Sciath's family fled the north of Irresen while he was boy, having raised the ire of the Witches, Sciath never knew the details, but they caught his family, but not before they managed to hide Sciath. He spent the rest of his young life learning ways to kill them.
He has lived in Heldren for a few years, trying to raise interest in heading North to fight the Witches, but in the meanwhile working as a hunter.
Sciath's short term goal is to kill Witches, he knows he can't kill them all, but each one he slays will bring him satisfaction.
His long term goal is to know why the witches hunted down his family.
For all his rage and his sense of purpose, Sciath fears dying without reason. In the cold north death is a slip on the ice away, and he is terrified that he'll die without achieving anything.
The only person that Sciath has any real care for is his mentor, Bearn, an aging Inquisitor who taught him the basics of divine casting and fighting magic users.
