Acrobatics is something Xavian can do. Looks like he can go dance on the keyboard. He does not have Perform though.
Ok, what keys do I step on? I don't know any hymns.
OK, so if I roll, what do I roll first?

GM Derek W |

As Belvica enters, she can see six Black Echelon operatives - two standing on the keys and four blocking various pipes from the top.
Initiative:
Contilo: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Loram: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Xavian: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Insnare: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Mandorin: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Telurion: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Black Echelon: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Round One: Contilo, Insnare, Loram, Telurion, Mandorin, monsters, Xavian.

![]() |

Xavian move up the center aisle at maximum movement and will also take aim at the monster that are on the right side of the keyboard.
Bow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

![]() |

Mandorin will run to the far right side to the second to last pew up the right aisle.
He will move x4 speed all the way to the right, then up to the 6th pew from the bottom.

![]() |

Telurion immediately heads to the closest creature, shouting to the others - "The ones with ranged weapons, target our foes up top!"
Telurion is actually quite an acrobat for someone wearing a breastplate, so he will try to play three white keys on the way to his attack -> DC5+2+2+2=11 correct?
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Knowledge (Religion): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
How was that tune when last I was in church...? It was so long ago...
Now he will try to make something decent sound from the keys he pressed - VERY doubtful :D
Perform (Keyboard): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17
Amazingly, as Telurion heads towards the creature with his sword drawn, his mind races through some familiar religious tunes, and with surprisingly nimble movements, he actually draws some of the notes that make up that particular hymn - "Ah! If my combat instructor could see me now, he wouldn't recognize me!" - he roars with a laugh.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
And he wouldn't believe how you are better at hopping around than hitting your enemies... FOCUS Telurion! - the huge man ponders to himself, the smile now gone from his face.

GM Derek W |

Contilo, Insnare, and Xavian concentrate their fire on the creature to the right side of the keyboard, but their arrows do it no harm. Mandorin moves in around the right side while Telurion rushes up the middle. He mounts the keyboard and plays a few notes from an old hymn.
Telurion, you can't make it there this turn and still attack, so I'll hold that part of your action until the next turn. You'll still hit, btw ;)

![]() |

The wizard rubs his chin for a moment, then announces, I have a way to play the keys!
Loram then rushes toward the organ, drawing a string from his pocket, around which is tied a small piece of wood.
Intention here is to have an unseen servant try to play the keys. Since I can only control it within 25 feet, Loram will move just close enough to allow the servant to play the keys.
Correct me if I am wrong, but he should be able to attempt to play three keys a round, since the servant can only do something that requires up to a DC9 skill check. Does this make sense? If not, I will just shoot some bolts or acid orbs at some things.

GM Derek W |

Yes, three keys per round gives you a DC 9. That's more than enough to delay the attack signal. Do the unseen servant need to roll? I've never dealt with this one.
Loram gestures with the string and wood, and three of the organ's keys depress in turn. The sound is not especially harmonious, but keeps the music flowing.
The two creatures standing on the keys move in on either side of Telurion and swing their sickles at him!
Creature 1 attack: 1d20 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (10) - 1 + 2 = 11
Creature 2 attack: 1d20 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (10) - 1 + 2 = 11
Both swings are hurried and weak, clanking harmlessly off Telurion's armor.
Suddenly, doors on the East sid eof the cathedral burst open and three more Black Echelon operatives rush into the room!
Round One is over.
Round Two:
Contilo, Insnare, Loram, Telurion, Mandorin, Xavian, monsters.
New map will be up as soon as I can make one (3-6 hours).

![]() |

The Professor continues to fiddle with his string and stick. Keep it up, maestro!
perform(keyboard): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
I believe the servant should be able to keep playing, as it "repeats the same activity over and over again if told to do so as long as you remain within range," so I will start shooting in Round 3.

![]() |

Xavian will heed the advice he was given and fire at the operative still on the keyboard.
Bow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
I will then take maximun movement to go west, away from the new operatives coming from the east. I'll try to give a better sense of where I go when the map is up.
Keep that tune going, we'll take out these things!

GM Derek W |

I'm ok with that, Loram. Just remember that the group's first three bowshots hit, but didn't seem to faze these guys at all.
Telurion smashes the creature to his right with a mighty blow! Xavian's shot strikes a creature, but the extreme distance causes it to bounce harmlessly off him. Belvica shoots, but her arrow flies wide of its target.
Loram's unseen friend keeps banging out notes on the keys.
To go:
Contilo, Mandorin, monsters.
I went a bit out of turn to keep things moving along, you all still get to act first.

![]() |

Contilo runs up behind Loram and shoots his ray of frost and the enemy to the right of Telurion
range touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1
DC 14 of be slowed

![]() |

Mandorin will cautiously move forward 15 feet and strongly attack the closest Black Echelon fighter.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 212d6 + 9 ⇒ (2, 3) + 9 = 14

GM Derek W |

Contilo's ray hits the creature!
Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
It is slowed.
Mandorin's attack is a great success! He steps up, and swings his blade in a mighty arc, crsahing through the operative and slaying it.
The slowed Black Echelon warrior still tries to hit Telurion.
Attack: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (11) - 2 = 9
And it fails badly.
The two warriors near Mandorin step towards him and strike!
Attack 1: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16
Attack 2: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 = 11
Damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
The first blow hits, but only scrapes Mandorin's arm, barely drawing blood.
Two operatives (on the ends) begin to climb down the pipes of the organ.
Round Two is over.
New map after work and dinner!
The order: Contilo, Insnare, Loram, Telurion, Mandorin, Xavian, monsters

![]() |

Xavian will move west then north along the walls for his maximum movement and then fire another arrow toward the enemy on the left side of the keyboard. In his rush to move forward the arrow fails to find its mark.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

![]() |

Contilo tries to finish off the same operative, shooting another ray of frost!
Contilo screams in a high pitched voice again quuuuaaak!
range touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1
Again DC 14 or slowed.

![]() |

Without much room to move, Telurion risks only stepping on the key next to him and the next one, trying to produce some sort of harmonic sound.
Acrobatics DC7? (2 keys=5+2): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Perform: 1d20 ⇒ 8
The sound produced is not particularly harmonic though...
While he tip taps around, he launches another attack at his opponent - "How about this huh? Ever faced a multitasking lad like me you darned thing?! Don't you have nothing to say!"
Longsword Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

![]() |

I assume these things are undead, and thus require KN(religion) to identify? If so, did Telurion learn anything? I have Kn(arcana): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 and Kn(planes): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28, but I assume those are not applicable.
While his unseen servant plays a simple, bludgeoning "tune," the Professor tries flinging a blob of acid at one of the remaining Black Echelon warriors (I'll go for the one facing Telurion if it is not already out of commission).
ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2

GM Derek W |

Contilo's second ray misses the mark. Insnare's arrow flies wide as she grabs her axe and rushes over to Mandorin. Loram's attack hits the fiend, but burns it only slightly. Telurion's mighty swing finishes it off. Mandorin's blow fells another creature. Xavian's shot is also a miss.
Knowledge religion applies, but unfortunately all you can tell is that they are undead.
The remaining monster by Mandorin tries an attack.
Attack: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12
The strike misses.
The two operatives that had been climbing down finish making their way onto the keyboard, and the remaining two begin to descend.
Round is over. Four baddies down, five to go!
The order: Contilo, Insnare, Loram, Telurion, Mandorin, Xavian, black echelon

![]() |

Xavian fires at the same creature and then moves his maximun up toward the keyboard.
Bow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
Bow Crit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Damage: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6

Insnare |

Belvica charges with her waraxe 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 4 + 2 = 16 at the closest enemy to Belvica on Mandorin, if hit 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 with an extremely violent overhead swing that makes a swoosh noise while chopping air before chopping the enemy.
Mayz de lioness great youz varmly

![]() |

This is assuming Insnare kills the last remaining guy near him, if not the case he will just attack the closest without charge.
Mandorin will charge the closest enemy on the keys and attack.
Charge: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 2 = 272d6 + 9 ⇒ (1, 6) + 9 = 16
Take 2 away if I can't charge
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 2 = 222d6 + 9 ⇒ (3, 3) + 9 = 15

![]() |

Contilo realizing that he is not doing much in the way of killing these things runs to the keyboard and hops up.
lets see if i can do some dancing!
arcrobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
[ooc] if he can reach, if not he will move forward his full 20 ft. and shoot another ray of frost at the operative to the extreme left.
Ray of Frost: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2
DC 14 or be slowed.

GM Derek W |

The group's efforts are splendid. Contilo, Loram, and Xavian all strike the leftmost Black Echelon warrior, finishing him off with Xavian's shot. Belvica's charge strikes down the creature near Mandorin, allowing him to charge and utterly destroy the recently descended operatvie on the right side of the keyboard. The last two warriors begin the descent on either side of Telurion. He readies his sword to strike the first one to get within reach.
I'm GMing my first table game tonight! I will not be able to update here until tomorrow, since I will need to prep during breaks at work. Go ahead and post your actions for this round, and I'll sort it out in the morning. Thanks guys for being patient with me while I learn the system!

![]() |

Xavian will step forward his maximum movement and then fire another arrow at the creature on the left. In his haste, the halfling's shot goes high and left, clanking against one of the pipes.
Bow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

![]() |

Loram hollers at Telurion, They're on both sides of you! and carefully points his right index finger at the operative behind Telurion.
acid orb!: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
splash!: 1d3 ⇒ 3
Hmm...I hope that didn't burn the organ too much.

Insnare |

Man this reminds me of sidearm training,
Belvica carries the axe in her right hand and throws a dagger at the nearest foe atop the organ with her left(southpaw up in this) 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
The transition not as smooth as she would have liked and the dagger blade slams 4 inches deep into the oak of the altar.
Hyena's earzzzz!!!!!!!!!!
She moves to the foot of the organ.

![]() |

Telurion continues to try and balance himself over the keys, while attacking the creatures.
"How many of you are there anyway?!" - he shouts.
(Continues trying to hit 2 keys each time)
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Perform: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Crit Confirmation: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

GM Derek W |

All the party's ranged attacks miss the mark, leaving scars on the sides of the organ. The final two operatives near the bottom of the pipes, and Telurion forcefully slashes one to ribbons.
A bit of GMPC here to conclude the encounter
Mandorin steps forward as the final Black Echelon warrior hits the keys, and brings his sword around in a mighty arc.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 4) + 6 = 15
I didn't roll the crit becasue, well, you obliterated it anyway.
The final creature vanishes in a flash as Mandorin's heavy strike rends it.
The door on the West side of the Cathedral opens, and a woman in vestments of Abadar walks out timidly.
"Are they destroyed? They came so fast! We were powerless to stop them. My friends..." She begins to cry "were not so lucky. Still, it must be the will of Abadar that I was preserved. My name is Mayltiha Coincounter. An initiate here."

![]() |

Yes, I believe the immediate threat has ended. I'm not so sure about who's will does what but we are glad to see you are unharmed. Xavian turns to their guide in this adventure and asks, Do you know this woman? Do we need to continue with the organ? What is our next move?

GM Derek W |

Yargos speaks with Maylitha for a moment:
"It is vital that we keep the hymn playing. Do you know the appropirate music?"
She replies: "Yes, sir. Although I am new to the order, I have been well trained in operating the organ and I can do it without assistance for now."
Yargos turns to the group: "Then let us make haste to stop Nessian and his foul plot!"

![]() |

Alright then, where to? I assume the operatives left nothing behind?
Do I sense anything to be amiss with the woman or the surroundings? Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

![]() |

"Ok so... If I remember correctly, Nessian lairs in a new base of operations nicknamed the Pyramid of the Dog which he has carved out of a ruin of a half-collapsed siege tower, just outside of Absalom, so this is where we should be heading without any further delay"
Knowledge (Local): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21 -> Trying to ascertain where such place could be located
"But before we go" - the huge man turns to the group - "This is something I have come across during my travels, and decided to keep since I am constantly taking hits to the gut, having thus become a fan of that most precious magical healing" - he smiles as he draws out a thin wand - "I have been told it is able to mend smaller wounds very well - does any of you know how to activate it? I could use some of these zaps if I am taking a beating, as well as the others"
And there it is, the fighter that carries around his own CLW wand :D

GM Derek W |

Feel free to RP anything relevant on the way.
The group apporaches the old seige tower. It isn't really a pyramid, but rather a series of three small towers that collpsed and are leaning against a fourth, larger tower in the center.
The group approaches from the southeast, using a large boulder as cover. In the center there is a large dog tied to a pole. On top of each collapsed tower is a maekshift watch platform with an armed guard (bow). You have not been seen yet.
