An explosion rocked the orc nearest to Sander as the alchemist launched one of his bombs. It fell short, but still managed to splash fragments and fire all over the approaching orc. An eponymous battlecry sent Storn hurtling chest first into the giant's club, but the distraction was enough to land a heavy blow of his own, hacking into the giant's leg like he was trying to fell a tree.

Dieter made good use of the distraction to move away from the giant, his broken collarbone and ribs causing him great pain as he moved to finish off the wounded orc. He couldn't get a good swing with his injuries, though, and failed to connect. The orcs grinned as it raised its falchion in return, then frowned. A small arrow sprouted from its armpit. It turned to see Kipa with bow just starting to lower, and then crashed to the sodden grass.

Quill took aim and fired, one arrow nocked to the string and launched nearly as soon as the first had finished its work. Both of the orcs injured by Molly's lightning bolt fell, each pierced through the throat. The last orc tried to circle around Storn, to pin the big man between himself and the giant, but its strike bounced off of a slightly glowing blue shield.

Round 3:

Dieter was dead...until I shifted Kipa's aim from the newly dead orc to Dieter's target. Buy the little halfling something nice, will you?

the weighted javelin gives a -2 AC penalty. It can be removed from the armor with a full-round action.

Next, the Witch launches an incantation she only recently tried for the first time, and another blast of lightning flies forth -- this time to impact squarely with the giant's body!

@Quill - Sorry. In my mind I had you going after Kipa, and applied your attack to the giant. If you're keeping score, though, that orc would have been your kill, and Kipa would be hanging his halfling drawers in the wind.

Ok just makes me change my approch a bit. I need the flank to activate my Sneak attack & all the bonuses from that that we will need.
Sorry for the needling that is about to be mentioned, going for the past experience fighting along side each other thing.

Kipa, seeing Storn heading in to the path of the damn giant and Dieter stepping back to get his bearings & a few extra range attacks in before diving back into the fray, starts to run around to get a good angle on the target to help out in the best way he can. A quick though passes through his brain He seems to be learning. Good

Action for turn 5:
My movement depends on where GM places Storn. Both will be a double move.

If Storn steps into FS-134 or he stands still (having reach on a weapon), Kipa will go to FV-132 avoiding AoOs.
If Storn steps into FS-133 or FS-135, Kipa will go to FV-137 avoiding AoOs

Attempting to get to a flank w/ Storn in Round 6. Since Storn goes before Kipa, he would be able to react the proper way. Sorry for the complicated action. Need the flank to get the SA off. Need the SA to do most of the damage & help set up every one else to hit better.

Hey Sanders you can cast cure spells right?

Male HP 62, AC 19, Touch 14, FF 16, F9/R11/W5, CMD 19 Halfling alchemist 10

I can make curative extracts, so ... sort of? Which reminds me, I handed out some CLW+ potions when we were on the boat.

Trying to figure out ways to get Dieter up and running closer to his normal HP so he can get back in here & swinging is all. Thanks for the CLW postions as well

@everyone - thank you for your patience. hotel had no internet connectivity, and I was too busy playing catchup this weekend to look at the forums. Game on!

Molly, Dieter - I've been gone for a week, so you've had plenty of time to post your actions.

@Kipa - if you want to close with the giant (reach) you have to roll an acro check. I did it for you this time.

GM screen:

acro: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (15) + 16 = 31

1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32
2d8 + 10 ⇒ (5, 3) + 10 = 18
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
2d8 + 10 ⇒ (1, 8) + 10 = 19

Storn's blow, while ineffectual, at least drew the giant's attention away from the halfling as Kipa dodged in. The club whooshed over the rogue as he rolled to a stop behind the giant's left knee. With a stupid look on its face, the giant started swinging its head back and forth, looking for the small figure. It's look of confusion was replaced with one of rage and pain as one of Quill's arrows buried itself to the fletching in its left eye. Screaming in pain, the giant flailed, nearly knocking Storn to the ground with its club and it whirled and thrashed.

Round 5-6:

the weighted javelin gives a -2 AC penalty. It can be removed from the armor with a full-round action.
Pouring rain gives -4 modifier to ranged attacks.
I will use Dieter's posted action for R5

In bold may act

R6: Storn, Dieter, Quill, Kipa, Molly, giant, Sander

Sander lets his sling stone fly -- right over the giant's head as he overcompensates in his efforts not to hit any of his companions. He grabs another stone and beings loading it into the sling.

Yelling at the top of his tiny lungs "STORN GET THIS BIG LUG BETWEEN US!"

Hey Storn, Can you take a 5 foot step to FS-133 so we can be flanking please? If I can get a SA off on the giant, I can drop his armor down by 2 so it will be easier to hit. Hell take a 5 foot then hold your attacks till after me if youd like.

The combined might of Storn, ingenuity of Kipa, and ranged attacks from Quill and Dieter bring the giant down. As it toppled, Kipa ran away to make sure he wasn't crushed under the brute. The heavy rain continued to pour down on the glade as everyone relaxed slightly.

"THAT ONE COUNTS FOR ME" Kipa calls out as her cleans his blades and returns them to their scabbards laughing. He is just happy the giant is down & will hurt no one else, not really caring who go the last shot in.

Looking around at the downed enemies "That was an interesting tussle." Looking over at the tree line "Hey Elf you can come out now. It's safe. No one is dead but the bad guys. Not even Dieter! How is everyone doing?"

Quill tries to hide is incredulity at the statement from the newcomer as he points to the 4 arrows lodged deeply into the giant, including the massively deep one into the giant's eye.

"This one is *yours*, huh?" Quill looks to see if anyone else is buying that load of gnomeshit.

I buried this one into its eye like I bury my bone into your mom! Quill titters at a funny private thought.

"Maybe if we want to avoid patrols, we should, you know, be more careful like I was saying," Quill offers as he searches the orcs for extra arrows and gold and loot.

Made me laugh out loud, Quill.

"Quill's right. Hopefully we're far enough away that no one from the fort realized what just happened, but if they're expecting this group to return, they may get concerned when they don't."

He looks concernedly off in the direction of the fort.
