Dot here! Right now, I'll take the first 6 signups for the Season 7 7-11, Ageless Ambitions.
As should be noted in the title, this is part of the PbP Gameday V, which can be found here: PbP Gameday page
Your GM, Black Powder Chocobo |
@Ricky: We'll see, you guys are still in for a couple of tough battles in your game!
And welcome to everyone so far! Looks like room for 1 more.
@Nix: I have to ask about your PC later for the backstory for a single in so many classes. I think I see a trend, but it must be an interesting story :)
"Fletch" |
Hey GMBPC: if Amarthecthel is done by then, I'd love to play him here. But since that's probably not going to happen, I submit my 11th level ranger, Fletch.
Your GM, Black Powder Chocobo |
Alright, there's 7 signed up, so we'll go with that! Here's the party so far
Gayel_Lord/???
Luke_Parry/Nix...
GM Skipper/???
Phylotus/Sheriff Declyn
RyckyRych/Amarthecthel or ???
Tarondor/Fletch or Pelkin
Qstor/Rogar
Thanks for signing up!
So just to give you guys a heads up, I use Google Drawings for maps, which I'll have a link in my profile as well as the campaign.
Also, please have a nice quick stat bar under your profile name like "Fletch"; this is done by tossing in the useful info under the Race or Gender (or both!) box(es) in your profile. It helps me out with a lot of quick checking, particularly since I will usually roll saves for you.
Can't think of anything else right now, but we have just under a month til start day, so plan your party and begin a little RP. I'll at least give you the starting session once the party makeup has been decided (although I know 2 players are waiting to finish off their module first, so it may wait a bit).
Thanks in advance for playing with you!
Sheriff Declyn |
If you're rolling saves I should let you know that I am using what my group affectionately calls The Ioun Stone of Cheese, that being a Clear Spindle slotted in a Wayfinder. Can't have someone with even a merciful musket getting dominated to turn on his allies, haha.
Nixkamich Otaktay |
Alright, I have updated Nixkamich :-)
For the record, I have had people think he was a joke character, but he was built as a theory-crafting exercise, and turned out to be extremely effective, so I decided to actually *play* him :-D
Essentially, he is an elderly aasimar, who has been around so long, he has tried a little of everything ;-)
Your GM, Black Powder Chocobo |
At least for all the dipping, there is an obvious weakness to your PC, although Dang if I can get that with a +13 Init :P
@Sheriff: Good to know; of course, all of the mind-controlling baddies in this adventure are neutral, so no worries on my end!*
*GM does not actually know if that is the case.
Qilfobber the Risen |
SkipperD here. I feel like we're missing some roguish elements, so I'll bring this guy. I'll have his stats available before the gameday starts.
Nadil al'Gurat |
SkipperD here again. I have a grandfathered level 10 summoner I could bring instead. It looks like we're a bit short on frontliners so he'll probably be good fit.
Your GM, Black Powder Chocobo |
Grandfathered summoner? A game will have to be broughten on my end! ;)
Tarondor |
SkipperD here again. I have a grandfathered level 10 summoner I could bring instead. It looks like we're a bit short on frontliners so he'll probably be good fit.
Just FYI, either of my guys will be front liners. Fletch's style is to shoot once, then close with a big hunk of steel and an angry dire wolf.
Gayel Nord pfs |
Hey... I will not be able to bring my ranger. I cannot reach level 7 for gameday.
But don't fall to despair, Luck (at minimum a conduct of it) is here!

Lamare |
"For the love my preservation Desna"says a Blond haired man with a patchwork cloth. "Don't you have someone more powerful for this?"

The party is on a boat heading port city of Merab, upon decree from the Master of Swords, Marcus Farabellus. Much of the party has only recently met, but the long voyage gives them proper time to learn about each other, including how to best use their skills for whatever mission is awaiting you in Thuvia.
Figure you guys can at least introduce yourselves. This is as much opening as I want to offer until August 27th.
Pelkin Norwind |
OK, so what mission has been brought to me this time? I hope its not as complicated as the last.
Lamare |
"Yes. I don't like..."
Lamare notices the symbol of Desna on him.
"By the regret of the goddess, you worship Desna!" cries of joy. Do you if a church of Desna exist? Where you had your power, did someone gives you religion teaching about her? What does she like to eat... " Lamare stops talking, looking embarassed. "Sorry, it just have been receiving power from her and they are getting stronger and stronger. I have just improvised since the start of this. Now there another touched, i can finally have answer to my question. Tell me, it is true that Desna is like a podometer? The more, you walk, the better power you have?"he says at the speed of light?

Pelkin Norwind |
If by power you mean confidence in your own abilities, then yes. Desna herself is more like a flighty dream, or a nightmare if you cross her. She is peaceful unless you give her reason to fight. That is the best that I can tell you.
Sorry, I'm not too good at the religion stuff.
Sheriff Declyn |
Sounds like she is as aloof for you as Torag is for his children, says a Kellishite man in a strong voice. His skin has obviously been ravaged by the desert sun, and he wears a wide brimmed hat as he sits on a stool and maintains his weapon. He also wears a faded red poncho over his fine cotton shirt and breeches, a platinum pendent hanging around his neck and over the covering, and a badge bearing a blue and red shield with crossed weapons rests over his heart.
Oils, rags, and other utensils crowd his area in a neat array, and he only takes one or two pieces at a time and meticulously places them back in their place when he is done with them. For those innitiated, you know the intricate weapon made of shining steel and dark hardwood is a musket, and despite showing some weathering it is obviously well cared for.
The name is Declyn, Shieldmarshal of Alkenstar, and long time agent to the Society. May I ask your names, since we will be traveling together for some time?
Rogar dwarf |
"Greetings all" A dusty dwarf carrying a heavy pick with a spellbook strapped to his back enters the room.
"Names Rogar nice to meet you Shield marshal"
Your GM, Black Powder Chocobo |
@Pelkin: Sounds good to me :)
We'll be starting soon..., so keep up the RP, share anything you wish, then we'll get the adventure started!
Pelkin Norwind |
Pelkin Norwind. I do hope our travels together will be safe, though that is rarely the case when the Society is involved.
Lamare |
Lamare coughs a little.
"Hum hum, Jean-René Lamare but you can call me Lamare. I give Luck and those who are attacking a lot, i will lend this headband. Chance will be with you when you save yourself from the unknown + 1 luck to saving throw and chance will stick to you longer. Six second in fact. I would happy to use any consumable on you to give the liberty to do what you want."
Hi! My primary language is in french. So, don't be surprise about my bad writting sometimes.
Like it was writting like a survivor than a spellcaster. I am not an expert in cleric throwing my luck domain to other and use whatever skill he have. Be happy gives him all scrolls he can cast. (Especially remove paralysis and breath of life)

Pelkin Norwind |
No worries about the language thing. I find that its usually an overblown corcern!
Sheriff Declyn |
Declyn nods at each person in turn as they introduce themselves, Well, it's a pleasure to meet you all. And I appreciate the offer of a headband, Lamare, but I've already got somethin' attuned to me, he says as he tilts his hat and reveals a bronze headband just above the brim of the hat. Keeps me eyes sharp. In a different way than these though, he says as he pulls out an odd pair of thick framed glasses with hexagon inlaid green lenses.
Whatever the Society has planned for us, I doubt that with our skills that it's a normal delve into a tomb.
I second the language thing, don't worry about it :-) You're doing a fine job.
Amarthecthel |
"I'm hoping for something a little more relaxed than my last outing," says the tall elf with a Qadiran scimitar at his hip. "An embassy to the Land of Lonely Women, perhaps, or a stint guarding a very old winery."
Not me, Lamare! I demand perfect diction in my native language... Klingon.
Pelkin Norwind |
Pelkin comes up to the Hexcrafter and warmly shakes the elf's hand. I thought you might have visited such places already? You certainly deserved to after our last adventure.
Sheriff Declyn |
The Society is my version of "Land of Lonely women," Declyn says with a chuckle. Much as I love my Duchy, the people within it can get rather self absorbed with their own little problems. The immanent threat of death is a good vacation from hunting down smugglers and runaways in the desert, he says with a full bodied laugh this time.
Amarthecthel |
Amarthecthel returns Pelkin's grip with an easy smile. "The Silver Crusade is a harsh mistress, old friend. I have been hard at work learning new spells from this we found in Jalmeray. This, I'm afraid, will have to count as my vacation. Though there is this fascinating young waitress in Absalom with a smile to set an old elf's heart racing. I try not to get involved with anyone under a century old, though."
"How have you spent your time? Tell me it wasn't all crushing the dreams of petty tyrants and tax collectors. Any damsels in distress?"
Turning to Sheriff Declan he snorts in amusement. "The Society? Good gods, Pelkin, we must introduce this young man to a less stabby class of women."
Pelkin Norwind |
I don't know, I like some of the stabby class once in a while.
Amarthecthel |
"Oh?" said the magus, not letting his friend off that easily. "Do tell. Is there a Society maiden who's got your heart? he gasps in amused speculation. "She's a hellknight, isn't she? Oh, please let her be a hellknight!"
Pelkin Norwind |
Do you really think I would remember their names? You think Pelkin might have laughed after that statement.
Sheriff Declyn |
You forget, the marshal says, gesturing to his face, I am Keleshite. Women taking charge is the norm in my culture, stabby ones are par for the course! he says with a hearty chuckle while lifting his shirt to reveal a scar from his hip to his shoulder blade, this one came from a storm giant. Loved her birds that one, and her sword arm was... well, as one would expect for a storm giant! And this one, this one, he says as he moves his shirt to show a scar that appeared to be from a blade and a burn along the same line, this one was from a certain fiery efreeti woman that lived up in the mountains.
Lamare |
Hearing something about an effreti women in the mountain... Lamare shivers...he don't know why.

Upon arriving in Merab, the party is checked out by customs. The personal effects of the party do get some attention, particularly Declyn's weapon slung across his back. Speaking in a foreign tongue, some of the officials begin to questions among themselves.
"What should we do? Such a dangerous weapon walking around!"
"We could seize it... would fetch a good amount to this one guy in the back-alley of The Fatted Calf."
"No, too dangerous!"
"Not if we..."
Their conversation is cut short when a scarfed man of fine dress and auburn skin approaches, replying to them.
"Hey, you to, Dockmaster Putakka has another ship for you to check out. I got these strangers."
The two customs officials look at each other, shrug, and carry on before the scarfed man greets you in Common. "Well met; Marcos requested me here to take you to the safe house."
