Xull |
Xûll the Outcast. Bloodrager. Level 3. Just dotted in.
I'm happy to play a slayer (level 1) also, or a spiritualist (level 1). I'd almost prefer it - even though this one reeks of the Exchange/Qadira - since Xûll will be level 4 after this (starting to get a bit too high for the group again). It might be nice to try to level up another toon to keep the challenge rating up. ;-)
Also, if our APL for this scenario creeps above 2.5, we'll be playing the higher subtier with only 5 players.
Let's see how it goes, but I'll be standing by ready to jump in with a level 1 instead.
... and Amaranti needs to be around for Scions of the Sky Key Part 3, Jyri! Starting in just 1 week. ;-)
GM_TheBobJones |
Chris- make any purchases you need.
Damian - Next one we go to the Worldwound, hang tight my friend. If you look at the Info tab, you might see some familiar faces.
I did not plan on running this for a bit, but if we have everyone checked in, I could push some of the RP a little. Not sure that I could get Amaranti back to Scions in a week though.
Regardless, once you guys figure out who is in, and what kind of party you want, then give me the go ahead. This is a 50-50 RP-combat so a balanced party that can do some DPR is good.
Silbeg |
What's the plan for the next scenario? Maybe the Horn of Aroden? ;)
@Xûll, technically... if we were at exactly 2.5, we could round down to 2, and be fine. This part of the rounding rules was left vague on purpose.
So, I am seeing fighter 3 and bloodrager 3...
My only current character in The Exchange is Gunari, who is obviously unavailable. My unknown level 2 would also be The Exchange (courtesy of Gunari's chronicle from The Paths We Choose).
Xull |
I'd personally like to see either your ratfolk odd-ball or some kind of witch / oracle. I think we've got enough fighter types, and some spells would be handy. Definitely need someone to wield our wands of CLW! ;-)
Jyri, if you want to play with this group regularly, I'll play a new toon (probably that spiritualist). Otherwise, I'll stick with Xûll for now.
Silbeg |
Ah... can't play Wardstone Patrol, though it is a great one.
FYI - I have been coerced into playing Merchant's Wake on Thursday IRL -- I can use one of my GM replays, if you still need me to play to make the table. In this case, I would probably build my The Exchange character, but I'll have to get back to you all on what I'll play. I am thinking a Heaven's Shaman. I could still play my Undine Bard (he's fun). Lucius is playing Thursday.
I would also understand if you didn't need me.
When we planning on starting?
GM_TheBobJones |
Start date is contingent on players. We have 3 confirmed, and you and Jyri on the fence. We could run 5, if I have to recruit, I want to give it at least a week with a lot of people on spring break and Easter neigh.
No worries either way. Your still my favorite 5 star GM
Silbeg |
4 star, you mean :P
I tell you what, if you need me to fill a table, I will certainly do so. This gives me some time to figure out a character, though I do have a Bard 2, Druid 5, and Slayer 3 that could go. Pretty sure that Trask won't do well in a social scenario, though.
Xull |
We could play with 4, if Silbeg doesn't want to us a GM star. In that case, as we'd for sure be playing subtier 1-2, I'll bring a spiritualist along. I can always bring Xûll back when it is time for the Worldwound.... unless you need him at level 4 for that!
It'll be a shame to miss out on the faction mission, but I really don't want to advance too fast when others are "stuck" behind, and I'd like to get some leveling use out of my chronicles rather than take the slow advancement track.
GM_TheBobJones |
World wound is 3-7. If my math is right 3+3+2+1=9/4=2.2. I would reccomend we do this at tier 1-2 w 4 party adjustment.
Either way let me know I'd like to get this off the ground this week or so.
Xull |
If your math is right, we have to do it at 1-2 w/4 party adjustment (you round the numbers, so we round off to level 2).
I'll play a level 1 character for this. Depending upon Silbeg's choice, it will be a spiritualist (Hamilton on board) or a slayer (no Silbeg / no Hamilton).
That is, unless you have any objections to this, John?
Methodios |
Here's one of my other character ideas. Finally got my head around the class. Plan is to be a paired teamwork style combat duo (similar to Amaranti and Kaisharga). The phantom (at first blush) seems to kick a bit more butt than the eidolon... but I'm really curious to playtest and see.
Tengus have always been interesting to me also... not what I would have created after watching Dark Crystal, but still way cool.
GM_TheBobJones |
Ok, we have 3 confirmed, Damian, Jyri, and Chris. Waiting on Jason to dot in, PMed him, and Jack - up to you my friend. If you want to burn a replay, just let me know.
@ Everyone As I mentioned, it is probably a 60-40 RP combat, so whomever you want to play, a-ok w/ me. Some nice rewards for the exchange faction.
Xull |
*does some reading*
The Occult Adventures playtest will run until November 25, 2014.
Ah, sh•t. Thanks for the heads up.
Looks like it's a Chelish Slayer (without Trask) or a Sylph Sky Druid (without Sun) or Xûll (if we have both Trask and Sun). Ah, so much for the spiritualist. Actually, I was having a bit of trouble with the concept still, so probably all for the best. ;-)
Sun Desin |
I am here! I was down in Orlando the past two days for the National Plastics Expo. Lack of sleep aside, I am getting all caught and read up. Should have my character chronicle updated and new (if any) items purchased by the end of the day tomorrow.
GM_TheBobJones |
Great!
So we have Chris and Jason set to go, Jryi - how about this weekend to get a character in order, or whenever you are can be ready.
Jack, your choice. I'd love to have you, we'd be 5, if not, no worries.
Damien, once Jack decides, the let me know when you are ready.
I'd like to get this off the ground since there is some very heavy roleplaying.
Xull |
Since Sun is in, my Sylph Sky druid is out. Both my Slayer and Xûll are ready to go when you are! Well, I need to copy stats out of Hero Lab... but otherwise, totally good to go. ;-)
I'll work on a background when I know it will be needed (I have an outline... from Cheliax, hired killer turned Pathfinder).
Xull |
FYI, Vinnie Jones (despite being from nowhere near north-east England) does a great Geordie accent, if you're unfamiliar with the regional dialects of the UK:

Great ad (and very informative) playing off his hard-man image. Totally could (and do) see Arthrax talking exactly like this.
Tiberius Scaevola |
Here's Tiberius!
In need of some final touches (I don't like the PCGEN output too much...), but now we have a wizard in the party.
GM_TheBobJones |
Cool feat Jyri, I like it a lot. Check out my gnome evoker I am GM crediting him to level 2 before I take him out.
Xull |
Tiberius: I like the toppling spell feat - but wouldn't you be better off grabbing it at level 3? You can't exactly use metamagic at level 1. Unless you want to keep maxing out more metamagic feats, of course. ;-)
As for spell specialization - I love that for magic missile! Nice use of that feat.
GM_TheBobJones |
@ Xull He can with Magical Lineage magic missile. He can cast his toppling magic missiles as a level 1, since toppling is a +1 and magical lineage cancels out the +1. Finarin has that for shocking grasp. Heightened is a +1 so with Magical Lineage he will always cast Shocking Grasp as a level 1 spell, at level 10 doing 10d6 w/ Heightened.

Don't you mean Intensified Spell -- Heighten Spell just raises the spell level of the spell (for purposes of saves, etc).
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
Ok, I've been doing the math...
If I play Trask, we're at 3 melee bashers, and an APL of 3+3+3+2+1=12/5 = 2.4 -- so we'd be playing 1-2.
If I play Z'hor'll, we'll be at 2.2, so still at sub-tier 1-2. That seems a little more appropriate (3 level 3 melee guys will destroy any combats, and Z' is a bit better at social stuff).
I'll go ahead and play, and I will use Z'hor'll if no one has any strong feelings to the contrary. I'll need to find some time to make his purchases, though.
Methodios |
My tengu has transformed into a Slayer (to get the benefit of my GM chronicle).
Meet Methodios: Chelaxian Slayer. Don't cross him... and he may even tell you something of his background (when I get some time).
All purchases, feats, skills, blah... are provisionally complete (ie. I'm taking any suggestions, but leaving him as-is for now).
The plan is to make a decent melee and ranged build.
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
So, Damien, are you playing Methrodios or Xûll?
GM_TheBobJones |
Is there anyone who can use a Wand of CLW?
Edit: Nevermind, I'm a dumbass.
John,
I want to purchase a Wand of CLW for 2 PP so Sun can spam heal us if need be.
Cool, remind me when we do chronicle info!
Tiberius Scaevola |
@John: Ha, great minds think alike! Lot of similarities on Nugat and what I've planned for Tiberius, including the sorc dip. I haven't played casters that much, so this all new to me. Don't know if the toppling spell is that useful in higher levels, but it should be fun in the beginning.
So four humans and an undine? Awesome!
