@Flynt - "Well, we've got lots of fine ware here, sir! Gear for camping, mining and exploring, good sturdy clothing, and foodstuffs for traveling, like jerky and hardtack."

@Kistle - Kistle makes his way around town and notices a very pleasant aroma coming from one of the nearby shops. He walks into Breads and Cakes, the local bakery. A smiling human woman behind the counter greets him warmly.

"Hello there, friend. Are you part of the group that explored the old Witch Tower? Have a fresh sweet roll on the house." She offers kistle a large roll dripping with frosting and covered in nuts and raisins.

”I thought Shelyn might have guided me here to mend Lady Origena Devy’s ailing heart but I see now there’s more going on. Maybe I’m meant for both”, the big man says with a smirk.

The man gives the paladin a grin and says:

"Well, good luck with that. The baroness follows Abadar, you're likelier to win her over with money than with charm."

"You seem like a nice enough guy, so I'll tell you a bit of news I heard around town lately. Out in the fens there's an old monastery. Been abandoned for years. I heard that they didn't just disappear or leave the place - they went into the Dragonfen itself and died in some kinds of weird ritual, and now haunt the swamp!"

Kistle:

While the gnome eagerly chews on the sweet roll, the shopkeeper says:

"The Baroness is sending you into the old quarry eh? News travels fast, but don't worry about us! Just be careful if you go wandering out in the hills. The a bunch of old mine shafts and caves out there, and a lot of them are infested with ghosts and suchlike, or so I hear!"

Tanith furrows his brow at the information. "Monk in the swamp eh? Well I don't think myself or my companions are planning on heading out there anytime soon but I'll keep that in mind. Thank you."

Happy to have shared a moment with a member of his faith, the big ulfen shifts his weight and prepares to leave. "I should be going. My companions are waiting for me. Keep us in your prayers and ask Shelyn to show me the way in the trials to come."

The man says farewell, and Tanith leaves to rejoin his party. The group gathers at the bridge on the east side of town. From there, they follow the map to the old quarry. It's actually quite close. It's only about a quarter of a mile after the team loses sight of the Hunclay and Devy manor houses that they come upon the site.

A fifty-foot-wide strip of shore stretches between the edge of a small lake and the forty-foot-high quarry wall. It’s strewn with stony debris — the result of centuries of rockslides. Several larger boulders stand against the middle of the quarry wall. The group can just make out two openings in the rock wall straight ahead to the east.

The kobold Flynt wounded turns tail and flees! The rest decide to attack, however. A pack of three move in on Flynt and surround him, while the other tries to avnege its comrade against Njail.

I'm going to allow a re-roll on one of those channels Njail. Take my 5 instead. I've seen some GM's re-roll all ones on healing spells, but I want to keep it to occasional usage. Two ones, though - I had to throw you a bone.
