Kobolds, really, stupid kobolds mutters Chandu.
Chandu draws on her Thassilonian Knowledge boon to add 1d4 to a knowledge check. She takes 10 on Nature for 17 + 1d4 ⇒ 17 + (1) = 18
Hello, she calls out to the dryad. We are not with these miserable kobolds I assure you. I don't suppose you speak common, or elven, or draconic? she asks as she switches between languages.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (9) + 19 = 28
Anyway, lovely to meet you, never met a dryad before. Let us deal with these pests and then perhaps we can have a proper chat?
In draconic she begins to sing a song of gnomish victories over kobolds.

The party moves ahead, except for Chandu who begins to inspire her allies. She also speaks to the dryad and inspires her to help. Watching the kobolds advance and yap, she confuses the leader.
Confusion: 1d100 ⇒ 80 Attack Nearest foe!
The kobold leader yaps at his two kobolds.
You see a blast of lightning streak forward and hit the two kobolds!
Lightning Damage: 5d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 3, 3, 6) = 18
Reflex Blue: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Reflex Green: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
The two kobolds leap to the side as lightning fries them. They scream at the leader, who then apologizes. The dryad giggles, clearly amused.
They struggle onto the clearing and the green creature readies the rapier for an approach.

Far from the enemies Chandu considers her options. Best not give that caster chance to keep lightning bolting people, even if he is targeting his own side.
She raises her hands as she moves, muttering as she goes. As she completes her spell a 10' tall wall of solid ice springs up around the kobold spellcaster.
Chandu moves forward 15' in difficult terrain and casts silent image to create the appearance of an ice wall surrounding the casting kobold. If he interacts with it he gets a DC13 will save to disbelieve but that generally takes at least a move action. Chandu maintains bardic performance and activates arcane strike just in case.

The kobold wields its rapier as it faces down Brak and Will. It takes a defensive position and decides to lunge at the hopefully squishier Will.
Even is Brak: 1d2 ⇒ 1
Rapier, Combat Expertise: 1d20 + 11 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 11 - 1 = 16

"It's a wonder your species lasts at all!" Brak's smile is genuine, and it's a stark contrast to the work his axe does. He cuts a low and horizontal arc on both the foreswing and the backswing:
Power Attack, Bardic
ATK: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 12 + 2 = 27 for DMG: 1d12 + 17 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 17 + 2 = 27

While the species may be lasting, this kobold's life is at an end. With the wounds it sustained from the lightning bolt, Brak's axe is enough to finish it off.
Chandu stops focusing, and the icy wall melts away to reveal a surprised kobold. She turns to the dryad and entreats her for help. She smiles and nods.

The kobold is dead, Will. I'll just take your action as "attack nearest enemy."
The icy pond around the kobold becomes stable as the the dryad waves her hands. Icy footholds appear nearby, granting stability and easy footholds.
You are no longer moving on difficult terrain. I've highlighted the tiles in a dark gray.
Will takes advantage of this to quickly move across the ice and impale the remaining kobold on his rapier.
The kobold looks back with a bit of shock and tries to back away from Will while on the ice, leaving himself wide open to attack!
Rapier Attack: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 9 + 2 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 2 = 5
Will's rapier bounces off of the kobold's armor. Another sheet of lightning courses forth through Will and Ibaz!

Thanks to the shift in terrain, Will is able to dance his way around the battle and come at the kobold from the other side.
Rapier attack, flank, inspired: 1d20 + 9 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 9 + 2 + 2 = 29

The kobold runs away as fast as it can, provoking multiple attacks of opportunity!
Brak gets one, Will gets one, Syrak gets one.
It then tries to cast a spell and maintain its defenses.
Concentration, DC 19: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Assuming it survived, a pit appears below Syrak and Ibaz, 30 feet deep. They only have a moment to leap to safety!

And with his lunge, Will ends the life of the final kobold.
Combat Over. I'll roll Ibaz's Reflex Save.
Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Ibaz leaps away from the pit.
Ibaz has taken 10 damage total.
"Thank you for your help." The dyrad bows to you. "My name is Enzial, and these kobolds have been harvesting wood and animals at a dangerously high rate. Ever since the white dragons hatched new wyrmlings, the kobolds have hunted in earnest. We haven't seen dragons until maybe the last century."
Is there anything you want to tell Enzial?

"Videlis... I have not heard of that name before." The dryad shakes her leaves. "I can bring you to the Court to speak to the stewards of this region: Vallahk and Quiselle. You could ask for their help but I must warn you, it is difficult to convince them of anything."
"Otherwise you may want to follow the kobolds back to their lair. They have dragged many reindeer carcasses and left lots of tracks."
You have 2 potential routes to take here.
While observing the reindeer tracks, you notice a shortcut. The kobolds must have taken a longer route while dragging the large corpses around.
So you actually have 3 routes.

"We along with the Twinhorn tribe have come on the trial of a great legendary hero of theirs, The Holy Warrior Ivvora. She did battle with the Grathatonhakis, an immense white dragon and nothing else was heard from her. Thus we seek word of her and if possble, an alliance as we seem to have a common foe."
