Did Omrax pick up an evil vibe from the fleeing creature before it got away? Does this guy look like one of the demon worm possessed farmers we encountered on the way to Mendev?.

Omrax will move into the room past Desmond and to the left of the man with a club. If tries to AOO him, he will retaliate, otherwise he detects evil on the man and the room.

Ha, no overwhelming auras from anyone yet (since that requires an outsider of HD twice yours.) Anyways...
The creature effectively started and ended a "combat" when he flew up; he can make it upstairs in the surprise round alone, so there was no focus time opportunity.
Note that Detect Evil is a 60-ft cone (or a target in that cone thanks to Paladin special text), so there's no way to get a round 1 "is there any Evil auras in front of me?" or the special paladin use of it as "Is THAT creature evil?" on this turn for the whole room (unless you stuff yourself in the corner and do a diagonal cone, maybe?). I'm going to much desired sleepytime, so you've got time to hammer out what you're doing.
In any case, the club thug hasn't gone yet, so no AoOs on you.

Phew! Done and back! Catching up now. Where are the bad guys at in the room? Did they go invisible? If so, Yushua will cast invisibility purge and move into the room while activating bane. Otherwise he will simply double move up and activate bane.

Special Abilitites: A homunculus has a poisonous bite that is very slow to react (read: Frequency 1/minute). It also cannot speak (which is strange given its speech earlier.)
Special Defenses It only has construct traits; no resistances.
Also, he's perched right above the doorway, carrying a chamberpot. Were you slower to react, he'd likely be readying to dump it on someone coming through.

Sidenote: Sound can't pass through the silenced area (which largely plugs up the whole hole), but shouting bypasses that. You just gotta use your outdoor voice and don't have someone horrendous at perception as the recipient if you're shouting through the walls to bypass the no-talk zone.

Upstairs, there is a small collection of items, including a large urn (read: carried with two hands.) It's silky-white bears artistic renditions of hundreds of horrors, all crammed into its face. A book rests open on a crate. Bedding for 4 sits here, with numerous other (non-magical) items hastily half-packed.

If Luisila will be so kind as to drop the silence effects, Yushua will detect alignments on all of the objects after resheathing his scimitar. He'll also detect magic and try to remember something from that one magic class he took back at the Grand Lodge.

@Yushua: Yup, that urn and two sticks the Jester is carrying are magic, all-right. Would need to inspect them a little harder to determine anything.
The urn may be overpowering to some of your less experienced party members, but you're just above that cusp. That urn is a good lot of Chaotic Evil, and quite fluid about it, too. Like it's multiple auras of different levels.
