I would never use the non-lethal variety, except in a situation like this when I know that we have to apprehend someone...if this is indeed our guy.

Cleaver, I think you can lethally attack Red from where you stand with your iterative if you want to. Or 5’ step to the east and do the same to Blue.

“Cleaver, good job on Dreng! I think the safety-catch is off on the others now.”

Male Bear Burglar 1

Wait, were you counting the -4 to hit for nonlethal? Not sure if the attacks on the sheet are entirely up to date; I could see a +4 gain to hit between one scenario at this level.

If not, that last wave of attacks missed and claw-dreng still stands, though the original critical was still a critical, including fatigue (standard AC is 20). Any reasonable retconning w/ keeping die rolls is open, but with they were this round...

GM Burglar, I’m confused … If everyone is back from Spring Break, is it worthwhile getting an update on our opponent’s status, where we are in the round and whose turn it is?

I think Ander is up.

Ander, still invisible, moves toward the prone clothes rack and chops at it with his blade.

Attack: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 11 + 2 = 33
Damage, Arcane Strike: 1d10 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 + 2 = 14

Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 11 + 2 = 25
Crit Damage: 1d10 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 2 = 10

Still on vacay, and can't edit map.

Male Bear Burglar 1

That is correct, though I'm double-checking that the nonlethal to-hit penalty was getting applied since +16 looks like Varg's standard to-hit. The sheet also says he's still 3rd level, so I wanted to make sure before skewing things against you guys. Alternatively, if it is the case that Dreng is still up but Ander redirects his attack to Dreng (since he's proven hearty enough to likely survive even a Magus crit), we pretty much get to the same result without any real edits to reality. And with Dreng being the biggest threat in this fight (possibly the scenario), I'm likely going to go with that next content post unless Tektite objects by the time I wake up and post again.

Coincidentally enough, I have no dependants so Spring Break really isn't a thing for me anymore. "I take two vacation days off to get my car fixed" is a thing, though, so I should be around plenty for the next few days.

Male Bear Burglar 1

Backtracking via given information on sheets, it looks like his standard to-hit should be +16/+9 (combining the effects from the +1 Furious Axe negating the first Power Attack penalty as per Furious Focus), so it looks like the -4 wasn't in. Going with the Ander-based taketown, to keep continuity and some amount of momentum through this vacation-ous time and since there's a big enough strength disparity between Dreng and the constructs that kinda identifies him as the main threat.

  • Ander moves up to the heavily-beaten Dreng and takes the last swing needed to bring him down! As it's his only wound, he is clearly still alive, but the pain has rendered him unconscious!
  • The unintelligent constructs stand up (red provoking from Varg.) Red, barring another timely crit simply attempts to slam the nearest non-Dreng person; Varg!

    Slam: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 211d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Blue attempts to stand and move across the difficult grease... Acro: 1d20 ⇒ 8 ... though it fails and possibly slips! Ref: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21 It instinctively stops moving and doesn't fall down, though!

Luisila, Panfalcon, Varg, Lin, and Ander are up again!

I do not see your calculations coming out to standard +16/+9, I am +16/+11 when Raging, as far as I know. Varg is, and always has been, 7th level. Are you suggesting that it is -4 to hit when trying to inflict non-lethal damage? I was not aware if that rule. I always thought you could attack as normal, and if you wanted to, you could designate the damage as non-lethal.

Nonlethal Damage with a Weapon that Deals Lethal Damage: You can use a melee weapon that deals lethal damage to deal nonlethal damage instead, but you take a –4 penalty on your attack roll.

No worries on not knowing it; it's one of those random things I've picked up on only because I did it so often in the yesteryear of Taldor Faction Missions. Too many people that really don't want to come back to their Glorious Homeland of Gold (or leave wherever they are, really.) I only just remembered it when I posted, myself.

To correct my own comment, though, my "standard attack" for Varg includes Power Attack (because what fine warrior fails to attack powefully?) Furious Focus only removes the penalty on the first swing; not all of them, so iterative to-hit won't be "Primary - 5," which seems contrary to what's been rolled so far. Usually, the difference doesn't matter and I just keep rollin', but I figured I'd note it since it did cut close here. I believe it's the biggest offender of "Short Text Description is Inaccurate for Feats" problem some of the bigger books have. The "3rd level" thing was just a note on the CR3 listed in your sheet's block, that I found amusing.

Plus, I've had so much time today, what with my car in the shop for a 3-part fix that won't even be done until maybe tomorrow that I need to entertain my brain with something.

Yeah, the car is at around 94,000 miles, so stuff's just kinda degrading at this point.

  • Luisila gives Varg luck!
  • Panfalcon fires off another acidic ray, damaging the blue one!
  • Varg swings his axe twice, each finding a little bit of hardness to the first frame (though he still does a sizable amount of damage!) He then hacks over the frame to his southwest in a single chop to his southwest, confirming it is not a threat! BoL is for all d20 rolls for 1 round, by the way, so the first attack would get a second roll (though only rolling a crit would really change anything).
  • Lin takes the space the one-hit wireframe stood and trips Blue back onto the Grease, to give Ander a safer target!
  • Ander slashes at the easier-to-hit wireframe, connecting easily! While he does chop a gouge into it, it doesn't seem to have gotten through its hardness!
  • The mindless wireframes continue their song and dance; Red identifies Varg as "nearest target!" Blue stands, provoking from Ander! It will then attempt to slam him!

    Slam Red (vs Varg): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 251d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
    Slam Blue (vs Ander): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 231d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

  • Somewhere, one of the designated item crafters for the Grand Lodge factions members has a seizure and his magic items wane erroneously! Luisila's quiver gives her far too many arrows for her first few draws, possibly presuming she has Mythic Manyshot! Regular functionality returns by her third shot, though, and she connects with the creature! Adamantine seems to do the trick vs the hardness of the creature. At 21 damage, it still stands!
  • Panfalcon finally finishes the wire rack he's been working on, melting it into more of a semi-solid metal lump! It ceases moving!
  • Varg applies himself against the red-dressed mannequin and ceased it's activity!

That combat comes to a close, but strange, scenario-dictated things and whatnot...

Varg: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

During the final moments of mannequin activity (even with terrible conditions penalty to the DC), everyone but Panfalcon notice that men have begun moving out into the upper floor from behind curtains and doors!

re-init, not secret just messy:

Howi picture that area to Varg's left; there's enough space for one creature normal, squeezing for two; pick either the north or the south square in each column for threatening purposes and overlap your picture with the actual wall to represent that. Counts as a Low Obstacle for cover modifiers. Could crouch (like a halfway-prone) for full cover if you really wanted, but you'd have to stand up as a move if you wanted to not take the "Take a knee" penalties.

  • Panfalcon glitterdusts the goons, affecting two of them soundly!
  • Ander moves up and fires off a cone of cold spheres! Ref (YGBP): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 121d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 271d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 271d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 Yellow takes the brunt of the spell whereas the others evade it entirely!
  • Luisila fires off her bow, with it only hiccoughing once! She hits Red twice!
  • Linnea, despite distracting herself with taunt-making, still thoroughly disarms the man of his good dagger! Luckily for him, the forces of evil actually have more than one weapon for once (though the others aren't quite as nice.)

  • Blinded, Green and Blue Full Defense, drop to the floor to avoid bow-fire and try to recover from the dust!

Yellow obliges him and moves to her left! He takes a roundabout path with his 35' move to avoid provoking!

Mr. Pink: 26 damage, likely more, & unhappy with his codename

editors note on action alteration for Lin to read if she Lin decides to trip or disarm on her Whip Mastery AoO:
I see Linnea threatens 5 feet, and thus likely gets attacks of opportunity on Red. If you trip them, they use their Stand Up rogue talent to stand up as a free action during their movement. If you disarm either one, remove their attack and the other's sneak d6's and bleed.

You also have an AoO on pink, which is relevant since he's still alive after the botch.

Not quite, Rogue ACs aren't spectacular (after fixing the redonculousness that was that Dodge bonus-adding-per-sneak-die rogue talent). Twas only AC 16.

Miniupdate!

  • Unlike the movie, Mr. Pink is the first to die (at Varg's first actual attack!)

Panfalcon draws a tiny shovel from the cuff of his robes. He slowly begins to kneel while enchanting the ground around him. The shovel takes on a coat of acid as a few drops burn the ground below. Panfalcon drives the shovel into the floor and a line of acid fire forth toward two of the reservoir dogs. Once the line reaches their feet, the line burns a perimeter around them. Circling the square, the floor benieth the two agents gives out to a large pit of acid below!

11/14 rounds of Inspire Courage.

So, red doesn't attack and yellow doesn't get Sneak Attack, correct?

Can I wait on my action to see whether any of the thugs make their saves vs. Anders' pit?

Male Bear Burglar 1

Yes and yes. Though wrong caster. I'll never force actions as a "Do unto other" principle.

D'oh! I didn't get the wrong caster, I just spelled Panfalcon incorrectly. ;-)

So, the map hasn't been updated, right? Just checking.

Male Bear Burglar 1

Correct. Just picked up car, reshuffling cars with mother. The bads have to move to the nearest non-pit squares, if that helps theorycraft.

Cool beans. No probs. Also, sucks about the carstuff. I recently just had to replace the radiator. I could've done it myself if I had the time - but ended up over-paying because it had to be done right away. Now, I need to figure out how to clear the check engine light - got the code, it's just a matter of working through the possible solutions.

Linnea brings her whip around and tries to disarm the yellow bandit.

Disarm, Inspire Courage: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (14) + 21 = 35

Since both disarm and trip take the place of a melee attack, can I treat them like melee attacks and get an iterative? I'm going to try it, but subtracting 5 from the roll as an iterative can. You can ignore it if it's not an action that's kosher.

Linnea then swings the whip wide and low, hoping to trip the disarmed thug.

Trip: 1d20 + 15 - 5 ⇒ (13) + 15 - 5 = 23

I think someone might be having fun as a 're-born' trip/disarm master ;)
