"Woah, Lady Belhaim! We're dragon-slayers, alright. But you should know that the dragon we're fighting claims to be Aeteperax reincarnate. He looked like a rotting dragon with torn flesh and empty eyes. How did you defeat him the first time? What weaknesses can we take advantage of?"

Alice picks up the longbow. "This is bigger than I'm used to, but looks splendid. I really ought to learn to use this!" Totally considering a fighter or ranger dip to get access. "But someone else should hang onto it for now."

***Edit - Alice can't use it anyway because it's a +2 Str longbow. Sadness.

"That breastplate looks even nicer than my chainmail, Harsk, if you can fit your gut in it."

Kurth takes a look at the sword, as well, comparing it to his flametongue. He appears uncertain, and looks questioningly at Harsk. [b]"I guess this sword of Tula's could turn into a hammer if you shake it hard enough. Think you'd use it, or would you rather not get that close to any dragons we fight?"

"And didn't Milloy think there was something fishy with old Eighty-per-Axe? Like he wasn't making no noise? What do you think, Miss Tula? The old dragon wasn't a mute when you fought it, was it?"

There is no response to Alice's questions and Kurth's questions go unanswered as well.

"Drat, I guess Lady Tula is gone now. Let's try the room with the statues once we get dressed."

Alice takes 6 of the 10 dragonsbane arrows and the arrow of dragon slaying.


The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Down the stairs, the party finds a layer of brackish water covering the floor and filling the air with the scent of minerals. The door at the bottom of the stairs is locked but can be opened with Bassy's key.

Nearly freezing water floods the floor of the long, oval chamber beyond to a depth of one foot. A single stone sarcophagus, its lid carved to resemble a handsome human aristocrat, sits at the western end of the room. Four circular alcoves open into the room at the western end as well, each of which contains a less ornate stone sarcophagus.

As you enter the room, a sarcophagus in one of the four alcoves slowly grinds open as its inhabitant, an undead with glowing red eyes, clambers up and out into the water.

Harsk sheathes his warhammer and draws his holy symbol, calling out to Torag. "Oh mighty Torag - forger of all. Please, bless me and my companions in our struggles against this undead!"

Casting Bless. Each ally gains a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects.

With Harsk's blessing Alice is able to finish off the wight!

Out of combat!

The sarcophagus in the middle has a body which wears a mnemonic vestment. Its bony hands still slutch a maximize metamagic rod. On the left hand is a platinum wedding band set with a ruby worth 1250 gp and on the right a ring of force shield.[ The body also wears a pair of slippers of spider climbing on its feet.

And that's it for Tula's crypt! Level up to 5 before we head to the Monastery of Saint Kyerixus. You can also return to Belhaim to shop or rest for a bit if you want.

Alice remains tense for a few moments until it seems like the wights have truly stopped coming. "Well, at least the wights didn't come out all at once. Thanks for coming to help us, Maffei. We're headed to the Monastery of Saint Kerixus next. I don't know if that dragon is going to be there, but if so, it'll be pretty dangerous.

Head back and rest? Alice can always press on, but I'd imagine our casters want their 3rd level spells!

This rod seems to interest me a great deal. So does this ring. I'm not sure about the rest. Do we have a count on how much gold we'll each receive from the loot?

Eight weather-worn statues in various martial poses flank a tiled patio leading up to the monastery's gate. The weathered, iron gate is ajar. A guardhouse lies to the north, and three narrow arrow slits face ominously southward from its facade.

As you approach the gatehouse, you hear a small voice calling out in Common, "You there! You here with the money? Where is it? Show us! Lord Aeteperax is impatient!"

Whenever you guys are done leveling and getting ready, take your time. Didn't mean to jump ahead if you weren't ready yet.

I'm ready, just surprised we jumped ahead so fast!

"Do you know how hard it would be to carry 776,000 gold pieces? We have some of it, and more is on it's way. But we have something that's more important." Alice waves a tome in the air, though it is in fact just some generic book.

There is some murmuring amongst the kobolds for a moment and then one shouts back, "Ok! Bring us what you have then." The three kobolds step outside the gatehouse to approach you.

If you want to take them down, we can just hand-wave that you do. At this point three kobolds aren't going to do much to you.

I knew I forgot to do something. I'll finish up this afternoon, mainly buying scrolls and such. The leveling is finished just not updated yet.

Milloy will follow any direction that Alice gives as this is her gambit, up to and including taking out the three kobolds (and any others that decide they want to face their death).

"Er, yeah, I got something here in my scabbard for ya," Kurth says, following Alice's lead. When he gets close enough, he'll draw his sword and sharpen it on kobolds.

The party quickly takes care of the kobold guards and heads into the monastery proper:

The monastery grounds are exquisitely sculpted. Manicured lawns, well-trimmed trees, and a serene reflecting pool all give the place a peaceful air.

"Huh. And I thought the kobolds were supposed to have left the area after we paid them a visit." The archer checks the bodies for any information, before looking about. "So, where too?"

Might as well start here at this building. I moved myself up to the crossway and will suggest having Alice check the door to the gatehouse to the left. If nothing more is found there (as I doubt the kobolds had much we could then start at the building to the north of here.

This grand hall is nearly one hundred and fifty feet long, with a vaulted ceiling twenty-five feet overhead. Niches in the walls frame marble statues of monks in poses of meditation, and thick pillars run down the center of this impressive chamber.

Milloy nods to Alice. Big enough for a dragon, I'd say. However, I don't see one here. Milloy will do the usual with his Detect Magic as Alice scopes the place out as the party makes its way across to the other doors. Unless someone else has a better idea.
