The fight ends as Lin and Eraith with pin point precision take down Zarmina, for good.Fatigued effects end. Trade Prince Aaqir calms himself downs and frantically thanks the pathfinders. "I wouldn't know what to do if you weren't here, I don't understand how this could happen. Please, take some of these. Maybe it could help. Do you think your team can find out who would do such a thing?"
As a token of thanks, Aaqir al’Hakam gives you several scrolls. These include a scroll of cure moderate wounds, and a scroll of endure elements. You and your party begin to walk around the mansion in search of clues to understand what has just occurred, but so far your findings have been unfruitful in uncovering the truth. During your patrol of the manor, you bump into some of the traders, notably Jakti al'Awar, as he passes you a note. After the patrol, you regroup and read the notes.
I would appreciate your meeting me in the temple at your convenience, though try not to delay too long. Something strange is afoot. – Jakti
Seeing the urgency of his note, you group together at the temple where Jakti and two of his bodyguards wait for you. “I was uncertain if you were trustworthy enough to share this information with, but now I see that you are most competent individuals and I believe you can help. “Some days ago I received information from… a trusted source… that a someone has hired several assassins in Katheer for a job this very night. This manor has one of the greatest gatherings of powerful people in the entire city, so I can only conclude that these assassins are meant to strike here. With that knowledge, I hired a few bodyguards for myself, but it would allay my fears if I to have your protection as well. Of course, you may seek to protect everyone in the manor, and I would applaud you for such commitment to righteousness! I will be satisfied if no harm comes to my person before this night is over, whatever the circumstances. Do this for me, and I would greatly consider dealing with such competent individuals in the near future.”
As he finishes speaking, a series of loud crashes echoes through the house, followed by screaming. Jakti’s eyes widen in alarm as he rushes to the temple’s doors only to discover that the entry hall teeming with the walking dead! Jakti and his guards quickly draw their swords to fend off the undead threat. You sense that he has interest beyond his own protection and is letting more than he is telling, however he is caught offguard by the undead and it seems whatever he was planning has changed.
Aaqir al'Hakim emerges from one of the hallways and screams at you "Protect the guest!", though he stresses on the word guest to imply one of the more important ones. You could only interpret that as either Temel or Matella, and both their rooms are on opposite ends!
You must choose one of the prominent trader to protect. This will be a chase round! If one of you pass the check, I'll immediately move the party on to the next obstacle. Good luck!
The Zombies on the stairs are directly blocking your way, to get through you must either knock them over or jump over them!

Patros and Eraith lead the way avoiding the zombies while spectacularly and maybe somewhat comically, as they step on their heads. But just around the corner at the hall, there are...more zombies! Lai starts to sidle up to Jakti during their conversation, but before any alternate arrangements can be made they're interrupted by the crash of the undead horde. She vaults over the zombies with Patros and Eraith, keeping the dagger in one hand but leaving the other free to make maneuvering easier. As she does so, her dress shimmers and becomes a simple cotton shirt and shorts, perfect for movement and adventuring.
I doubt my dagger will be much use against all these things, she thinks as she looks at the small weapon in comparison to the horde. Curse a woman's need to dress to impress! She slashes at the zombies nonetheless.

Patros with a little bit of help from Laiashi and Lin Kai, creates a path with their blades clear enough for the pathfinders to squirm their way through to the other side of the horde. Turning around the corridor, to much of everyone's surprise, there is an obvious tripwire trap right on the floor. What's it doing there?
Reflex or Disable device! Disable device can only be attempted by one PC, so whoever makes the first disable device check, that's it. Everyone else make a reflex roll.
Laiashi
|
Looks like I have the highest Disable Device, so if it's ok with everyone I'll go ahead and roll.
Who in the nine hells sets a trap in a place like this? She had never learned much about setting traps, but getting past them she knew a thing or two about.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Lin Kai

Kai has a +11 as he also has masterwork thieves tools, but I doubt I would have beat a 26! :)
Seeing Laiashi working on the trap, Kai attempts to leap over the trap. However, he trips over his own spear!
reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 Aaah! I definitely wouldn't have cleared that trap with that roll!
GM Batpony

Laiashi in almost no time at all disables the surprise trap, allowing an easy pass to the door of Temel. The sound of falling furniture can be heard from outside the door. But, the door won't budge!
It's a swim or knowledge engineering check. I don't pretend to understand why it's a swim check but it's a swim check to break the door down!

Lin using his shear strength, rams the door and breaks in down.
Inside, Temel is being held in combat with a masked figured, he doesn't look undead, but he does look like he has an intent to kill! You arrive just in time before the fight takes placed.
Almost as if cursed by Murphy's Law. Two zombies break in through the windows! The pathfinder's day seems to be getting more complicated as they draw their arms for another round of combat.

Not at my computer but just to keep things moving. Also Patros it wasn't your turn, just giving you opportunity to parry, you've used 3 panache point against the two zombies way I see it.
With lightning reflex, both Laiashi and Eraith take out the assassin before a move could be made on the helpless trader.
The two zombie threat remains. One on the brink of death, again, and the other standing strong.
Everybody is up! Except Eraith.

Things also seem a little quieter around the house, you only assume that the rest of the zombie threat in the house is eliminated.
With the threat eliminated, Temel gets up and says "Thank you, I'm in your debt pathfinders. I'm alright for now. I came here to the security of my room as soon as I saw Zarmina get out. I think I was followed into my room shortly after by this guy!"
