Works for me. I'm not looking to buy anything really, so I'm not super worried about it. I'm just trying to get this done so we can keep playing.

GM_CariMac |

We aren't using the caravan rules so we go straight from Part II to Part III right after we leave town. I'll do the next post tomorrow night or Monday.
Brinewall castle here we come.

Leodegrance Tarrant |

While running JR I found that not using the caravan interlude put the players a level behind where they should be for Brinewall Castle. I instead made a series of smaller encounters (a couple ambushes, a murder mystery while stopping in Wolf's Ear for provisions) to get the PCs to level 3 before they tackled the castle.

GM_CariMac |

Since we had a 25 point buy. I decided to hold off on level 3 until soon after you get to the Castle.

That works for me on the level 3 upgrade.
By the way, what sort of items are available to buy in Sandpoint that we can use?
Also, I want to apologize for my sporadic postings. Work has been a pain in my butt lately, so I'm sorry about that.
I've already had to bow out of one campaign already and I hate having to do that. But I'm going to do what I can to stay in this campaign.
Just wanted to give y'all's a heads up on this.
But yeah, we should get the sword fixed.

Daichi Konjou |

Hey, small thing I noticed. My division of the loot includes taking the 600 gp out to fix Whispering Shrike, but the loot sheet still has it recorded as broken.

GM_CariMac |

I need to do the roll for the repair. , but I have to see if I can find the bonus of the weapon maker in Sandpoint.
I'll give you a list Derric. Most mundane things aren't a problem. Anything specific you are looking for?

Hey. Quick heads up. My sister is going away to college for the first time this weekend and the whole family is going with to help her move in. I'm leaving tomorrow morning and I should have internet, but my posting may be slower than usual until Sunday.

GM_CariMac |

How awesome for you all. I have two nieces who headed to college this past weekend. They are so excited.

Derric |

Not looking for anything particular, but I think we should get the scroll of mirror image, potion of levitate, and the potion of protection against chaos. Those might prove useful.

Derric |

Also congrats you two!

Kiko Kaijitsu-Qun |

Hey guys. Just a shout out to say I'm still here. I'm a little wobbly on Kiko but I'll figure that out.
Her absence I'll probably explain as her leaving for Magnimar during the week of waiting on Sandru. She'd use that time to both see her family again and ask them what they could do to help Derric with his Kitsune identity.
That said, I think it would be best if I wait with jumping in just a little bit longer as I'll actually be off on a (very) short vacation from Monday till Friday next week.

Derric |

That works for us. And thank you for letting us know Kiko!

GM_CariMac |

I'm looking at a busy couple of days. I probably won't be posting again until Monday.

Kiko Kaijitsu-Qun |

I'm back
Right now I'm figuring out what I want to do with Kiko. On the one hand I rather like her character but I'm less fond of her mechanical parts, though that also is part of the course for full casters at early levels (I think they are rather dull).
One of the things I'm sure on though as that I'm pushing some planned character development for her forward a bit.

What I want to do is to increase Kiko's ties to her Kaijitsu ancestry, both mechanically and (eventually) personally, as well as a more general spiritual theme.
I have several ideas on how to do this mechanics wise. The simplest option would be sticking with Oracle but swapping out her archetype for Spirit Guide and her mystery for Ancestors.
Another option would be changing her class to Shaman, though that would require attribute readjustment as well, taking the Speaker for the Past archetype combined with either the Ancestors or the Lore spirit.
Another approach would be going Spiritualist. Attribute readjustment would also be needed here. If going this route the choice would basically be between the Onmyoji and Phantom Blade archetypes. In case of the former her phantom could be the cleansed spirit of Tsutamu (the big skeleton from the cave) or another figure from her family's past. The Onmyoji version would add two more bodies to melee while the Phantom Blade would only add one.
There are other options, like for instance the Ancestral Aspirant Occultist, but I feel those are further away from Kiko's personality.
The only issue with all of this is that the group would actually lose it's trap-gal if Kiko ditches the Seeker archetype.

Kiko Kaijitsu-Qun |

By the way, if anyone has any comments on my ideas for Kiko as posted above, please share them.
In the end it's my character and I'll choose what to do with it but that does not mean I won't value other opinions. Perhaps you have ideas I haven't thought about or you have other considerations. After all, you are all part of the story she's in and it's best if all characters can flourish.

Daichi Konjou |

While losing access to our trap handler would be a bit of a loss, I agree that changing some stuff up would probably fit the character concept better. I think the Spirit Guide Oracle or Onmyoji Spiritualist would fit the idea best, and I don't really have any better suggestions to offer. I think you have a pretty good idea of what you want to do.

GM_CariMac |

Whatever you feel like works best with your character is fine. Not having a trap handler won't be the end of the world.
You can always throw a dead orc at them. That works surprisingly well.

GM_CariMac |

Post incoming tomorrow. I have a ton of stuff to catch up on after a busy three day weekend.

Derric |

Sorry y'all but I'll be out of contact as I'm in the path of Hurricane Irma. If you need to please bot me. I'll try and see if I can post but most likely I won't be able to. But I do feel bad not posting the past few days as I was trying to get everything ready for when the hurricane hits.
And Kikyo, while I'm a bit concerned about losing our party's ability to disarm traps, I do feel that if it helps you expand your character's concept. I actually like this idea and I agree that the Onmyoji adds more flavor to your character but that's just me. :)

Derric |

Thanks y'all. We under a severe wind advisory warning until Tuesday at 2 AM EST. I hope it doesn't cause too much damage.

Kiko Kaijitsu-Qun |

Oh wow, that's, well, bad. Good luck and stay safe.
Biggest fear I have with the Onmyoji is that I'll be crowding up melee. Right now we have Derric, Leodegrance and Kazariah's pet with Kazariah herself appearing like a switch-hitter.
I would add Kiko and her phantom to that.

GM_CariMac |

Let's see if we can get this thing revived.
Can I get a show of hands for those who are still here? We may need to get some replacement players.

Daichi Konjou |

Honestly, I think I'm going to have to drop out. I kind of thought this game was dead to begin with, but honestly, I think I've lost any drive to play it. I don't really feel interested in this character or the story anymore.

Kazariah |

I thought it was dead too... and I am okay with it if that is what everyone wants. I didn't enjoy playing a hunter as much as I thought I would. But I'm in, with this character or a new one, if you guys do want get things going again. I'm in other games, so I'll be checking in anyway.

OK.
So I have a no, a maybe, and a yes.
Honestly I'm not all that excited about picking up running this again either.
I'll keep you all in mind if/when I decide to run an AP again. There are a few AP's that sound interesting, one being Second Darkness. I was excited to get a chance to play, it died quickly, but the concept was cool.
