Verathis enters the room,sees Gellion and gets ready to cast grease at the boys feet if Gellion gets 10ft. closer.

Verathis does not get to act while initiative is still being resolved. And nobody got a surprise round in this combat(I suppose I could have rolled perception for Gellion to notice the combat and room-searching but I decided he was too into his experiments).
Now is round one. I moved you back on the map and was going to let you keep the action or amend it on your turn. Honestly, grease has a decent range and Verathis has 30ft of movement so you should be able to do all of your actions regardless.
You jumped the gun, that's all. It happens pretty often in pbp.

The grotesque gigantic fly (bigger than a dog!) seeks Grel with its snaking proboscis.

Meanwhile, Verathis' flames lick greedily at the swarm.

While Ink skitters across the greasy floor to sting Gellion, unfortunately his experience with alchemical agents allows his body to shrug off the poison

At the same time, the swarm drifts away from the flames again.
