Maeve volunteers for the first watch.

Male Human Bard 5 flame dancer 46 hp max, F 3, R 5, W 5 AC 19

Two people per watch, I will be with Maeve, Then Deyemi and Barnabas and then Glicky and Kalina?

Ba-a-a-arnabas nods. "Tha-a-a-at works."

He gets ready to settle in for the night. But then he turns to the others.

"Perha-a-a-aps you would like to show me the artifacts you found? It's my field."

I don't know what kind of rolls are necessary to analyze an artifact, but I do have "avoid artifact disaster" which I assume would help.

After that, I will take those two hours to use my healing and then sleep. I won't meditate when I am supposed to be on watch.

Also... as a Sentient Longhorn Sheep, can I eat grass and leaves? Or do I have to eat "human" food like everyone else?

Shot Putter Funkmeister

I would say you could eat both. The leaves in the forest are ok but the strange colors of the grasses in this part may frighten you. Artifacts

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Baarnabas, feel free to roll for the artifacts, you can do one or two before going to bed. Feel free to

Deyemi, on your character sheet, I do not see your perception.

The night goes by without a hitch and when you wake up. All of the moss and grasses near you campsite look to have been eaten or trampled.

DC 10 hunting

Spoiler:
The tracks left seemed to be from a large group of Hoppers.

Kalina climbs into a nearby tree and soon is fast asleep. When she is awakened for her watch, she sleepily climbs down and takes up her spear.

Okay... what do I roll? I don't see an "analyze artifact" skill.

Shot Putter Funkmeister

First you choose on of the artifacts described in the post above, then roll me a d10, I will then look at the comparative difficulty of the item vs. your Use artifact score and then take your result and compare it to the table.

Male Mutant Sentient Animal Examiner 1 | HP 27/46

Ba-a-a-arnabas picks a couple of objects out of the pile of loot.

"Hmmm... these look interesting."[/ooc]

I'll go with these: (BTW, what is "nograin?" Is that plastic?

You could just describe it, rather than assuming I know what "nograin" is.

Use Artifact #1: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Use Artifact #2: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Sorry, nograin is what your character would call it. Its hard because nograin is used to show that your character isn't really sure what it is. It has no grains like say wood would have or resin. No grain could mean plastic, fiberglass, resin, rubber or anything of that nature. :)

Artifact one, you figure out it is a keypad that was used to make some sort of payments in the past. You are able to turn it on and it reads, Please type in vendor identification number which you are successful in doing and then it states Please type in sales price

Artifact 2: You seem to be making some progress but it gives you 1 point of damage. Please give me another d10 roll

Male Mutant Sentient Animal Examiner 1 | HP 27/46

"Da-a-a-a-amn it! Wait, I got it..."

Use Artifact #2: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Sparky

Did we get a porcelain, i mean nograin, crown of the ancient gods with neck ring?

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Not yet, but soon! :)

Baarnaba slaps the machine and realizing the three metal circles are some sort of revolving knife system, finds the switch, it starts to hum and circles begin to turn cutting off some of his fur. You found an electric razor and before a credit card reader. They are pretty valuable on Meriga

"Hmmm, i-i-i-interesting. The people of my House back in Kin would be interested to see these things. But I don't see how they could have helped us back in the caves."

Ba-a-a-arnabas then settles down to meditate, and after that tucks in to get some sleep.

"Wa-a-a-a-ake me up when it's my wa-a-a-atch."

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Feel free to try to jury rig something if you want. Just tell me what and i will have you roll for it.

In the morning, you first have some breakfast and then Kalina leads the group towards the Oad. After about five hours skirting the forest to the south you finally make your way to the Oad where you get your bearings and start to move north towards home.

GM Rolls

Spoiler:
1d100 ⇒ 53

You set up another camp for the night on the Oad.

Anyone, still wants to heal? Figure out artifacts... this time you can do four.

Male Mutant Sentient Animal Examiner 1 | HP 27/46

Is there any natural healing that happens overnight?

Also, the forest we just left... is it the "Forest of Knowledge" at the bottom of the map? I can see a tiny arrow by the road.

When morning comes, Ba-a-a-arnabas takes another couple hours to meditate.

Using 2 hours of Total Healing again for 12 HP, unless the party is in a rush.

After he is done, he browses on some of the greenery in the area.

"Now that we seem to be out of da-a-a-a-nger," Ba-a-a-arnabas addresses the rest of the group, "I should ask, where are you headed?"

"I wa-as sent ba-a-a-y my town to try and discover wha-a-a-y our local crops are failing. I a-a-am on a quest. Though fra-a-a-ankly, I have no idea where to look. I'm not a fa-a-a-armer."

Shot Putter Funkmeister

I am not a big fan of characters being bedridden which it says you only heal 1 hp for a whole day of rest. I am permiting 1hp plus your CN modifier. I thought I moved the arrow further before work today. Yes you were in the Forest of Knowledge, if you do stop for another healing bout that is fine.

Male Mutant Sentient Animal Examiner 1 | HP 27/46

Okay, my CN is +1, so I am adding 2 HP now.

When there is time, Ba-a-a-arnabas look over some of the other things.

Might as well just go from the top of the list.

Brass Hornlike Thing: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Colored Cube: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Tripod with Motor: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Big Glass-topped thing with Train Tracks: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

If you need me to make any rerolls:
Reroll #1: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Reroll #2: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Reroll #3: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Reroll #4: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Brass hornlike thing... you pick it up pull on its little handle and put your mouth on the thing and see that it is a special horn that changes its pitch when you slide the handle forward and back You found a trombone

Colored cube... you twist here and fro and decipher that it is a puzzle cube game where you should match all of the colors into one side.

The tripod has two large wheels that spin and one you flip the switch on you decide to put a rock in there and it flings the rock forward at a very fast speed upwards of 60 km/hour. Baseball pitching machine

Big glass thingy... you seem to not be making any progress with it.

Shot Putter Funkmeister

You make a shelter for the evening on the Oad. You retain your shifts from the night before.

You have a dream during the night of a fallen tree that points your way to La Prix. You don't know why but you feel compelled to go their.

Sparky

Maeve slowly stirred the coals as they finished their breakfast, I had an unusual dream last night. A tree looked at me as it gave its dying breath and fell, one limb outstretched towards La Prix. It sounds crazy, but when I went to sleep I was thinking most of where to go about the troubles our villages are having.

Maeve looks to Abney, how did your dream go?

Shot Putter Funkmeister

I gather you make your way north

GM Rolls
1d100 ⇒ 100 1d12 ⇒ 7

You make your way north for an hour and then you hear from a distance a call at you saying "You have crossed my sacred land you hand me over something ancient or face my wrath."

What you see seems to be the distorted descendent
of the North American moose. Its appearance is still
moose-like as it still possesses short brown fur and large
branching antlers. These bony and sturdy antlers grows
over a meter in height and are used as deadly weapons by
these mutants. A startling development in these mutants was their change from hooven front feet to leathery human-like hands, in which sits a very strange weapon from the ancients.

Shot Putter Funkmeister

What do you guys want to do?

Kalina's grip on her spear tightens. She has no ancient items to give over (though she would not be opposed to giving them if she did).

Sparky

Really? Not even a hello? Maeve takes a step to the side as she turns to the rest of her group. Any of you see a sign that said sacred land? Toll ahead?

Maeve turns back and puts one hand on her hip as she looks the moose up and down, What happened to general hospitality? You're not going to violate the SSCC are you?

I show we have had two days healing, so I am at 27/49

Male Human Bard 5 flame dancer 46 hp max, F 3, R 5, W 5 AC 19

Adney considers the little cube of multiple colors and whispers to Maeve that if they had to trade something for passage that wouldnt be bad.

Adney de Montchele wrote:

"Yes, the cube is one. It is just a puzzle game. I would have preferred to solve it before giving it up, but that is just idle amusement."

"These other things," Ba-a-a-arnabas indicates the electric shaver and the credit card reader, "Are not especially important either. All artifacts have a certain value on the market, but these ones don't have much practical use for us. I wouldn't want to give up the others until we figure out what they do."

"Perhaps if we give this man his wish, he will help us locate the factory where the robot chickens are built."

Shot Putter Funkmeister

The moose says, "I will take your puzzle cube for your safe passage through my lands, I am a Maali and my kind are very particular about our grazing space."

Spoiler:
You have a pretty good feeling fighting this Maali, would be a horrendous idea and that ancient weapon alone is extremely lethal.

"We appreciate your safe passage. How large are your lands?"

"Oh, and have you ever seen a factory called 'La Prix'? We are seeking such a place. We believe that Robot Chickens are built there, or were once."

Shot Putter Funkmeister

The Maali says, "Sheepman, my lands stretch some 15 acres. Robot chickens... That is macabre, I must say, La Prix... there might could have been a sign about 2 hours north. For the two legs.... 6 hours north. One can find it methinks."

He then starts walking away playing with his new toy.

Male Human Bard 5 flame dancer 46 hp max, F 3, R 5, W 5 AC 19

Adney will start navigating the group north following the directions given.

Shot Putter Funkmeister

The group starts moving further north on the OAd and after 8 hours, to be fair the Maali, was only guesstimating being a much taller organism that can stand on two feet but travels mostly on all fours. Having headed up The Great Oad past the hilly section, the
characters notice just ahead a fallen tree that apparently was
struck by lightning. Oddly enough its trunk seems to be
pointing to the west-northwest. This huge burnt tree lies
completely across The Oad.

Adney, Maeve and Deyemi have a strong pull to go in the direction of the tree.

Sparky

It must be a sign from the great ones, I feel we need to go that way.

Maeve starts pulling her travois off the Oad towards the hills.

Shot Putter Funkmeister

You move in the direction that Maeve guides you in a north-westerly manner.

GM Rolls

Spoiler:

Use Artifacts: Distorted Mirror: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Use Artifacts: Reroll (if necessary): 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Use Artifacts: Reroll (if necessary): 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

For the parts I mainly want to figure out what they can be used for.

Shot Putter Funkmeister

The very large item, you are able to discern a metal ball inside, that seems to want to go up and down a spring.

You look into the mirror and you discern that the mirror is designed to obfuscate the image in front of it.

The small parts look useful to possibly fixing some gear that you have found.

Sparky

GW isn't one for downtime growth, are you planing on making adjustments to this?

Maeve sits down next to Ba, ooh, what's this do?

She reaches over and pushes on something.

use artifacts: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

Shot Putter Funkmeister

You can use jerry rig to fix items or such but the absurd amounts of time people waste on crafting in PF, there isn't any. Plus I like the adventure keeping going. :) Use artifacts is a d10 roll but its cool.

Woosh! comes the large tracked machine to life, making a strange music... going dodedanannnaaaroooo!
