Ah, I used the wrong word! Beg your pardon.

"Nah, it's 'cause I wouldn' trust that lot to pickpocket a man dead drunk on brandy and pesh," Molly says in a light tone of voice. "Then again, I wouldn' trust 'em to hustle a nobleman at cards. Ain't really got it in 'em, do they? They're great friends to have when the metal hits the meat, but they're not on the dodge, are they."

The Witch directs a calm, heterochromatic look at Kipa. "Not like the two of us here, that is."

With a smirk "that is true lass that is true. And as long as their metal hits the meat of some one else I'm ok. Some times you need the blunt ones to help keep everything in the open. Sometimes you need them so you can keep eyes some place else."

Male Halfling unchained rogue/8 HP:59 AC:23Touch:17 FF:NA CMD:20 F:5 R:13 W:6 Inti:+7

Taking note of Molly's eye colors, Kip makes a mental note to ask about that when they are around a table once again and they can talk level headed & fully relaxed, knowing full well asking something like that the wrong way to some one with powers like her's could lead to him not coming out of these woods all together.

For now he will stick to the normal get to know you stuff. "So what got you started on this life style of fun and adventure?"

taking a moment to think of something off the top of his head, in a joking tone "Wait. If Quill is out there on his own, won't he be over hear with his mopping and the flowers around him wilt some from being depressed by what he is saying?"

"Had to skip my hometown because a girl caught me in the hayloft with her fiancé," Molly says, grinning. "It's been a laugh ever since, though. I like having clothes that ain't all leather and not having to get up before dawn to rob the hens and milk the cows. Much more fun to sucker card-players and rob evil wights what want to cause mass slaughter. More challenging, too. How about you?"

The Witch calmly reaches out and raps a single knuckle on Kipa's head.
"Leave the kid alone. He may be maudlin, but he's young. Not used to the big, bad world yet. Give him time."

Male Halfling unchained rogue/8 HP:59 AC:23Touch:17 FF:NA CMD:20 F:5 R:13 W:6 Inti:+7

Rubbing that back of head and a smirk about her time in the loft. "Hey, I will give him all the time the world will allow him. And young... well that is clear. I may pick on him some, but that is mostly because he remind me of where I was years ago. Remind me not to play cards with you unless we can split the pot from a couple of suckers. I like keeping my money.

When I was real young, like 8 or 9, my family along with my home village were killed by a group of giants. I escaped by hiding in the woods close by. I spent a few years wondering around. Finally was taken in by our guild, who taught me everything I know and really became like my second family. They really gave me a direction. Tease me at times, backed me up at other times. I started working jobs for the guild a few years later & have not looked back since. Kind of what I hope I can show the elf boy in a way. Life just started & it is hard but he is not alone in it."

Dieter walks along quietly, half-listening to their stories. His mind was elsewhere, considering forms, stances, and maneuvers against giants.

Looking over at molly then down the road some from the safety of the tree line. "So the basic plan here is if something is in the going to come after us, Dieter plays the decoy as we flank? From the look of Storn, he can take a beating as well as I am sure he can give one. Dieter is in the same boat." He says this as he makes his way around the foliage of the tree line. "And I trust that Quill will be keeping an eye out as well."

"If we see something, we sneak back and report, maybe help the others get around it without getting caught," Molly says. "If that ain't an option, we help 'em get close so's we can ambush it. If we get into a fight, I have two lightning bolts prepped, and something else to fill an area with nippy spiders. My job is to soften the enemy up, then stick it full'a bolts. Though that last one ain't doing so hot since Sander started tossing big, bad bombs around."

"Well, doesn't he sound like a... blast"

after a moment of laughing to himself at his really bad joke

" Ok just want to know what the normal game plan was this group in these situations. Every party seems to have a different set up they like. Once, I was in a party of people much like Dieter. They knew what side of the pointy stick to be on and where to place it, but their M.O. was to charge in & kill the monster. Not much prethought. My job was to remove traps & get around the side of the the big bads to stab where I can and add support where it was needed. Nice pay after but there were a bit too many close calls for me. When you see a mother dragon and her babes, you turn around & leave. You do not go charging in."
ducking under a really low hanging branch of tree.

"So, how did you come about your powers? I hope you didnt wake up one day and have spiders pouring out of your mouth. That could be very scary for some one so young."

Looking down at the toad "Sir Toad, after some of the conversations I have had with Dieter, that may be the most profound thing I have heard."

Looking back up to Molly "Sounds like a fine way to come into power. Better then you started to sing one day and a goblins head exploded. Happened to a bard I knew once. Very messy and the tavern owner was not happy about the bar fight that happened after."

Holding a sapling out of her way as the two walk along the wood line. "Magic has never been in my family. We have always done more of the slight of hand type. A bit more handy in situations where words can not be used and you just have your hands to work with. Other times, not as useful."

"I may take you up on that one day lass. Anything I can put intro my bag of tricks can be helpful. Just a side note: Don't mind spiders, just don't like them in my mouth. Just a personal thing."
this makes me wish PF was a bit more open w/ their leveling system. Pick up a spell now & then if you are not a magic focused class would be cool.

Looking back at her for a moment "I was going to wait till we were done for the day but figure might as well now. May I ask about your eyes? Having two different shades is rare in this world. Which is saying something in this world. Do not get me wrong. they are lovely shades. Reminds me of flowers called a forget-me-not and Bellflowers. Just wondering if there was a story behind them."

Storn tromps alongside Dieter and Sander in the back, his greatsword drawn and slung over his shoulder. He's doubly inscrutable due to the cloak over top of his face-obscuring helmet. Finally, he tries to break the silence.

"I've told my story enough. How did you two wind up in this mess? How did you join your company Dieter and Sander how... Quill complains about being ill-suited for this life, but that goes doubly for you. What got you making bombs?"

Quill as to location on the map no idea. GM said it would take 2 days to walk there, waiting for him to say we break for camp to wrap up day one. Molly & Kipa are on one flank in the woods a few yards up as scouts on that side. You said you were going on the other flank. Dieter, Sanders and Storn are on the main road behind us. Ive been making perception checks now & then to see if GM responds w/ something that may be out of the ordinary

Dieter collects his thoughts for a few moments before answering. "My family traces its lineage to the Land of the Linnorm Kings, home of the reclusive and brutal northern folk. My forefathers found ready work as mercenaries, campaigning during the harsh winters and returning in the spring with bounties for their family. This established a tradition of sorts, with each passing generation choosing whether to take up the mantle of 'coin-sword." He kept a wary eye on the road ahead as he spoke.

"Coming of age as a man, my father decided one spring that it was time for me to join him on a venture southward. We skirted the coast, where a trading caravan just outside Riddleport hired the company to escort them to Lastwall. After several uneventful weeks, the caravan was attacked by a band of orcs south of the Mindspin Mountains. The company was victorious, but my father fell in battle along with most of the guards. The merchant caravan made it through, and unceremoniously dropped me at the church of Gorum at Castle Everstand." He shifted the weight of his cloak to leave his sword-arm unfettered.

"I was taken in by the clergy of Gorum and did odd jobs and manual labor to earn my keep. I trained with the soldiers stationed at the keep and learned warfare at a young age. Recently, our company was hired by the dwarven siblings to explore the vault. I was chosen to accompany the team as a heavy infantry. The rest you know about."

The first day of walking was a clogging mess through the driving rain. There was no road or even a path, and for the most part you had to find your way through the undergrowth of a medium-dense forest. You camped for the night in a small clearing, taking watches with two alert at all times. There were plenty of sounds in the night, but mostly they involved water splashing from trees into large puddles, and the occasional falling tree branch.

You set out the next morning after a cold breakfast, and resumed the march. It was mid-day when you broke through the dense forest into a more lightly-wooded area. The change was so sudden that Kipa and Molly didn't realize they were exposed until a shout went up from a patrol of orcs and a giant that were staring at them from not more than a hundred feet away. The orcs winded a horn and broke into a ragged charge, headed straight for you!

Sander rushes ahead, blinking rain out of his eyes, and downs his extract of barkskin.

Move 20 ft. to FG-133 (I see nothing indicating it's difficult terrain so should be able to move that far).

Dieter spits a mouthful of blood and wipes off his chin. "Thanks for the spell, Storn. May the Lord in Iron favor us this day!" He hefts his sword and waves forward. "Come on, then! We need to close the distance or that giant is going to keep lobbing stones!"

Move to FQ-133. Ready an action to attack any targets who approach.

Everyone continued to advance in the rain, with Storn providing Dieter with some much-needed armor enhancements. Quill, sighting carefully through the rain, chose one of his new orc-bane arrows and sent it winging towards his chosen for. His keen elven eyes saw the arrow strike just to the side of the hollow at the base of the orc's throat, and sink in nearly to the fletchings. The orc staggered, coughing up blood, but continued to follow with its companions as they charged forward. All of the orcs stopped about ten feet away from Dieter and threw their javelins. The long missiles, almost the length of short spears, flew towards the big fighter, with one striking him in the chest and penetrating armor. The four-inch barbed head tore through skin and muscle, and the long, soft necks bent, leaving the shafts to trail on the ground. The weight was enormous, causing Dieter to stagger and struggle to remain upright.

Round 2:

Dieter takes 1 hit for 10 damage , and the weighted javelin gives a -2 AC penalty. It can be removed from the armor with a full-round action.

Pouring rain gives -4 modifier to ranged attacks.

Molly.... grins as she stalks forward, lips moving as she recites a new incantation that Kronug first whispered in her ear a few days ago. The power builds and erupts on the final word, a blast of lightning leaving the Witch's fingertips!

Molly moves to FO -126 and casts lightning bolt to catch the Orcs at PS -130 and PT -132, if possible. They look like they're in a straight line....? Damage 5d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 1, 3, 4) = 15 electric, Ref. DC16 for half.

Molly's spell sent the orcs twitching and smoking, and for a moment it looked like they were ready to run. Then, the giant bellowed and ran forward, sweeping its greatclub over and down onto Dieter. The tree trunk smashed into Dieter's left collarbone, snapping it like a dry twig.

Tanner Nielsen, what the heck did you do to DM Bigrin? He really seems to have it out for you! :)

Holding off for a second on my action to see where Storn and Dieter are headed.

He keeps making characters with fatal character flaws - like wanting to run out front and challenge big monsters to a deathmatch!
