Salvia Hardheart
Salvia, it doesn't look like you're using the dice roller. the code isn't showing up right. Do you know how?
I've been rolling my own dice when at home and my iPhone "Dice Bag" app if I'm at work. I didn't realize there was a dice roller for the game. Sorry!! How do I access it?
Ragnarok Fimbulwinter
Ragnarok steps back so Salvia can do her work. He starts to explain why he doesn't want the mace, but Ulfgard's explanation seems to satisfy him.
Actually Druids aren't proficient with maces. But clubs are OK. Go figure.
Ryksa the White
Sorry, bugged out of town for the weekend, just got back. Yikes, lots of posts...
Ryksa travels with her companions, and as Salvia works, she keeps scanning around. Then as she finishes she coughs a little. "Salvia, before you open it, may I take a look? I don't doubt your ability, just want to check something first."
Ryksa the White
Approaching the chest, Ryksa kneels near it. Sighing, knowing this would probably give her away as a caster, she begins to cant Detect Magic on it. "Let's see if you hold any nasty secrets..." She meditates on it for about half a minute (three rounds)

Ryksa detects nothing magical. Salvia manages to diable the trap to find an empty chest. However, underneath the chest, you find the following:
5 sets of leather armor
3 sets of studded leather armor
1 masterwork chain shirt
2 light wooden shields
7 longswords
2 spears
1 masterwork dagger
3 light crossbows
25 bolts
I just told you because the perception DC is low and someone would make it.
Grandma Mable
"Oh my what a lovely dagger you have there. I think that would look very nice on my belt! Oh unless someone else can use it more of course!" Grandma says as she admires the dagger.
Grandma Mable
Grandma looks at Salvia and holds out the dagger.
"Dear I think you could make better use of this dagger than me. Now if you had an extra dagger I could use that. I don't need a special one, just something small to carry is all I need."
Grandma Mable thinks about it for a moment
You know now that I think about it, I suppose a range weapon might be a good thing for me to have. If no one objects I believe I will take this crossbow instead."
Grandma Mable
Grandma looks around at her new found friends. "Well shall we move on?"
Salvia Hardheart
"Thanks, Grandma. Here, take my old dagger...ain't special, but it's sharp. Everyone should have a dagger. As Salvia dons her new chain shirt, she says, "Ulfgard, would you mind carrying my old chain shirt til we get back to town? We should be able to get 50g or so for it, but I don't have any more room in my backpack.

The group tracks the bandits for a while, but the falling snow makes that job harder by the minute. Before too long, the trail is gone.
You do manage to unearth a natural game trail though. It leads along the same path the footprints were heading.
After traveling for some time, the snow becomes increasingly deep in this part of the forest, where a windswept gully carves a path through a tree-covered ridge. A soft cascade of snow falls from an overhead branch, hissing softly as it strikes the ground.
The map has been updated. This light blue is the path and it's normal movement. The darker tiles are snow drifts and 1 tile costs 4 when moving. A square with a tree costs 2 squares and you take penalties for squeezing.
Perception checks please.
Ragnarok Fimbulwinter
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Ragnarok curses as the footprints disappear. "The snow's gotten too deep for me to pick up on a trail, but I think they just continued on down this game trail."
Grandma Mable
"Dearly maybe if you took a more careful look you might be able to pick up the trail again"
Maybe you can take 20 to find the trail again
"Thank you Salvia. I do appreciate the dagger"
Grandma Mable
Sorry
Grandma Mable appears to be enjoying the walk.
"its so nice to get outside and enjoy the fresh air dont you think?"
Ulfgard Strongarm
Ulfgard turns around and looks at grandma Mable"Lass, I am freezing the tips of my beard off! Ain´t the one to enjoy cold, wise I wuddn´t work inna smithy!" Ulfgard is softening his reprimand with a quick smile.

Suddenly, snow and pine needles explode out toward Ryksa followed by a large reptile, as white as the surrounding drifts and at least six feet in length. It has a dragon’s head filled with sharp teeth, and two arms ending in grasping claws. A cloud of greenish vapor wafts from its gaping maw.
It attacks Ryksa like a thing half-starved!
Bite 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 plus grab 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
The gnashing jaws close over Ryksa left shoulder from neck to belly button, pinning her arm. The creature shows no sign of letting go.
Ryksa has 1 hp left. If looking at the map, the thing is directly up from Ryksa's token. Sorry this computer won't support the map. I'll update it when I get home.
Grandma Mable
Grandma Mable quickly looks around and realizes she has no where to move so she removed the bueatiful cozy from her spear and attempts to strike the creature
I will be using power attack with furious focus so no minus
spear: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
I am not even going to roll the damage for this one
Ragnarok Fimbulwinter
Ragnarok once again grows and he steps forward so he can swing his greatsword over Ulfgard's head. "Let her Go!" he yells.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Oooh, Crit threat!
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
damage assuming this is a crit: 6d6 + 12 ⇒ (6, 1, 1, 2, 5, 1) + 12 = 28
He yells in triumph as his blade bites deep into the creature.
Ragnarok Fimbulwinter
His spurt of growth is only momentary. As he shrinks he tries to pry the jaws of the beast off Ryksa's shoulder. He apologizes. "I don't have any healing magic left. Maybe we should rub some snow in it."
At which point you can be certain that Ragnarok has no ranks in Heal :)
He then pauses to examine the creature.
K/Nature: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Sciath Nalis
with a low growl of annoyance Sciath lays his hand on Ryksa's forehead.
"Ragathiel grant you strength to fight for our cause."
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
"Don't make me regret this." he growls warningly in her ear.
Ragnarok Fimbulwinter
Ragnarok shrugs, deciding It's some kind of big lizard. He returns Ulfgard's high five with a smile then he notices the dwarf's unhappy visage. "I can only make people large for a few minutes once a day. So I'll need to sleep before I can do it again." he explains.
Grandma Mable
Grandma Mable reaches out to heal Ryksa but Sciath heals her first.
"Sciath you are a good man and we are lucky to have you along. Thanks for taking care of Ryksa."
Grandma looks at the strange creature.
"I have never seen anything like that before. Does anyone know what it is?"she asks
