Quill's rock illuminated the area beyond the bridge, showing that the webbing left the bridge mostly clear. In fact, it looked as if some of the strands that had once covered the bridge had been cut away. Also cut away were the sides of the bridge, making it unstable except in the very center. Walking single file could get you across, and the path continued to the south.
Acrobatics checks to cross the stone bridge, please. DC is 5, so you can take 10 unless your ACP is lower than -5

![]() |

Quill moves up, keeping pace with Storn. When he comes to the bridge he crosses it carefully and easily, taking his time. Take 10 Acro > 10.
Again, he casts light on a stone and tosses it forward, mostly because he likes to see things.
He also looks for tracks.
"Storn, lemme look for tracks again. I want to see if the doggy/wolfy prints are here too."

Sorry for my quiet, lately. Very busy around here.
Sander also easily makes his way across, though doing so much more carefully than either Quill or Molly taking 20!.
He breathes a sigh of relief as he reaches the other side, wiping the sweat off his head.
"Maybe the orcs got rid of the spiders?" he muses as he waits for Quill to finish his inspection of the area.
"I guess we keep going," he says unhappily.

Storn of Gorum |

Taking 10 for 6 as ACP is -4.
Storn very, very carefully makes his way across the bridge.

Mariana Trellis |

Mariana waits for the last of the group to move over and then she easily moves over the bridge.
Taking 10...
"Quill...I'm very confused...I thought you were an archer guardsman. What sort of magic do you practice?" she asks quite surprised at the revelation that it wasn't some elven trick that had been allowing him to use very simple magics. Despite her eyes finally lighting up with curiosity and her being distracted slightly by the revelation, she is still ready with her bow.

"Quill...I'm very confused...I thought you were an archer guardsman. What sort of magic do you practice?"
Quill looks both abashed and nervous about answering that. He remembers the last time he mentioned it, to less-than-good reception.
"Uh...as I said before, The Elf Who Circles The World guides me," Quill explains, hoping to avoid another berating like last time. "He listens when I call him, and speaks to me in prayer. He gives me gifts like light," Quill says, casting Light on another rock and tossing it up ahead. "And water."
He moves up again, looking for danger.

Just to give some context, I am essentially working 3 jobs right now, and my wife's vet clinic had a float in a local Christmas parade on Saturday, followed by 6 hours of helping a friend move. I was just too exhausted this weekend to GM, and then work stuff kept me from doing what I wanted to do. Sorry for the delay. I think I am ready to go now.

You continue to move forward, no longer caring whether or not the enemy kows you are coming. The light shining in these caverns is a dead giveaway. Not too much farther on, the cavern opens up again to a large chamber, the roof completely out of sight of your limited vision range.
Ledges and stairs are carved into the stone walls of this wide-open cavern. Embedded in a fifteen-foot tall spire of centuries-old bones stands the skeelton of a massive armored warrior. Though its flesh has long since rotted away, the skeleton still stands proud and regal among the trappings of battle, and the mounds of gleaming treasure. The skeleton's battered half-plate and scarred helmet hint at its many battles, and the warlord's hands are clenched around a massive stone hammer. beneath the helmet, a thick round rock has been embedded in one of the skeleton's otherwise empty eye sockets.
Standing on the floor of the cavern, his face screwed up in a posture of anger, is a half-orc. Swirling tattoos cover a face that stands out from an uneven shock of light brown hair. It is clear that none of you have ever seen this particular half-orc before. You would have remembered.
Accompanying the half-orc are two enormous wolves, obviously the source of the paw prints Quill was following earlier. The half-orc growled a command, and you didn't need to speak his tribe's version of orcish to know it was a command to attack!

Mariana pinked one of the wolves with her bow, and as it charged in, Storn spitted it through the shoulder. The wolf ignored the wound, and bit Storn deeply on the leg. Tossing its head upwards, the bear-sized wold threw Storn to the ground and placed a massive paw on the man's chest. The wound left a large pool of blood spreading out on the ground, and it was clear that Storn wasn't long for this world.
The other wolf charged straight into a massive hammer that crushed its shoulder. The backhand blow that Yelena followed up with broke the creature's jaw and sent most of its teeth to the ground. Still it lunged at the dwarf, but failed to connect.

"Could you possibly go five minutes without almost dying, Gorumite?" Molly asks, somewhat sarcastically, as she draws a beat on the massive wolf and fires her crossbow over everyone's heads and -- hopefully -- into its flesh.

The wolf facing Yelena yiped and snarled as it burned, and Quill's arrow put it down for good. The other wolf looked ragged and patchy from the fire and acid, but even Molly's shot wasn't enough to get it off of Storn.

The resulting explosion was devastating, as everyone seemed to be caught off-guard. Storn slumped into unconsciousness once more, burned and bleeding. Quill was the only one out of range of the massive explosion, his quick movement taking him beyond its violence.
The wolf atop Storn looked down at the unconscious man beneath its massive paws, and saliva dripped from its fangs as it prepared to rip Storn's throat out. It was caught completely unawares as the steel warhead of Yelena's long warhammer came whistling in from above. The half-orc easily sidestepped the worst of Sander's fire, taking only a small bit of scorching on one leg. The side-step caused Molly to miss as well, though Quill's shot was well-aimed. The arrow struck, but then glanced off, deflected by armor or some other trinket, and only scoring a minor wound on the half-orc. The source of the deflection became apparent a moment later as the half-orc held another of his homemade bombs in his hand, this one leaking a foul green substance. He threw it in Sander's general direction, though the bomb did not explode, then faded back out of the light.
As he moved, so too did Yelena, her dwarven legs pumping as she ran to catch up to the half-orc before he could get away.
