The robed man next to Pelkin lashes out with his fists, the first one an open palm strike to the half-elf's abdomen and the other backhand to the face; his eyes also seem to flash with a black light and he becomes more nimble!

The two are surprised and struck by the lightning as now a large coiled snake with thick scaled plating, but the head of an attractive female human now appears in Pelkin's chamber, although her form is quite blurry.
She's visible under the effect of displacement. 50% miss chance striking her!
This is a dark naga, a serpentine creature with a human head capable of speech. They have the spellcasting ability of acomplished sorcerors, are immune to poison, and can read thoughts upon concentration. They also boast a barbed stinger that can deliver a venom that puts its foes to sleep.

Mexel doesn't even get close to landing a blow against the man in black. Twigg instead goes after the blurry target in the back with a blast of sparkles.
I had to look it over, but it seems Glitterdust doesn't do anything against displacement; glitterdust says that it outlines invisible things, but displacement doesn't make things invisible. That said, you may still blind her, so let's see!

Velidor finishes off the last of the mill workers; a shot aimed at the head of the robed man attacking Pelkin is blocked by the doorway, wood splinters showering Pelkin and the robed man. He tries for another fatal shot, but powder doesn't ignite and Velidor readies himself to empty the chamber neatly lest he risk damage to himself and his trusty firearm.

This is a garuda, typically a noble outsider that battles nagas and other serpentine aberrations. They are exceptional archers and carry with them bows that cause the arrows to be imbued with lightning. Besides having some spellcasting ability, they also are exceptional flyers and can even pounce on a foe with bite and talon when they charge from the sky. Finally, magic or evil weapons are required to fully wound them and they are resistant to spells SR 21 to save some trouble there.
Meanwhile, Pelkin hears other noises coming from behind the eastern door.

in my haste i did not even see the rolled 1. so yes he shoots once and it misses and the musket jams again. good catch.

No worries; I figure you did not want your gun to explode with that Nat 4 (I think that would have caused a 2nd misfire :P
And I had a fellow gunslinger in my local game go double barrel in the first level of Bonekeep, first attack roll... Nat 1 and Nat 2. Had to use a reroll on Nat 1 to keep her gun from exploding and rolled a 5 at least. The trouble with guns :P

My Reflex is currently +12 but I doubt a 15 will change anything.

Sorta clever idea... but only partial application
Lore's light strikes the naga, singing its scales.
The naga tries to cast another spell, causing Amarthecthel to swing.
Amarthecthel Miss chance > 50 is hit: 1d100 ⇒ 1
However, the elf misses the blurry creature again!
