Olik Vogenson
|
Looking at the bones Olik wryly comments, "Inviting place huh? Hold here a moment while I try something. Be ready."
Olik chants slowly and points at one of the skulls in the bone pile. Slowly it rises up about two feet and then drops back onto the pile.
Mage Hand a skull to see if the movement wakes anything up in the pile or sets anything in motion.

Salador readies to throw a bomb at anything that moves
Olik if something moves I am going to bomb it just fiving fair warning.

Olik tries to lift a skull from the pile but it doesn't appear to move as it is still attached to a skeletal body. After giving up on the one he tries the same with a different one, succeeding this time.
Malik Jiri
|
Malik cringes as the others begin their assault on the Ghoul, and he barely manages to get his Crossbow up and ready, stumbling backwards, before the deed is done. He sighs and steps back up to the now inert corpse, holding a simple medallion of a long-tailed bird. "Sleep in beauty and peace." he whispers.
Looking to the others, his expression is devoid of mirth in this moment. "Sadly my intent was not clear enough. I had hoped to convince her to make herself vulnerable for a cure from a holy man, while you all inflicted the merciful blow. I hope this more violent death will not further trouble her spirit." he says. He makes the effort to search the woman's body and drag it into the tunnel somewhat so that it is out of sight of the buzzards that wheel in the desert sky.
Anything useful in her gear? Any identifying items we can take back to the Lodge?
As the group makes its way down into the dark, Malik keeps his crossbow at the ready. He seems to have no difficulty navigating in the dark, either.
Tamarie Yangrit

Tam will break out a sunrod, and attach it to her belt.
She will walk forward, listening intently, bow at the ready.

Be my pleasure.

Salador tosses a bomb at the pile of bones and it explodes tossing shards of bone all over. There is nothing left but charred bone and a small crater.
Tessara Omelion PFS

Tess stood at the back of the group, in the rear of the marching order. She followed quietly as the others inspected the room of bones. She decided she would be the one who kep up the search for magic while the others protected them from any creatures.
While we are in here, Tess will keep Detect Magic up the whole time.
Olik Vogenson
|
Chuckling at the rangers enthusiasm Olik dutifully keeps moving forward.
"Let's keep moving East. If the map is right that should take us to the haunted well. From there we can head South and attack the kobold area from the North. If Desna smiles on us their defenses will be more focused on the front entrance or, if they heard the blast, will be moving up the Western side of the fortress to investigate."
Tessara Omelion PFS
|
Tess follows the others. [b]"Be careful, Tam,"[/s] she calls, as her niece goes flying to face any threats...as usual.
Jirani Kafr Abdu
|
"The kobolds should be directly to the east. Tam, you want to sneak up to the next corner, and I'll bring the light up behind you."
Figuring her low-light vision will let her stay up to 30'-35' ahead, scouting, and still see a good distance ahead of her.
Olik Vogenson
|
Oops had my arrows mixed up, Jirani is correct based on the info we had. Watch for traps.
Olik watches Tamarie fade into the gloom confident in her abilities but still concerned for his companion. He steps to Jiranis side to give himself a clear path forward in case Tam gets in trouble.
| GM Dak |
Enterring in through the tunnel, cracked and crumbling frescos line the walls of this large empty room. The sections of the frescos not destroyed by the passing ages show Qadiran men engaged in battle. There is a passage that leads South, Southeast, and East.
As Tam moves to the east there is a passage leading north and this crossroads of stairs has one dominant feature: a crumbled statue in the southeast corner, once the image of a proud warrior chiseled roughly in granite. The statue’s helmeted head now rests on the floor, its lifeless stone eyes gazing toward the south. On the helmet, a single Kelish word is carved in the stone. The wide stairway to the north leads to a passage that ends in a cave-in ten feet past the foot of the stairs.
Tessara Omelion PFS
|
"Hold on, Olik. Let me up to the front so I can get a good look at things..." Tess fights her way to the front and stares intently at the passage, seeing if anything stood out to her.
Jirani Kafr Abdu
|
Jirani follows Tam up to the crossroads, taking cover behind the wall.
Why does Tam have a sunrod? Don't you want to stealth? She should be able to see 40 ft ahead of Jirani like normal light. (I was thinking she would be able to see even further, but I guess you don't double the 'increased' column, as well.)
Olik Vogenson
|
Olik looks to Tess waiting to see if she senses magic on the helmet.
If there's not magic on it Olik will take a closer look at it. If there is he'll let Tess focus on it a bit before investigating.
Tessara Omelion PFS
|
Tess is looking for magic in the helmet or statue, DM.
Tessara Omelion PFS
|
Tess informs the others. "Something about that statue is magic. That word is glowing bright blue. It might be a warning, an activation word, or something similar. Be careful with it."
Jirani Kafr Abdu
|
Pretty sure it's part of the sculpture's head. That's why Jirani's been ignoring Tam's idea. That, and there didn't seem to be any reason in-character to think that putting the statue back together was going to have any effect. On anything. If Tess's suggestion that the magic word might be an activation word doesn't pan out, then we can start restoring these ruins to see if it helps us defeat the kobolds in the other room.
Olik Vogenson
|
Considering the statues broken head Olik says,
"Any idea of what kind of magic Tess?"
"I could use a scroll that would let me read the writing but wouldn't help in speaking the word. That is if we even want to read it. I've heard that some words of magic can be left as traps to the curious."
Jirani Kafr Abdu
|
Jirani shrugs. "Always meant to learn Kelish. Either I'm butchering the pronunciation, or the statue needs to be intact, or it's not a command word. Regardless, I think we should deal with the kobolds and their leader first."
Tessara Omelion PFS
|
"I agree with Jiri. Why waste our time on this, when something bad could happen if we do reattach the head? It could come to life and ally with the kobolds, for all we know."
Salador Gorgan
|
Salador seems to be talking to himself in a calming nature.
there are other rooms and light so no worries ... no worries
His breathing is normal and he doesn't seem tense.
yes let us move on
Tamarie Yangrit
|
"Sneaking is not exactly easy, when there is noise behind me. Let me just be some 10 feet ahead of you, and I'll be fine. If you hear the bow string, it's a good time to charge forward!"
Tamarie will continue east, down the stairs, bow at the ready.
