If Marcus has the wand of cure light wounds;
Marcus pulls the wand from his belt and touches Becher with it, hoping to stop the bleeding that he currently sees.
If Marcus does NOT have the wand of cure light wounds;
Marcus seeing that Becher is still bleeding, tries to stabilize the man.
Untrained Heal: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20 Yea, finally a good roll!

Marcus does indeed have the wand.
Tomnus catches the arrow in his staff and darts forward thrusting the end of his staff into the throat of the man who shot him.
charge attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 2 = 25
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
As the man gasps for breath Tomnus taunts him by saying Don't ever fight and old man, I've lived through to much to fight, I'd kill you before we could even have a chance to duke it out, so unfortunately this lesson is going to be learned the hard way.

Lia runs along the tops of the casks, getting herself into a position on the last one in line where she'll be able to snipe those coming in through the stillroom. As she leaves her previous location, she'll call out, "More this way!"
Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Readied action to shoot any foe who enters through the stillroom door.

Milo, frustrated that he can't seem to get a good line on the guards for his burning hands spell, curses angrily in an strange language then makes a quick gesture with his hand and suddenly a bright flame bursts into existence therein, as he moves out from behind cover.
Cast Produce Flame (don't think I can start tossing them 'til next round however)

Falcon takes down the guard while Marcus rushes over and heals Becher to keep him from dying (at +5 now). He awakes, eyes wide with terror, and screams, "You'll never take me alive!" adding in a whisper to Marcus, "Where is the chest? I need the deeds!"
Tomnus moves up and discharges enough electricity to bring the second guard to the ground. Lia moves along to the still-room while Milo casts a spell and creates a ball of fire in his hand.
The banging on the door outside the still-room grows louder as the mercenaries start to beat through the door and scream for Becher's blood!
Initiative:
1. Lia, Marcus, Tomnus, and Milo
2. Guards
3. Falcon
You guys are up!
You basically have one more round to act before they beat through the door.

![]() |

"If what is in the chest won't kill these guys, it can wait" Marcus responds to Becher. He then shoots an arrow at the man fighting with Falcon, and the arrow sails over the mans head.
longbow;att;dmg:: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 - 4 = 41d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Soldier 1; edit: *sigh* I can't hit ANYTHING

EndlessForms |

@Marcus: that soldier has already been taken down. Sorry, I forgot to remove them from the map.

EndlessForms |

No, go ahead and retcon your action, that was my fault for not getting rid of their tokens. There's no one left to shoot at. You can move or do something else if you'd like.

![]() |

Ah. Ok. *both* soldiers are down. I missed that.
"If what is in the chest won't kill these guys, it can wait" Marcus responds to Becher. He then nocks an arrow, and waits for the doors to the north open and will fire on the men coming thru.

![]() |

Adding a note on Lia's action: A) If the door is open and she can get inside and hide, she'll move into the still room and hide behind the large vat-structure there, readying an action to attack the hostiles as they move through the door to the rest of the distillery (flanking if possible). B) If that action isn't possible, she'll maintain her previous actions of held to attack.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 4

EndlessForms |

The door into the stillroom is not locked.
The party moves over towards the stillroom and prepares for the next wave of invading soldiers. Lia positions herself behind the large still.
One of the soldiers kicks down the door and aims his longbow at Tomnus
attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 2 = 16
damage: 1d8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 2 = 7
The second soldier bursts through the broken door and charges Marcus with his longsword.
longsword charge: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 2 + 2 = 24
damage: 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 2 = 9
Initiative:
1. Lia, Marcus, Tomnus, and Milo
2. Guards
3. Falcon
[ooc]You guys are up!
You now hear more banging from a weak spot in the wall in the taproom! (marked on map)

Falcon moves up, attempting to take care of the one who injured his comrad. I hope this is worth all your lives
Move Action: Approach Soldier#2

Assuming the Falcon put Soldier 2 down
Marcus not realizing that he was so close to the melee combat, moves back thirty feet and uses the cure light wand on himself.
clw wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Tomnus deflects the arrow with the business end of his quarterstaff and then moves to close in on the soldier, leaping in the air to bring the staff down on top of the soldier's head.

Lia waits for either guard to come into range before attacking him.
Held Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 5 if applicable

At this point I'm assuming Falcon took care of guard2 ... If guard1 is still standing at this point after Tomnus and Lia had a piece...
Milo shifts slightly for a clearer view, then throws the flame still burning brightly in his hand towards the final guard.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Fire Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
As quickly as the flame leaves his hand, another one forms in its place.
If both are down before it gets to him, then he will instead ready an action to cast on whoever is coming through the wall.

EndlessForms |

Falcon slices one of the guards in two. The rest of the party works together to bring down the second guard.
The banging on the wall grows louder as the soldiers struggle to break through!
Initiative:
1. Lia, Marcus, Tomnus, and Milo
2. Guards
3. Falcon
You guys are up!

![]() |

Hey, you guys are so good at putting these guys down, Milo's small AE isn't really needed =) So for now, he'll just use the last of his Produce Flame
Milo waits with the others for the new threat to show itself. When they do (as a readied action), he once again throws the ball of flame in his hand at the one furthest back. (Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 (for Fire Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3).
This time, the flame does not reform in his hand, the magic expended.

Lia moves to join the others in the next room, dropping her rapier point-first into the floor near the large vats and drawing her shortbow.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21 for sounds coming from elsewhere in the building; suspect this is a distraction

EndlessForms |

Falcon and Milo ready to hit the guards when they bust through. Lia gives a listen but doesn't hear any other signs of forced entry at the moment.

1. Lia, Marcus, Tomnus, and Milo
2. Guards
3. Falcon
Lia, Marcus, and Tomnus: any actions before they burst through?

![]() |

Lia's action was to get in position with her shortbow. If we get another action, she'll ready an attack.
Shortbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Sneak Attack, if applicable: 1d6 ⇒ 3

EndlessForms |

Oh, you're right Lia. I forgot that you already took your action this round moving into position, sorry. You can keep that roll for next round when they bust in though, if you'd like. You wouldn't get sneak on that attack though because they would have already acted.

EndlessForms |

One of the guards finishes kicking in the wall and then raises his longbow and aims at Falcon.
attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 2 = 21

The second guard rushes in with his longsword drawn and brings it down on Tomnus.

2. Guards
3. Falcon

Apologies, computer had no power. I left the brick at my camper, and just got back today to get it.
As more soldiers break thru another portion of the distillery, Marcus shoots an arrow at the soldier standing in the back.
Soldier 1; longbow;att;dmg: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 171d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

EndlessForms |

So sorry, I was in a rush this morning and completely forgot about your readied actions! Allow me to retcon what just happened.
One of the soldiers, longbow in hand, kicks in the wall while his buddy stands beside him with his longsword drawn. The party was ready for them, however, and Falcon steps up and downs one of them in one fell hit. Milo throws a ball of flame at the other soldier and singes him.
The longsword guy will get his attack off on Tomnus from above at this point.
Marcus then saves the day by putting an arrow through the man's eye and dropping him to the ground.
Out of combat. . . for the moment.
The mercenary soldiers outside begin screaming louder than ever but their tone changes dramatically. They are frantic and violent and soldiers begin screaming about flesh-eating ghouls. There are horrific screams outside as soldiers are apparently devoured by the monsters. After a few more horrifying seconds, everything goes silent.
You have eight rounds to do any preparations and healings.

![]() |

clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Marcus uses the wand to heal himself back to full health. "Anyone else hurt?" he queries.
If anyone replies, he will use the wand on them.
Going to Becher, "Besides the deeds, what else is in the box? Something we can use against the undead?"

![]() |

"Nice of the soldiers to bash down all the doors for the undead masses." Milo observes absently. "There a spot we can defend that's not so exposed?"
either the still room if we can block the southern doors, or the room bottom left on the map perhaps? Less we go on the offensive I suppose.
any way to get a peak outside to see what's going on out there?
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 if it matters.
oh, and who has the remove paralysis potion? Might come up soon.
how long has it been since we started down the tunnel from the cave entrance? More then an hour I'm assuming, so my mage armor has worn off. He'll put on those bracers of armor we found (if no one objects)

![]() |

I hope no one minds - I moved everyone to the top room, and here is the plan I suggest
Drag Belcher to north area Red square
Barricade up the top most door, to hopefully buy some time if whatever it is tries enter that way. Purple lines - no entry
Throw some debris at the southern door Blue lines, difficult terrain, no charging through
If as I suspect the enemy comes from the south we have an area of death and ready attacks to murder anything that comes through. If they come from the other way hopefully we have at least a round to switch and prepare for an attack from the other direction.

EndlessForms |

Milo looks around outside but it is dark and he sees nothing but the occasional soldier running past with a frightened expression on his face.

![]() |

"Of course Falcon" replies Marcus as he expends another charge of the wand.
clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
4 charges total (2 Marcus, 1 Becher, 1 Falcon)
I moved Marcus behind Tomnus, in front of Becher. He has not chosen his weapon style yet but it keeps looking like it will be archery. Also, I would suspect that Lia wants to be in the 2nd row also so she can use her bow.
@Milo - Use them!
@GM - Any response from Becher on my question?

EndlessForms |

"The deeds," Becher replies, "we can't let them go missing."
Looks like you guys have a plan together. Ready to go?

![]() |

Milo is ready to burn! He will keep his alchemist's fire in hand, just in case there needs to be more burning.
Milo casts a light spell into the room beyond, so there are not too many shadows back that way, then stand nervously and excitedly ready to throw fire in the same direction should targets present themselves.

EndlessForms |

Milo: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Marcus: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Tomnus: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Lia: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
ghouls: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
The party drags Becher into the back room and barricades the door smashed down by Grald's mercenaries. Moments later ghouls begin to claw at the barricade as two more come shambling in from the south!
Initiative:
1. Milo, Marcus, Falcon, Tomnus, and Lia
2. ghouls
