I'm going to be out of town for my college graduation.
It all makes sense now: Astra was your timid, mid-dissertation self: hoping for a pass but fearing for the worst.
Angus is the absurd combination of relief and drunken revelry which comes with graduation.

Hyngrot |

Waiting until morning won't make the track check harder (not 24 hours), and it will give us overnight to rest, which would help Hyngrot since he's at 6 hp at present. Of course if it rains...
I just don't like the idea of fast tracking with the -5/-20 and all. With a +9, that'd give a 50/50 shot at a DC 15.
I guess my opinion is dependent on how everyone else is resource wise?

Angus Alehammer |

Angus is at full, and can double as the meat-shield if need be.
If we do decide to go ahead, I think that we have Angus and Daxius flank her in melee while everyone else hangs back and provides assistance if needed. She's a caster, so that means forcing her into melee from the surprise round should limit our expose to her spells and the amount of damage we take.

Daxius Veronius |

Sounds good. Daxius will shoot one arrow then wade in.
I'm not as sold as Daxius is on the whole "push on while injured" plan, but I have to admit that I'm kind of enjoying being the opinionated take-charge kind of PC in this game. It's sort of against my usual type. Feel free to call Daxius on his BS any time; I have no intention of derailing things if I'm outnumbered.

GM Elberion |

I was stymied by the Paizo shutdown.
I'll get things going again soon.

Hyngrot |

Wow, Xmas is over! Gotta say this has been a draining one for me. Hope everyone had a good holiday season (for those who celebrate).
Looking over my PBPs this morning, I realize it's been a bigger interruption than I thought it would be. So going through and apologizing to all my games for the somewhat unexplained absence and getting updates in as applicable.
Yea, the shutdown also didn't help much. Kept seeming the site was down every time I checked for a couple days there.

Pontia Canario |

Apologies for the shameless plug, but if anyone's interested in adding another game I have a couple of openings in a PbP campaign HERE. Two of the players had RL issues come up and had to back out. Fifth level, 20 point build, standard WBL, two traits. The characters being replaced are a TWF fighter and a Ranger (Guide)1/Inquisitor 4; remaining characters are a human Sorc5, a nagaji Monk (Master of Many Styles)5, and a half-orc Bar2/Battle Oracle 3. The original recruiting thread post is HERE. PM me if you're interested.

GM Elberion |

I'll drop a PM, if he doesn't get back then I'll GMPC him for a bit.

GM Elberion |

Adam just dropped me a PM that he was off celebrating his graduation.
Game should resume shortly.
huzzar!

Hyngrot |

Just to let everyone know, tomorrow night I'll be attending a work holiday party, then Sunday I leave to Florida for a week. I'll try to make sure everything's as up to date as I can before the party tomorrow, but after that probably won't be able to post until at the hotel Sunday night. I should be able to post every night while in Florida, but if there's a delay it'd be work related. I come back next Friday if I completely disappear during this time for some reason.

Pontia Canario |

I'm going to be at a con this weekend, and am not sure how much access I'll have. (Haven't checked if hotel internet is free.) Charlie Stross is GoH; I'm told Alistair Reynolds is also showing up, which is surprising considering it's in Detroit Michigan...not exactly his normal stomping grounds. I may have misunderstood, though.

GM Elberion |

Something to consider.
I generally don't like dropping gear on players that they can't use.
In my Golarion, good temples will pay a finders fee for evil magic items so they they can destroy them.
Obviously, they're harder to find in Cheliax but Arael can arrange something with the underground church of Iomedae.
You might want to destroy the witch-token immediately but the option is there.

Took long enough. She'll increment all her skills but the obvious by 1, and take Augment Summoning for her L3 feat. Her new spells are Summon Monster II and Web. And I think she's done.
Hyngrot, what are you taking for your favored community? (The choice is a little more clear-cut for you than for the urban ranger I'm playing in a CC game. We're still in Ravengro, but we won't be there for much longer.)

Hyngrot |

Perhaps I'm confused by something. I thought we were in Westrcrown (well, at present the surrounding environs of it). In fact searching Gameplay and Discussion, the only Ravengro reference I found was yours above. No snark intended, honestly curious. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong.
My plan is to take Westcrown. If this is a tad too open a choice and would rather limit it, I do understand and would ask how to do so.

Hyngrot |

/facepalm
I'm even in a CC game at present, so the town was familiar enough to me to recognize the name. Just couldn't figure out the connection.
As stated my plan is Westcrown for the favored community, if that's acceptable with GM Elberion.

GM Elberion |

Westcrown is fine as a favoured community.
Um, is it me or did Hyngrot roll a d20 for hit points?
Still, it was a number in the 1-10 range so all is well. :D

Angus Alehammer |

Yes he did.
Though to be fair, Angus has had good rolls for HP, so I'm starting to get worried. The fates that govern the dice be fickle.

Hyngrot |

LOL!! Sorry about that, can't believe I did that. Just used to rolling 20s I guess. If you want me to reroll, I'm more than happy to do so. Just let me know what you want me to do.
Also just a heads up I'm in a hotel for the next two weeks with the worst internet I've ever seen in my life. Takes forever to load ANY website. Just in case I seem to disappear, feel free to bot me if needed.

Nicolai Beauturne |

This alchemist apologies for the delay in posts

All skills +1.

GM Elberion |

Some questions:
Any plans for the bandit camp, or bandit corpses?
The plan seems to be to head back to Westcrown, borrow horses, retreve wagon, investigate seal... does that seem right?

GM Elberion |

Sorry, I'll get on it.
My off-line group are very into planning and organising stuff and don't really like it when I 'move the game along' but I know I need to do it more with online games.
I really like GMing this group, just fell off the pace for a moment.

Hyngrot |

Regarding loot, I won't have much chance until this weekend, but I could try to compile a list when I can. But my schedule is kinda hellish at present. If someone else would rather do it, let me know. Otherwise I'll see what I can do.

Hyngrot |

So before I said I'd try to find time to accumulate a list of loot. Well, only took nearly a month :)
This is what I was able to find, but it seems some may be doubled up. Posting this here as a worksheet and will try to make it look organized in the next post I make.
Loot link 1
The strongbox contains:
Zircon , Carnelian, Obsidian x2, Freshwater pearl, Tigereye
and
1pp
27gp
58sp
246cp
Loot link 2
Working your way through the camp you find.
Two broken sets of armour which, if repaired, show signs of high-quality workmanship: broken masterwork splint mail and broken masterwork leather armour.
A small, glass mirror, obviously valuable but hard to assess worth appraise check needed.
A peculiar saddle with feather designs masterwork exotic saddle.
In the shack you also find a small, locked strongbox. The dead man with the silver sword has the key on a thong around his neck.
Loot link 3
The woman is carrying little: a few coins (2sp, 7cp) nestle in a flat, leather purse; a curved dagger is strapped to her belt and a series of small, wooden effigies hang from her sash, mostly owls.
Her fist, when un-clenched, contains a round, flat piece of black stone. The black is faultless and uniform in colour: the deep blackness of a fresh seam of coal. The stone disk like a small ice-hockey puck contains a deeply incised image of grotesque bat-like creature.
It feels unexpectedly heavy and cold in your hand.
Loot link 4
Angus finds the hut a bit of a mess, tables overturned, draws emptied... after a few minutes earching he picks out his gear. The hut also contains:
a small map
a suit of splint mail (masterwork)
a military saddle of strange design
a pouch full of gems: Zircon, Carnelian, Obsidian, Freshwater (irregular) pearl, Tigereye, Obsidian
a stack of 10 platinum coins
three strange, ornate keys
Loot link 5
In one of the tents, Angus finds a small, finely-crafted box containing a pipe with a ram's head design and a decent supply of tobacco. He also finds his own set of thieves' tools.
appraise dc20:
Pontia finds two silvery-pink potions in the swordsman's pouches, alongside three bottles of alchemists fire.
spellcraft dc18:
two rather syrupy-smelling potions of cure light wounds

Hyngrot |

Here's a more organized breakdown of loot. I notice we have a small map and some keys that I couldn't find any specific mention of whether we made further rolls on.
Also I couldn't find a list of what we found on the bandits themselves. Though I'm not sure we specifically mentioned that or not.
Gems
Zircon, Carnelian, Obsidian x2, Freshwater pearl, Tigereye (These need a DC20 appraise check still)
Zircon, Carnelian, Obsidian, Freshwater (irregular) pearl, Tigereye, Obsidian, (no value listed)
Coins
11pp
27gp
60sp
253cp
Armor
MW Splint Mail, broken
MW Leather Armor, broken
MW Splint Mail
Weapons
Curved dagger
Other
Mirror 90gp
MW Exotic Saddle
Owl effigies
Military Saddle for flying mount
Small map
Three keys containing House Argentiomi standard
Pipe with Ram's head design & Tobacco (DC 20 Appraise Check still needed)
Two silvery pink potions (DC 18 Spellcraft check still needed)
Three bottles of alchemist fire

GM Elberion |

Keen-eyed observers will have noticed that your GM accidentally detailed the gemstones twice.
You've just got them once.

Daxius Veronius |

I'd make the following suggestions:
Split the cash 5 ways, between the PCs.
Sell the gems, 5 way split. (Daxius does not have appraise.)
Get an armory started at the temple, donate the armor and dagger.
Sell the mirror, saddles and pipe, 5 way split.
I suggest the alchemist fire goes to Pontia, Nicholai and Daxius.
Owl, potions? (Daxius can't ID them.)
