Daichi Konjou |

"I wonder if something here could tell us what caused servants of the Kaijitsus to become undead monsters such as these," Daichi muses.

Derric |

"Well this is just my guess here but maybe they died trying to protect the treasure. And when the goblins stole the treasure it stirred them from their eternal rest and they were not happy about it so they tracked down the goblins and took back the treasure," Derric suggested.

GM_CariMac |

Jayna moves up next to one of the skeletons, and prepares to Coup de Grace with the rest of the group. "I hope this works." She swings her sickle.

The group counts carefully, and attacks their targets at the same moment. It's a good plan. All of the skeletons save one crumbles to dust. The remaining skeleton who was furthest away in the water stands up and begins to move toward Daichi. He holds no weapon, but his claws look wickedly sharp.
We are in initiative bold are Up:

Kiko Kaijitsu-Qun |

"Good thing we already dispatched the rest." Kiko moves towards Daichio to help keep away the approaching undead but did not approach it herself. So far the others had proven to be more capable of dealing with an enemy like this, she'd simply be back up.
Move Draw Longspear
Move Next to Daichi
The idea is that if the skeleton moves towards us it will provoke

GM_CariMac |

With Jayna's attack, the skeleton tumbles into dust. With a coordinated attack and a well placed missile, the group has defeated the remaining Tien skeleton in the room.
Looking around you see there is a path going to the north from the center of the room, and one going to the north at the west end of the room.
What do you do?

Daichi Konjou |

"Well, that worked more or less perfectly," Daichi says, looking around at the shattered remains of the dead. "Let's keep exploring and make sure that we clear the entire place out. We don't want to leave another den of them behind by mistake. And their souls deserve to finally have some peace. Let's try heading that way." He points to the passage to the west. "I think that takes us in a different direction than we've been before."

Damien Tarrant |

"Sounds good to me!"
Damien heads that way, checking for traps.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

GM_CariMac |

Damien leads the way down the hallway to the west. He finds no traps, but comes to a stop when he sees into the next cavern.
A skeleton wearing Tien style armor sits motionless atop a large jade and cherry wood chest. His armor is fancier than the skeletons you fought previously, and he is wearing a sword on his hip. He is not moving. You also see two more skeletons wearing Tien style armor lying on the ground. Their armor looks the same as those from the other chamber.
What do you do?

Daichi Konjou |

"More of them, and possibly a leader. If I had to guess, he'll be a lot stronger than the others. Alright, everyone get ready to take them out again. And be ready for them to get up this time. I have a feeling that we're not going to get lucky twice."

Daichi Konjou |

Daichi moves to deliver another coup de grace, choosing one of the skeletons that look like servants or minions or whatever they should be called. He doesn't want to be near the big one of he decides to stand up and fight rather than let himself get smashed.

Derric |

Derric studied the armor worn by the leader.
Derric readied his blade as he slowly approached the lead skeleton.
"There's something off here. That armor....
The kitsune had decided to be the one to keep an eye on the leader, but making sure he had enough room to charge the skeleton leader if the thing came alive.

GM_CariMac |

When Daichi gets within 10 feet of the skeleton sitting on the chest, it stands up. He speaks in Tien "Hãy gia tăng anh em tôi và tham gia cùng tôi." The two other skeletons in the room stand up.

Daichi Konjou |

Given that there are a lot of varieties of Tien, I usually use an appropriate regional version. Minkai dialect is usually Japanese.
Daichi sighs. "I knew it wouldn't be that easy twice." He shifts into his fighting stance and slams a foot down into the ground. A chunk of rock the size of his head rises into the air and he unleashes it at one of the smaller skeletons. Better to clear out the minions and let the more heavily armored warriors duke it out with the leader.
Attack (Point-Blank): 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 1 = 11
Damage (Point-Blank): 1d6 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 1 = 10
I have a feeling that misses...

Daichi Konjou |

"It's telling the other skeletons to kill us," Daichi says, reading himself for their attack. "I suggest we kill them first."

Derric |

"It's pretty much telling the others to rise up. So the one that was guarding the chest is indeed the leader!"
Derric snarled at the skeleton leader.
Quick question for when it's my turn: can I use challenge on the skeleton leader (who I'm guessing is Tsutamu) and then charge it at the same time?

Kiko Kaijitsu-Qun |

"Tôi, Kiko Kajitsu, ra lệnh cho bạn đứng xuống!"
Kiko's voice rang through the cave. If these were the remains of her family's retainers and they still spoke and listened to spoken words it was worth a shot to see if they'd listen to a Kajitsu.
Her spoken words were quickly followed by a mumbled prayer to Ashava to entreat her for her blessing.
Standard Cast Bless on the whole bunch of us

Jayna Halbriar |

Jayna fires a Magic Missile at the skeleton who is furthest away. "How many more of these things are there going to be? No wonder Runt wouldn't come with us."
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

GM_CariMac |

Daaichi misses the skeleton by just a bit. It bobs to the side as the stone flies by.
Kiko speaks to the skeletons but they ignore her. She then casts bless on the party. Right after that a Magic Missile flies by everyone's head and strikes the skeleton in the back of the cavern.

Was gone for the weekend! Posting.
"That one there seems as though it might have some power over the others! Focus your holy might there, brother."
Damien is going to go ahead an pop his extract of Shield. AC is now 21.

Leodegrance Tarrant |

Quick question for when it's my turn: can I use challenge on the skeleton leader (who I'm guessing is Tsutamu) and then charge it at the same time?
Samurai class challenge is a swift action, so that should work unless you have some weird archetype or feature that alters it!
Leo nods in response to his brother's comment and turns to focus his attention at the skeleton in the ornate armor.

GM_CariMac |

The better dressed skeleton points at Derric issuing a challenge to the fellow Samurai. "Tôi thách thức bạn Samurai. Bạn sẽ không chống lại tôi. Đó là nhiệm vụ của tôi để bảo vệ." He moves forward and attacks Daichi who is in between him and Derric. He hits Daichi with his wakizashi doing some damage.
The black colored skeleton moves up to Damien and claws at him. It can't quite connect. The yellow skeleton moves up. He trips slightly in the water missing Daichi.

True to his word, Leo moves to strike at the armored samurai skeleton. "I don't know what he said," says Leo, "but I hope he's not expecting a one-on-one duel."
Swift action: Activate Weal's Champion.
At 4th level, and every three levels thereafter, the holy tactician may use weal’s champion one additional time per day (to a maximum of seven times per day at 19th level).

Unable to reach any of the undead or her allies Kiko instead stays back, waiting for her opportunity. She does however prepare herself for what comes after and casts a spell. Shortly after it appears as if her right hand is slightly aglow.
Standard Cast CLW, holding the charge.

Derric |

Derric nodded at the skeleton samurai.
"Kawari ni, watashi wa anata ni mo samurai ni chōsen shimasu!"
Derric quickly readied his blade and charge with all of his might at the skeletal warrior.
Katana Charge: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 2 = 21
Katana charge damage: 1d8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 = 6 Well, the attack roll probably hit, but dang I wish the damage had been a bit higher.

Damien Tarrant |

Hate to be a downer, but last I saw the map, you can't charge, Derric. One cannot charge through occupied squares even if they are friendly, unless I am incorrect

Derric |

Crap!
I really hate that rule! Well except for the attack, everything else is the same. I guess Derric will just move as close as possible to the skeletal leader.
And yes Damien you are correct. I can move through a friendly occupied square but I can't charge through it.

GM_CariMac |

Derric you can't reach him. There are two allies between you and him. Your Katana isn't a reach weapon is it? Tactical Map

GM_CariMac |

Leo swings at the skeleton next to him turning it into dust. He shifts over to where the skeleton was standing. Derric holds his action until a path opens for a charge at the other samurai.
Damien's attack destroys the black skeleton and he shifts to where it was standing.

I've had a very busy last few days. So sorry for not getting this posted sooner. As soon as Daichi shifts out of the way, Derric's charge will happen. I wanted to give Daichi his chance at his complete action.

Daichi Konjou |

Daichi shifts behind Damien so he's still got someone between himself and the skeleton. Then he slams his fist against the wall, causing a large chunk of rock to emerge that he promptly fires at the remaining enemy.
Attack (Bless, Point Blank): 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 23
Damage (Point Blank): 1d6 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 1 = 9

Kiko Kaijitsu-Qun |

Kiko simply waited. There was no use in getting in Derric's way and there was very little she could beyond that. She simply made sure not to touch anything that could absorb the restorative magic she held in her hand.
Kiko will simply wait. She can't do anything without hindering Derric's charge

GM_CariMac |

Daichi moves out of Derric's path. He sends a large rock flying at the remaining skeleton, and it hits solidly. Kiko holds her magic waiting to see what happens, and Jayna fires a Magic Missile off at the skeleton.
Derric growls in anger, and also challenges the samurai back. He charges, and hits him, but doesn't feel like the samurai took as much damage as he thought he should.
Tstamu swings at Derric with a growl, and connects solidly with him. He then continues his swing at Leo, but misses him.

Not changing his HP since I'm pretty much back where I started at. :)
Derric gritted his teeth as he felt the skeletal samurai slash open his chest.
As the blood began to seep through his clothes he watched as Kiko's magic healed his wound, causing the blood to flow back into the soon to be closed wound.
Eyeing the undead warrior before him, the kitsune swung his blade once more, striking with even greater determination.
"Who are you, knave, and tell me what is your purpose!?"
That's in Tien, but I'm too lazy today to do a translation. ;P

GM_CariMac |

Leo they are on round three. I'm sorry I didn't indicate that better. You have two actions you can make. Go ahead and make your actions. He looks pretty hurt. :)
