Hi, Redelia's character here.
Player name: Redelia
Character name: Faria Sunburst
PFS #: 184425-701
Faction: Second Seekers
reputation before adventure: Second seekers 2
Faria is a solarian, built to have as much of the 'feel' of a paladin of Sarenrae as Starfinder rules allow.

GM Bugman |

Very nice, I haven't played with one of the Pact Worlds archetypes yet but I'm happy to see them sanctioned so fast.

GM Bugman |

Welcome all! Thanks for joining, our sixth player will be in here shortly so let the games begin. For those who haven't posted their chronicle information in here yet, could you please? The things I need are:
Player:
Character
SFS Number:
Faction:
Starting Reputation:
Day Job Rolls!
Otherwise, turn off your safeties and buckle up for a wild ride!

Player: MrStr4ng3
Character: Builder -42
SFS: 335915
Faction Dataphiles
Reputation: 0

GM Bugman |

Apologies for the delay here, Noral needed to step away so I'm trying to muster a sixth. Hopefully we'll be able to find another. If no one jumps on the recruitment today, what are people's thoughts on just going with 5?

![]() |

This is my first SFS run, I don't know how bad only having 5, but I have nothing to lose.

Player: philipjcormier
Character: Tolmu
SFS Number: 55792-702
Faction: Wayfinders
Starting Reputation: 0
Day Job Rolls: profession(counselor): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20

Tolmu! Builder-42! Welcome to your first/early experiences! I can sign off on the Welcome boon and post it with this session's chronicle if you want to post in here which of the items you'd like. I believe you start play with them as well!
If anyone has Alien Archive boons I can do those at the end too.
Tolmu, as for best position, Captian is the only one you have skill ranks in. From the positions list that Ryu generously made, altered for Fazaah stepping out and making use of everyone's skills (only suggestions):
Builder-42 as Pilot
Ryu as Engineer
Faria as Gunner
YDataY as Science
Thorval as Gunner
Tolmu as Captian

My first SFS character, Alzandre Dufau, has the welcome boon already. He is currently playing in LoreMaster GM's The Commencement.
If everyone feels that's ok, I am willing to give it a try.

![]() |

I will be traveling to Paizo Con starting tomorrow, an it is likely that I will not be able to post as frequently as normal. If needed, you can just bot me on firing the guns!

Hi, everyone,
I'm sorry, but I'm needing to withdraw from this game. Real life responsibilities mean I need to cut back a little, and we are early enough that you can add a replacement player for full credit.
I hope you all enjoy the game.
GM, can you please mark me inactive?

GM Bugman |

Yes, sorry to see you needing to step out but no hard feelings. Hopefully we can game again soon!

GM Bugman |

No problem
[spoiler=The name you want to give it] stuff inside. [Spoiler] but just add a / at the begining of the second brackets.

GM Bugman |

Tolmu, you have some opportunity for dice rolls as Captain, you can pick one of three things a round.
I put up a good summary of every position's actions in the map link, starting on slide 4, but a high level overview of the Captain position is:
Demand: DC 19 Intimidate check to give a crew member's action +4
Encourage: DC19 Diplomacy check or DC10 skill check in the skill you're attempting to Encourage to give a crew members action +2
Taunt: a Bluff or Intimidate check to debuff the enemy -2
Don't worry about this round, everyone that succeeded really succeeded and the fails were pretty big fails, but a friendly FYI for the future. Ship combat can be a game sink and I'm going to try to not let this stall us out here.
With a couple new people in the group I can further explain ship combat and how it attempts to work works in PbP if that's help.

GM Bugman |

Just checking in, everyone alright? I know it's the season of Cons with Paizo a couple weeks back now and Origins currently underway, but a reminder to please pop in here and let us know if you'll be out of pocket for an extended time.

Guys,
there is no way that we can make it through this fight by running. We have already ascertained that the drones are faster than we are. Running is not an option.
We have an engineer that can fix the shields, and a science officer that can balance them so that we can keep our weakest ones away.
We need to be decisive about this, or we will be shot down.

GM Bugman |

I apologize if it came off as cruel, I tried to make it a heroic save of the ship to add some energy into the game.
From what I've read of playing experiences it's rare that people succeed in that encounter. Once a drone is taken out another is launched in its place. Ad nauseam. The fact of whether the encounter is won or lost doesn't matter for your mission either or penalize you either.
So, I made the call because it was going to last for another couple weeks and I felt like we were losing the table, if it had been integral we would have stuck it out but as more of a flavor piece I thought this move was best.
I do appreciate your points of view though, any comments to hone the craft are appreciated.

![]() |

I have run this scenario 4-5 times, and the outcome was always the same. The drones shoot the ship down
So, we did the best we could. It is the scenario.

![]() |

Now that I see the edit discussion, yes pretty much unwinnable.
Is this replayable? Cause if so, I plan to play this again in the future, pulling out the best starship boons available just to win this battle.

![]() |

It is not replayable.
I think the best chance is to charge the platform, firing coil gun and missiles and hope you get luck in the first five rounds
4d8+4d4 will overcome the platform, but you have to roll consistently well

GM Bugman |

Apologies, waits on me. Life got hectic last week. I'll try to update by tonight.

GM Bugman |

Looking at it, you did have an opportunity to rest before coming down here that I accelerated past. So if that is something the group would have liked to do, I'm fine retconning the detail.

![]() |

someone with engineering or computers should try to disable the trap that Thorval found.
And no real blame ... Thorval is hurt and angry.

![]() |

This is literally my first completed scenario. I am not sure how these things work, I believe that in the future I could purchase the Ghibrani Huchket Rifle because I have completed this scenario, Is that correct? The GM didn't mention a monetary reward does that indicate there is not one or is there a standard?
Sorry for all of the questions.

![]() |

Access to items, and the monetary rewards, will be listed on our chronicles.
Check out the Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild Guide for more information on that sort of thing!

![]() |

You are correct about the Huchket rifle. The Chronicle Sheet will have its stats, including cost. There will most probably be several different items made available for purchase either now or at any later date. The Chronicle Sheet will also inform you of any rewards including the monetary reward for the mission.

![]() |

The Starfinder Society Chronicle Sheets are similar to Pathfinder ones, and work almost the same.
As for all the questions, that's how you learn, and we have all had to learn. This is my first mission with this character, and I have another that just finished his 2nd, so no worries.
