Tobian rushes back and introduces the party to their enemy. Tireless hunters, stealthy trackers, and deadly predators, shadow mastiffs stalk the dark corners of the Outer Planes, preying upon all beings that stray from the light. These beasts have little in common with actual canines aside from their general forms (although with the notable addition of a long, spiked tail), their bodies being the evolution of countless centuries hunting the most merciless wildernesses of the Outer Planes and the Shadow Plane. On the Material Plane, they prefer to travel in shadow, moving soundlessly and unseen to find prey, hunting in vicious sport just as often as in hunger.
They have concealment unless in full daylight. Their bay or bark can terrify victims
I assume it takes a full round to run back.

Even after decades of neglect, this sitting room seems luxurious—out of place amid the horrors of the surrounding territory. A few small couches and tables once served the needs of the manor’s visitors, but most are threadbare and splintered. Grand stairs sweeps along the north wall and rises to the second floor. Sheets of iron and wood have been nailed to strengthen the exterior wall, further disrupting the room’s high-society feel.

Tobian leads the way into what seems to be the ballroom, complete with grand entrance from the side door.
The interior paints a very different picture from the broken windows and walls outside. Planks of wood reinforce the pocked walls, though the old wood and its soiled paper covering are perforated with a few small holes here and there.
The ballroom itself is expansive with high, paneled walls and a hardwood floor. Dead plants wilt in moldered pts in the corners, and moth-eaten cloth chairs dot the north and south walls. Overhead, two dusty, lead-crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling.

The small holes catch the attention of Tobian and he tries to determine what caused them. After that, he'll move to check out the next set of doors while the other investigate the room.

Temujin cautiously edges around the outside of the room, avoiding the chandeliers. "Those things could fall at any minute."
If he can get to the window without issue, then he will draw the curtains or rub away the dust to let some light into the room.

The party carefully moves into the room but before much searching can be done three orb-like creatures made mostly of an ever-gnashing maw pop out of thin air and assault the party!
You recognize these from before; they are cacodaemons. DR/good or silver; immune to acid, death effects, disease, and poison; resistance to cold, electricity, and fire
