I'll be curious to see how you handle the determination of the DC for a case with two opponents. Do you start with the higher CMD and then add +2? If the hyena manages to bite him and trip him, he'll still attack from the ground. And if he misses the DC by 1, do both get an AOO or just one? If just one, how do you determine which? This has been hard for me to figure out when I've had to DM similar situations.

Deepmarket handouts Deepmarket maps

If the roll is low enough to trigger an AoO from each foe, I'd trigger then in Init order. Seems like the most sense. In Benson ' s case, I know he beat the Hyena, even with the +2; it's the gnoll I don't know off the top of my head.

Running allows up to 4 times speed, no difference?

Deepmarket handouts Deepmarket maps

Typically, running has to be in a straight line and cannot go through difficult terrain, because of the mixed elevations going from your original position towards Wyeth, there is not an area that would not involve super high Acrobatics DC for me to think you just parkoured that; the DC would be about 40 and even with using a ki point to get a +20 to that roll and your above average speed, you are simply unable to make that DC. You'd better believe it! He has a +2 Unorthodox Strategy bonus for moving through threatened squares for just this sort of tactic, and he hasn't gotten to use it much yet!

Immediately after the brace, Wyeth drives forward with his fauchard, treating it almost as a pike. While the quarters are too close for an effective strike, the oracle's goal isn't damage, but to force the gnoll off-balance so it has no chance to attack as he tumbles past it.

Acrobatics w/U.S. bonus: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 10 + 2 = 19

Hmm... not sure if that's good enough... Wyeth's just not very good with his fauchard in so close!

Move to new position (map updated) and apply previously rolled attack, as is possible.

Deepmarket handouts Deepmarket maps

@Wyeth: You actually hit the CMD ON THE DOT! So your Unorthodox Strategy really did pay off!

Propelling himself into a new position with his polearm, Wyeth then spins around and cuts into the gnoll who howls out in pain from the blackened steel causing a wound that sends the mutated foe the ground unconscious!

Benson and the others gather their animals before the party inspects the cave, Gob's curiosity piqued.

Pictographs on the walls of this shallow cave show an indistinct winged creature navigating through a sea of swirling patterns and black dots. A clumsily constructed altar sits at the center of the cave. Dozens of small niches are carved into the wall, most filled with an odd assortment of items; teeth, scraps of clothing, a jar of white liquid, a wooden staff, several pieces of parchment, a cloth pouch, a leather satchel, and several identical wooden dolls.

DC 15 Kn: Religion:

DC 20 Kn: Religion or Kn: Planes:

DC 18 Perception:

You notice that the altar has dried mutant gnoll blood, recognizable due to the greenish tint it has to it, much like the foes you just encountered.

Looking through the valuable items, the dolls are of exceptional quality and could be sold at a fair price elsewhere. The wooden staff is also masterwork quality.

DC 15 Kn: Religion, DC 10 for Gob:

The staff bears symbols to Nethys, the god of magic.

Also, two pieces of parchment are magical; they are a scroll of speak with plants and a scroll of mount. The leather satchel contains an oil of silence, three +1 seeking bullets, a tracer bullet, and a lesser burrowing bullet.

"This is my first time putting into port in this part of Golarion. I've heard strange tales about Nex, Geb, and this wasteland." Benson cocked his head in Wyeth's direction. "Seems this place has suffered more from the abuse of arcane magic than the pursuit of divine objectives. If ever there was a place where chaos would be revered, it seems it would be here."

Anything else you guys wish to go over? Otherwise, we'll move on later this afternoon!

Having put the jar back, Wyeth pokes about to be sure nothing of value has been missed.

I don't see that anyone's mentioned it so, just to cover the base, Wyeth will check the cloth pouch and leather satchel to see if there's anything of interest inside. Also, are the dolls more like figurines or totems or children's dolls? Finally, he'll sling a Detect Magic just to see if anything lights up.

Sorry for the delay, we'll continue on tomorrow!

@Wyeth: I already noted the sweet loot from the pouch and the satchel. The dolls look like handmade children's dolls. The detect magic will not detect anything I hadn't already noted (ie, the magic items).

Fairy nuff. I figured as much but just wanted to cover the base.
