolls. Also counters crushing despair. So they essentially cancel each other out.

Thomson easily finishes off the snake! Galtar hits Anobaith with his first hit but she dodges his second! Ruckus then tears at her mind!

Anobaith wears an interesting item: a gorget of living whispers. Crandel’s and Tulles’s equipment are stowed in the cabinet on the east wall. She also wears 2,300 gp in jewelry decorated with four smoky gray soul gems.

Once per day as a standard action, the wearer of this collar can speak a suggested course of action. Her words coalesce into a living whisper—a sinuous creature with blue runes lining its back—that appears in a square adjacent to her. The living whisper uses the statistics of a fiendish venomous snake (Pathfinder RPG Bestiary 255, 294), but has an Intelligence score of 3 and can communicate telepathically with the gorget’s wearer. Instead of being poisoned, any creature bitten by the living whisper must succeed at a DC 14 Will save or be affected by a suggestion spell (CL 9th). This suggestion is determined when the living whisper is summoned and affects all creatures bitten by it. Creatures that can read Aklo can read the runes on the living whisper and know what suggestion is carried by its bite. A living whisper lasts for 1 minute or until slain.

Crandel and Tulles take Flinn into their own custody to nurse his mind back to health after the control of the daemon. He admits to working on an elixir or device which would extend the lives of his friends so that they could stay young like him, a half-elf, and remain with him longer. It was this desire, so innocent at first, that led him to follow the daemon.

Back in Cassomir, you are quickly hailed as heroes when the tale of your daemon slaying is told. The city of Cassomir declares Tristeza House devoid of ownership, and offers you right of first refusal on the condition they help manage the monsters and other hazards of the Verduran. All three of them offer their own weirding watches to you as rewards.

And that concludes the module! There were a couple other side-quests in the forest you could have finished up on the way back but I'm fine hand-waving that you accomplished them. Seems rather anti-climactic to go back and seek out a few random monsters, especially now that you are a level higher than suggested for those encounters.

Thanks for running, EF! That made for an interesting party. I see that some of the psionic classes have kept the nova effect of the 3.5 classes--fair lot of damage getting thrown around, there. Mesmerist came across as seriously underpowered relative to the others in that setting.
